there must be a good reason why it wasn't selling well and the price needs to be dropped ???

    • The rollers quality is very important, I would be tempted by this deal but I MUST check the machine before I buy it.

  • Awesome! I can finally buy a machine that makes one of the cheapest products on the shelves!

Yeah…and why even make a home cooked meal when I can feed the whole family for $20 at McDonalds!

You'll have GMO family lol :)

All of the downvotes suggest to me that some Ozbargainers missed the sarcasm in tritorius' comment. You'll get an upvote from me though, sir!

Homemade pasta is definitely not to be compared to the commercial stuff they try to fob off as pasta these days.

    • +4

seriously though, home made pasta is really delicious. Once you try it the packet stuff at Coles will never taste good again.

    • Well, you've convinced me! I'll have to treat myself one of these days! Shame that you can only edit your comments just after you post them.

put PLUS POSTAGE in title, unless of course postage is free ????

I have never seen this at Aldi, even the last couple of weeks / months

Please refer to Aldi's June offer below
    http://www.aldi.com.au/au/html/offers_20110616.htm

    • do you have a offer on a cheap manual version?

think it was like $15 at aldi.

  • Comes to $58.25 with postage

Doesn't seem worth it with postage included

$58 is still not too bad given it was $99 at Aldi. Looking at the FAQ, you can pick the item up from Northmead NSW. Rep can you quote shipping prices to each state?

Regarding pasta, I recommend everyone watch Heston Blumenthal's: In Search of Perfection (Spaghetti Bolognaise) where he compares commercial pasta brands and the difference in manufacturing to how sauce bonds to the pasta. Part 3 has the bit about pasta but I'd recommend watching the entire episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb40RhNPgSw&feature=related

No doubt, it's still a great deal…but at $40 I was willing to buy it without a second thought.
Perfect case of an Impulse Purchase

For $58…I start thinking…hmm do I need it…and I slowly back away from the purchase page.

      • You should see my mum doing it :)

$35 delivery to WA is pretty expensive

    • +3

probably why the REP is trying to hide postage info from the post…

      • +1

Yep I had a TV shipped across to WA for $30.
Although I did have to deal with the worst courier in Australia (Allied Express).
Took 4 days to get to the Perth depot from Sydney (i.e. several thousand kilometres), and another two and a half weeks to travel the 30km to my house.

would have got one but postage at 35 no way

  • im a wog, so i bought one to try :P if i dont like it my cc company will refund me :)

    • if i dont like it my cc company will refund me :)

      Why would they do that?

      • one of the perks with my platinum cards with the NAB :)

  • Question: With 9 adjustable thickness - what is the thinnest in mm? Just wondering if suitable for dumpling thickness… where can we find out?

    • It is great for dumplings. I make ravioli with it too which requires a similar thickness.

  • I wonder how this compares to the manual style ones that are cheap at Harris Scarfe:

Hey all - I bought one of these from ALDI for $50 because the box was ripped. It is an awesome little machine and with the correct folding technique, you can have the silkiest pasta that tastes as good as any hatted restaurant will serve. It is very quick to roll and gives consistently good results. A manual pasta maker will give pretty much the same results, but this does it much quicker and with fewer hassles (you have an extra hand free to guide and hold the sheet). My 2c.

    • I would love one of these too, but shipping is way too much for WA. $38.45 to Bunbury for standard shipping or …$122.70 for express!! I wonder if I can buy one of these over here. I love home made pasta, but its a pain trying to turn the handle on the pasta machine while trying to guide the pasta through.

  • Availability:
    Temporary out of stock

  • Thanks everyone here. The response was unexpected good and all pasta makers were sold in last 3 hours.
