Good price but not cheapest ever

    • Yes, still kicking myself for not grabbing that.

  • Should add cheapest ever from a reliable retailer 😃

    • Should add cheapest ever other then red colour. 😁

  • Between this and the vivoactive, I've still haven't pull the plug

    • What is your main use? Running / cycling often?

      • Just running and cycling. 3-4 times a week. I'm not a marathon runner though

I see the Vivoactive 3 is $229 on Amazon at the moment. They’re a bit long in the tooth now, but a solid watch for that money.

      • Looks like this is for the non music version only sadly

  • This or forerunner 245 music?

    • I would get this if you ever intend doing a triathlon

      • I wouldn’t as it doesn’t support multi sport recording. That’s the FR945 or Fenix series.

    • both watches have the same dimensions and battery life.

what this watch has over the 245 music:
      - garmin pay
      - barometric altimeter (accurately capture change in altitude)

what the 245 has over the 645:
      - pulse oximeter (blood oxygen level)
      - body battery level (measure body energy reserve)

you can decide based on what you'd prefer

      • This watch was released in early 2018 while the 245 was in late 2019. The 245 contains the 3rd gen optical HR monitor.

  • Pay with Amazon e-Gift card via Suncorp Rewards for 3% off.

Vivoactive 4/4S is $400/$370 delivered from Slane Cycles. Use "subscribe5" to take $10 off the order. Could be a better buy for some people than 645

    • $440/$405 AUD now, including the $10 off code
      Still not bad

I bought it $429.99 from Amazon AU back in Nov 2018.

  • Instinct or 645 non music?
Bought Instinct 2 days ago from Garmin, $320. This is $399. Also bought, lol. None shipped yet. Which has more navigation features, like upload tracks, waypoints, follow track, is DWMAP a thing?

    • After a week of using both I kept Instinct. Much better display visibility, more proper for outdoors stuff, cheaper. Ultimate goal - topo maps, is not in 645, I'll wait few years before upgrading from Instinct.

  • Why is this model specifically named "Music"? I thought the music control was a built-in function by default. Please forgive my ignorance as I haven't laid my eyes on any forerunner models since I got 935.

WIth these newer ones you can actually download and store music on the watch "Easily download up to 500 songs to your watch, and connect with Bluetooth headphones (sold separately) for phone free listening"

    • There's a Music and non-Music version, with the non-Music version being slightly cheaper.
