[PC] Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Deluxe Edition ~AU$12.13 (India Store, VPN Required, US$7.54 after US$10 Coupon) @ Epic Games

671

This is one ripper of a deal, and ~the best is that the key is Linked to your main Origin Account (despite the need for separate Epic account).~ update: looks like you still need to sign in to your Indian epic account when you launch.

Instructions:
- You will need VPN to India (I have SurfShark and TorGuard. Got both VPNs from ozbargain as well. Any VPN will work).
- Create another Epic store account for India (if you have gmail, just do what I did: [email protected]). You can't use your main Epic one
- Setup 2FA (Email is fine) to claim Free GTA V (to activate the $10 USD coupon).
- Make sure you order the Deluxe Edition (the standard one is $14.94 USD, below the $15 threshold to use the coupon). Delux edition is $17.54 which will discount to US$7.54 = ~ AU$12.13
- Checkout, make sure you either use an Indian PayPal account, or a CC that allows international transaction.
- Login to Epic using your Indian Epic account, and when you hit Install, it will ask for your Origin account to link / activate the game.

Lowest price guaranteed for PC so far, and this is the Deluxe Edition that comes with extra goodies! I could launch this directly from Origin without the need for Epic :) . This is currently AU$49.99 after coupon on the Aussie store, so $38 saving!

Proof here (receipt from Epic store + the game appearing in my existing origin library): https://imgur.com/a/jCUdA18

  • Gonna try this later and if it works; holy fu**

Hold my beer, flying to India real quick

  • What's Red Dead Redemption 2 cost in India?

    • USD25.99 after the $10 discount

  • Can confirm this works, used VPN unlimited
my Qantas Amex worked for credit card checkout but not my Paypal account

  • So it just links to orgin and you dont have to run epic to play the game?

    • +3

Yeah for me I just click play from Origin

      • +2

Yeah unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case.
Day2 after purchasing, when I try to launch from Origin it opens Epic launcher and asks me to login for DRM checks.
Works after doing so but not as described in OP.

        • Hi eruantien02, did you need to have the vpn running an Indian session to pass the DRM each time you launch the game? Or could you enter your details using standard internet connection?
          Thanks!

          • +2

@NFS: VPN was only required for the initial account setup and purchase.

  • Didn't work for me. Says "You need to purchase this in your own country. I added my real Australian street address with the credit card details.

    • +2

same. Didnt work with Nord but Windscribe+28degrees worked for me

    • just put in a random McDonald's India address with your current credit cards and see if it works

  • Where's the 10 USD discount from?

    • You need to claim GTA V first. See the instructions above

      • Ok so it looks like a accompanying coupon is added to your new epic account after ordering GTA V, something called Epic Coupon, it is automatically added to your account.

So just search in Epic game for Jedi, to find the Fallen order to buy.

  • Worked for me with an NAB Visa card

    Thanks!

  • Where do you find the product code to activate it in Origin?
Edit: Disabled VPN after purchase and Origin stopped asking for the code.

  • +1

Will this cause issues in the future if I want to link Origin to my regular EPIC account?

    • Also wondering this.

    • Maybe if you are concerned then creating a separate Origin account is not a bad idea.

    • +1

Check out my comment below. I reckon you'll be fine, but I imagine you'll have to disconnect this account from your Origin in order to connect another one (which may remove the game from your library in Origin).

  • Was seriously thinking about buying this in aussie dollars but you have saved me a packet! Bloody legend!

    • Also if anyone cared just used my ING Visa Debit card $11.78

  • Confirm this works.

The rolling the ball CAPTCHA is pretty fun and almost makes up for how slow the Epic store is on my IBVPN connection to Bangalore.. I like how it gives you a score/star rating.

It feels like it has taken me forever to do the order, and then to login to the client, then link it… but an hour later, it's downloading in Origin (I disconnected VPN by this point).

    Thanks Op.

    ps. 28 Degrees/Latitude just charged me $11.71.

  • Worked with Up for me

Can confirm that I've got this working just like everyone else, however I looked into disconnecting Epic from Origin and it looks like it's a pain to do. You have to email/chat with origin customer service and get them to manually disconnect linked accounts, as there's no way to do it yourself. I also noticed that within Origin the game has an Epic Games icon in the corner, making me wonder if removing the epic account would disconnect the game from your Origin account.

This isn't a huuuge issue because from what I hear it's the kind of game that you can play once and then get rid of/disconnect permanently, however it's probably worth being aware of before you buy.

    • Good insight. I think my fear is if epic bans the account, do you lose the game in origin. Hmm.

      • Yep, I meant my personal thought on this is that it’s just a game.
If it was only a couple of bucks cheaper, then I would have just bought it outright on Aussie store. But for $40 saving + it’s even cheaper than a month worth of Origin Premium Access, I’m willing to risk it.

In the unlikely case if the account gets banned, I might have already finished it or the game might have been discounted more steeply to get it again.

        Just my 2c

      • +2

Yes they will. I've just realised that each time I go to play the game in Origin it attempts to authenticate with your Epic account before starting the game. So unless you're signed into your Indian account on Epic Games app you can't actually play this. Bit of a deal breaker for most games, however I don't have any games on Epic store that I'm playing atm so don't mind only having this game available on Epic for a bit. Would be really painful to have to sign out and back into your main Epic account each time you wanted to play a game though.

OP, it might be worth having these details on the original post as this might be a deal breaker for a lot of people. I think it's still a decent deal, but there are a few cons to doing it this way.

@nkahoang: I thought you said you could launch from Origin without the need for Epic?

            • @snoopydoop: I could and I might have been wrong there. I ran it directly via NVIDIA GameStream to my iPad which didn't open Epic. But it turns out that's not the same experience for everyone so I updated the post so people know it.

              • @nkahoang: Ok cool, hopefully it works for me! Thank you.

              • +1

@nkahoang: Did you have the Epic app linked to your Indian account though?

I was hoping it'd be more like ubisoft's system, where once you've linked a purchase from Steam/Epic you don't need to open the third party client to play the game but it doesn't look like this is the case here. Would be good to get confirmation from other people though.

        • +1

I just came here to say just this. Also as an additional note your origin account is now tied to your Indian epic account. I can't see an obvious way to untie them.

  • Did it this morning with Windscribe and my AMEX card. Worked great! Created an account to comment to show my appreciation :).

  • Lol damn it. Just bought this yesterday for about AUD$45.

Only a couple of hours in and it's awesome.

So can anyone confirm that this can all be done just via an epic account and a web browser? You never have to install the Epic Games client for such deals?

    • I believe you have to install Epic Games for the last step (linking the purchase to your Origin account). But I could be wrong. When I did it, it asked me to launch the Epic Games Launcher, but if I didn't it might have followed through via the browser anyway.

  • Why is everyone fearing that you can get banned? In the ToS no where does it say you can't buy games from other regions lol different story if it did

  • Why so cheap there, it's $100 bucks here.

  • Removed EPIC launcher because it has security issues… https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoenixPoint/comments/b0rxdq/epic_g…

  • fixed.

    This is not an Ozbargain…

If people keep posting "tricks" which abuse different region pricing we'll get this posted 24/7… This is fraud and when it comes to especially gaming platforms you run the risk of getting your account suspended.

This is the second deal that abuses regional prcing, Ive seen today. These aren't good deals, they're risky loopholes, even more risky than buying a game off a site like G2A.

    • +2

      I meant…

      • We have very popular Spotify/Netflix/YouTube deals from different regions (Philippines, Turkey, and India)…
      • We have deals popping up on 7/11 fuels in different Australian location…
      • We have gift cards only available on eBay UK sites…
      • And several discounted / freebies only available via VPN (free movies, free games, etc).

I say if it's obtainable to Aussies, then it should be posted; we are all adults here and we can make the judgement for ourselves on whether or not you would like to take a risk and time to obtain it. If it was Steam, they block it hard and it's not doable in the first place.

Also btw: G2A might use stolen CC to purchase the key so I still think that's way riskier. With this, the account is yours, the CC is yours, and the platform processing CC is safer than any other sites.

Using a VPN is always an option for everything, we have so many posts telling people to use a VPN on Epic Games recently, when it could be covered by 1 post, but it shouldn't be covered at all, it's fraud, it's not a bargain. They all tell you to do the he same thing and alot fail to warn users of the risk.

A completely seperate regional account should be used and if that's the case go live on ForeignBargain. And risk getting indian keys being redeemed on your Aussie origin account.

    • +1

      While you do bring up some good points, the only deals that get posted that take advantage of regional pricing usually fall into a small number of unique categories;

      • There is a "trick" that makes it even cheaper. So the perfect example is this deal. Regional pricing + sale + discount coupon makes it an incredible price which we will probably never see in Australian currency.
      • Buying it in another region provides benefits. An example for this one is Battlefront 2 1 when it first released. A Mexican purchase made it cheaper and allowed you to play 2 days early.
      • A copy of bulletpoint #2 but like OP already said, other regions get X months free on Spotify if buying through another region.

This is why you don't see deals being posted all the time for cheaper regions. I personally use a Russian Steam account to buy super cheap at Russian RRP but don't post them here because it's technically not a deal.

  • OMFG I CANNOT BELEIVE I JUST GOT THIS!
    OP You're freaking legend !!
    Thank you kind person

  • Confirmed working with NordVPN.

I had to restart my PC after selecting India in Nord. Only then would it allow me to purchase.

Before doing the restart I was getting the same as above "You need to purchase this in your own country…"

  • I just used a hoxx on chrome with an in private session to create a new account.

  • Whilst I love a good bargain, this is quite a headache having to logout of Epic, login using India account, then open Origin, etc… in order for the game to launch. Feels like the old days when people had to jump through hoops with DRM…

    • i haven't had to go through that hoops… it launches fine from origin I am yet to log out and back into epic since purchasing it

      • I had an active Epic account (non India) which has a lot of stuff in it so it requires me to login to my India account to launch. Sometimes it also prompts me to relink the Origin account which pops up an error because Origin is already linked to the India account which indicates to me that Epic somehow defaulted back to my original account.

Shrug. I feel it's things like this which whilst bearable(ish) now, can be cause for a headache years down the track.

        • +3

Apology if this deal causes you a bit of a headache; hopefully that will be fine down the road. (Otherwise, maybe buy all origin games on Epic Store in the future from India store? /jk)
Have you tried launching SwGame.exe directly? That's what I did with Nvidia Gamestream and it let me play the game directly.

          • @nkahoang: No need to apologise - more just I worry in years to come it'll be an issue when I can't link multiple EPIC accounts to one Origin account.

I tried launching directly and it prompted me to link it to an Origin account again. Oddly enough I had Origin already running.

          • @nkahoang: edit: nope, it basically just pops up with "your EA account is already linked with [Indian EGS account]. Please login or register with a different EA account to complete linking with [Normal EGS account]."

I'm considering just using my Indian account for everything though, everything on my main account is just the free trash that I'm never gonna play anyway.

      • Once you link the game to your AUS origin account it should work fine?

        • Nah eventually got prompted to login to epic to run the game. It's an annoyance but I am not playing any other games on my other epic account at the moment so I am just logged in with my Indian account

          • @janoski: really thats stupid! Does it ask every time you launch the game? Or does it randomly ask once in a while?

            • +1

@RetroMetro: its only at launch, if i leave it logged into my Epic-India account it doesnt bother me

  • Does opera browser work?

  • Can confirm this worked with Tunnelbear and Transferwise, 19/05/2020

  • Anyone had issues installing this game in Origin?
Posted my issue here: but alas, no help.
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/Error-…

    • Sorry to hear!
      Installed fine for me.
You aren't installing with a VPN or something are you?

      • No vpn, just get to 48%, then errors out.
Tried all the forum suggestions. uninstalled Origin multiple times with a Geek uninstaller, tried different SSDs.
You'd think a clean Origin install, and pressing download would just work.
Its my gaming rig, and all I have on it is steam , epic and Gog galaxy, with zero install issues.

        • What error do you get? Or does it just stop downloading?
Sorry! You mentioned it in your first post.
I take it you've done the basics?

Running Origin as an Administrator: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-do-i-run-a-program-or-…

Temporarily disable your antivirus software to see if that is causing the issue

Clear your Origin cache as follows: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/origin-my-games…

          • +1

@NFS: So my work around worked. I have a fully installed game.

On a secondary PC in installed the full game to a portal SSD drive.

Then on primary PC which was having the problems. Cleared the origin cache, copied the full game over the failed installation folder.

Loaded Origin and it started preparing the file and completed.

Now to work out why I had this install issue in the first place.

            • @skully78: Wow, that is really weird.
Wonder if you've got some other service messing with the initial attempt on your gaming rig.
You don't use any port blocking tools do you? You tried disabling your antivirus (inc Windows defender)?
Either way, glad you got it working!
I'm enjoying the game so far!

              • @NFS: No funny business on this machine.
Yeah it's pretty awesome, looks great on epic settings.
Made it to Chapter 2 so far.

  • How big is the game download?
