  • Good prices. Black friday was only $50 cheaper on the LM2021E if I recall + free shipping (extremely low stock though). No battery redemption promotion at the moment though. But these prices are still great and don't come along often.

  • $88 delivery though to 2077
I wonder if total tools will price match so I can click and collect

    • They would most likely factor in shipping into it but you could always try…

  • +1

    shipping extra
    Circa $120 to Melbourne

  • yeh $50 delivery to Sydney kills it for me.

Was tossing up between this or the Victa 82V 18 inch mower… any opinions on which way I should go?

    • +1

$50 kills it? This is very cheap for an ego. $50 shouldn't kill it.

Lack of a battery redemption promo is a serious detractor. But your days of 'cheap ego' may be gone as that only came by Masters (dead), Blackwoods (not stocking ego anymore) and sometimes Tradetools (not as cheap)

Ego mowers have 30 day satisfaction guarantee IIRC. I have an ego and it's great but I have not used a Victa.

Your avatar looks like "small saul" (kids book) but a superhero

  • $257.61 (inc GST) for shipping to Adelaide for mower + 2 whipper snippers kills deal :(

  • Love my ego. A bit shit on wet grass but easy enough to use that my wife mows the lawn (on an extremely rare occasion)

  • The LM2021E is $150 to post to Adelaide, yet the LM2001E is "only" $73. Is the LM2021E that much heavier?

    • +3

We have identified the shipping glitch. 5ah will be slightly higher than 4ah due to the Dangerous goods surcharge but we are updating the volume measurements now on the LM2021E so its more reasonable.

      • Thanks for the prompt update & fix.

      • Thanks Op.. purchased one with the reduced delivery cost.

        • LM2021E arrived today.. cant wait to test it out

  • Almost had me but $163 delivery to tassie is just too much…

  • I'd be interested in Ego if their cut height went lower. 25mm isn't that low if you want to scalp your lawn in spring.

    • Yeah I'd be interested if anyone has any hacks to get it lower (e.g. I've heard of people removing wheels to get lower). But these battery powered ones may not be the best for scalping

      • I used to have an Ego LM2001E mower, but it kept getting bogged in the thick Santa Ana Couch grass I have, (it worked fine on my patch of Sir Walter Buffalo).

I ended up selling the Ego and buying a Masport President 2500, which doesn't struggle at all and can go down to 10mm, but its bit more clumsy to use and bounces around compared to the ego, but at least doesn't rip holes in the lawn like the Ego did.

Originally I wanted to get a more powerful Ego but when I called up Ego they said none of their lawn mowers would cut my lawn and the local lawn mower shop brought out a Masport to test on my lawn to verify it would work. I still have and use the Ego multi tool/line trimmer, leaf blower and hedge trimmer.

        • Yeah Masport seem to be the only battery ones that go nice and low. I'm considering them as my next update.

          • @NigelTufnel: I was in the market for a mower last week and shop told me they no longer sold battery masport as they had too many come backs and my makita 36v was crap. Ended up getting masport 486 on clearance from Bunnings for $360

            • +1

@OzBargined: When I bought mine a few months ago, I got the 84V which was a newer model, the shop said the older 82V one had reliability issues and used a completely different motor.

Dear OP, I'd love to see a deal on the hedge trimmers. Any chance? I'm in the market today!

I own both the mower and edger and tI've gotta say they're fantastic for the more compact garden.

  • +1

Potential customer if there is a deal for self-propelled :)

    • +1

this type of mower is very light, self propelled is unnecessary.

      • I grabbed the Self Propelled 2022 from Blackwoods and I used to think the same. Surprised how much I use it just for small bits here and there when moving around.

      • +1

Self-propelled is same as 'When you go black you never go back' :)
When the technology is developed and given to you, why do you want to keep pushing it.

  • Free shipping would make this deal even better. Any chance of free shipping vouchers OP ?

  • Finished now. Missed out. Shame I was at work
(Edit) mowers that is. Others still up

  • Mowers are back for same price at TOTAL TOOLS
