      as 70s baby, i really loved the movie BACK then…i still enjoy it purely because it was a movie of my early years.

      what i think is unhelpful about the modern reviews of 'older' movies is that some of them tend to review them as if they came out today, whereas if you watch it and think of it through the context of the 80s, then they make more sense.

      In short, it is a movie about teenagers who live in a town where public dancing is outlawed - now that wont make sense today, but there were indeed times like that, and so unless you can understand that, then this will just seem too remote/cheesy/unrealistic and dated.

      (saw the re-make last wednesday…it was pretty faithful to the original, but because of that, i wont expect many people today to 'get it')

  I would recommend against signing up with this company. I've been trying for a month to get off their mailing list and am still receiving emails despite deleting my account via the website, clicking the unsubscribe link in each email and complaining to the ACMA.

  Expected the remake to be pretty bad, but was surprisingly good. Probably better than the original in a lot of ways.
