  • These or the Cowin E7’s?

    • Ive had Cowin E7 for 2 years I use them evey day, one word BRILLIANT.good battery life, sound quality, NC.i paid $47 on sale.

  • this or BH60?

    • These are basically the same but next model up to the BH60s - so for the price, might as well get these. Better mic, longer battery, APTX codec.

      • These are much lighter to wear than BH060s and faster response due to APTx but to me the BH060s sound a little better.

What's the difference between this and the TT-BH22's?

        • 22 has lower spec in dB, Bluetooth and charging. There is a summary table on Amazon.

          • @wetwork: Thanks your efforts do not go unnoticed.

    • +3

bought BH085 from last deal and BH046 a week later. BH046 is definitely work the extra $20.

      • +1

        What're the main differences?

        • I have posted a summary further down this thread.

  • been waiting since the last deal!

  • +3

    That extra 50c is killer…

  • +2

I got this roughly two months ago and I gotta be honest, it’s comfy (although I don’t usually wear headphones more than 1 hour) , the audio is pretty good (especially bass), battery life is pretty decent, connection is amazing with no latency at all while watching videos and overall, it’s absolutely amazing for this price. My only concern is that there’s a blue led light blinking once in a while on the back-right side of the headphones. (Not exactly a huge issue for me though). The bag that comes with it doesn’t look good too so I would recommend getting a bag/case of your own.

    • +3

Agree - I bought mine about 2 months ago in one of the last deals. I put black tape over the blinking light.
I have bought three pairs of Taotronics headphones over the last 6 months, BH060, BH046 and these BH85s. BH085s are great for the lounge TV, light and comfortable.
They all have slightly different strengths for different members of my household and all are really good fror the price. ANC is best for me on the BH046s due to the deep ear cups. Bass is strong, esp with ANC on. BH060 are sturdy for kids
You may feel better spending more on Bose, Sony, or some other "Äudi brand" etc, which do perform a bit better but cost 3 times as much. They will impress other passengers on the Qantas plane more as well, but we are not flying any more - so meh! to that pecking order.
BTW - Taotronics customer service provides rapid and helpful support, which is worth a lot of money for me.

      • Thanks for comparative review. I am looking at a new pair for watching on TV only. Have you noticed any bluetooth audio latency issues?

        • No - I have not noticed any sync problems between visual and sound with the 85s. I watch streaming and .avi's more than broadcast though. I am more interested in how loud they will go and how clear the bass is. I think the 46s probably go a bit louder than the 85s but I believe there is the occasional sync shift.
Functionwise, the 85s fold up nicely when not in use.
Looking forward to the 55s eventually getting to a better price. They have a great spec and have reviewed well.

I was never so interested in headphones before Taotronics! Now I'm starting to feel OCD.

      • How do you pair it with the TV? With something like this:
        https://www.amazon.com.au/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Transmitter-R…

        • Would love to try this device myself!
I connect straight to a PC in the lounge - transmits via a TPLink dongle on a USB port. Simples when you are watching streaming or movie files and best quality outcome.
I had a real cheap dongle in a USB port on the TV and the headphone port but the background noise was too annoying. Rarely watch broadcast TV anymore - programs are just dross now.

  • Does anyone have any idea when the BH055 model will be back in stock on Amazon?

    Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B081JY4BMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

    • Advantages of these over the BH85? How much were they selling for last time on Amazon?

  • This or Anker Soundcore Q20!! Q20 is currently available at Aliexpress at roughly same price.
    I am leaning towards Q20.

  • Got mine a couple weeks ago during the previous deal and can highly recommend them!

The ANC isn't great though, but I didn't buy them for that purpose.

  • Anyone used these for gaming before? Looking to plug them into my Xbox controller to use as a headset

    • +1

I tried it on pc (csgo) and barely experienced any delays while shooting, listening to footsteps, listening to voice chat etc. In fact, i do not notice any latency at all.

However, I tried connecting to phone to play some mobile games and realized that there might be a slight (barely noticeable) delays for the UI sound effects ( when I press on the menu button, selecting options etc.)

It should be noted that the mic on these aren’t exactly great though, meaning that it might not be desirable if you prefer multiplayer games, especially when voice chat is involved.

  • Damn, I ordered these yesterday, does anyone know if I would be able to get a refund or price match on these?

    • +1

Just contact them,I think someone had just like you scenario and got refunded.

  • +1

What are people's thoughts on the BH-046 in comparison to this model?

    • +4

      I have both.
The 46s sound better than the 85s to me. But the 85s dont get as hot and are lighter - so good for TV and long period wearing.
I feel the ANC is better in the 46s due to their shape.
The 85s seem to have slightly superior sync.
The 46s come with a proper carry case.
I now own 2 of the 46's because they sound so good for the price, also homeschooling in NSW meant we needed more headphones.

      • +1

I belive the 046 uses a different ANC techology than 085 which has mic both inside and outside to caccelling the noise.

        • Agree but the depth of the ear cup also provides a physical barrier to sound as well as the electronics of the hybrid ANC system.

      • So far from the reviews, it seems that 046 is much better than 085, but my only gripe is no USB-C in 046.

  • +2

As I'm writing this I am wearing a pair and they are very comfortable to wear almost to the point I never take them off (so the stink… I go over them with baby wipes when they do). They look slick from the sides with a "cool" brand logo and chic all black and the easy touch buttons are great for volume control. The sound quality is also pretty good overall.

The only downsides would be Mic and Noise Cancellation. From my own personal experience when using the mic connected for a call/discord, the end user says "it sounds like you're standing 1-2 metres away from your mic".

The noise cancellation can take away from quality of music as they can penetrate through, for example loud tv noises are especially bad and also people talking. I almost never turn it on as it only has the smallest affects on the sound quality and can sometimes boost the sounds of people talking. Comparing this to say a JBL600BTNC, I would easily pay and extra $50 or so for the JBL pair.

    TL;DR (from my personal experience)
The TaoTronics pair are still good sound quality headphones for listening to music and movies/videos. They feel very comfortable especially for under $100 and they also have an 18 month. However, the are lacking in noise cancellation which does affect the sound quality if youre in a loud environment and the poor mic is just an "extra" that doesnt get used.
"So if youre looking for a comfy set of headphones that you never want to take off because you are listening to music and podcasts 24/7 these are for you."

    • "The only downsides would be Mic and Noise Cancellation. From my own personal experience when using the mic connected for a call/discord, the end user says "it sounds like you're standing 1-2 metres away from your mic"."

Did you use it via wireless or wired?

      • +1

Unfortunately I cant use wired as the wire doesnt fit the headphone jack on my phone properly (it slips out), so I have no idea if it is different with the wire.

  • Love the Taotronics Bluetooth headphones just wish they somehow made them machine washable somehow because mine have been used so much while sweating at work cleaning that I can't use them any more because they smell so bad.

I tried using disposable wipes for awhile but felt guilty with all the waste I was producing. I might get a bucket and a cloth to clean them but yeah nothing beats getting them submerged in some water and cleaning liquid which you obviously can't do because they are not waterproof and drying them would be very hard and take forever.

Yeah whoever makes the first sub $100 washing machine safe wireless headphones will be a legend.

Scared to try it on my TT-BH22's.

    • So the source of the smell is most likely the foam inside each earcup. They are fully replaceable, just gently take them apart and you will find the foam insert. Take it out, wash it, whatever, and put it back in. Sorted.

The pleather is just plastic and won't let moisture through, so it must be the foam.

      • Are you saying my TT-BH22's have removable foam cups? Are you sure that feel pretty solid and I think the smell has settled into the whole unit aka the non removable stuff.

  • Can you connect these to two devices at the same time? My BH22's can be connected to 2 devices.

    • +1

      Based on review, yes.

      • Thanks

    • +1

Yes but it's not automatic like true multipoint (Bose, etc). You must pair each time.

  • Does anyone know, if it has a mute button… wondering if I can mute during calls :)

  • Price on Amazon is $89.99 - Does anyone know whether the deal is still active?

    • Apparently not. You just have to keep an eye out for next time it drops. Apparently it does quite often

    • Hey, its back to this price!
