Salt is good for you. You need it. The anti-caking agent, not so much.

    • +3

      For those interested - https://noshly.com/additive/554/anticaking-agent/554/

      (Unbiased, just a list).

    • +3

Salt is good for you in the right doses.

Too much salt is definitely a killer (literally).

Right amount of salt = good
      Too much salt = poison

and yes it does need to be stated, because A LOT of people consume too much.

    Thanks OP. Will buy 157.

Iodised salt (also spelled iodized salt) is table salt mixed with a minute amount of various salts of the element iodine. The ingestion of iodine prevents iodine deficiency. Worldwide, iodine deficiency affects about two billion people and is the leading preventable cause of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Now I just need a deal on lemons and tequila.

  • bargain for pickling given 1kg is $2 at the shops.

    • +4

Much better to use salt without Iodine for pickling.

  • +4

Great for salting water for boiling pasta. Himalayan rock salt just doesn't dissolve as quickly

    • Also it’s a massive waste of money to throw your Himalayan monk blessed salt in during cooking. Fancy salt is really only of value for the table as it provides nice texture, colour and ‘feel’

      • Actually I couldn't care less about the stupid colour or supposed texture of Himalayan Rock salt.

The only reason I use it is that virtually every brand of sea salt tested worldwide has been found to contain microplastics.

  • +1

    whoa, that's cheap! thanks OP

I think it was meant to be 25 cents off, not priced at $0.25

    • +1

I expect a lot of these "basically free" deals are companies needing to clear stock to avoid Amazon's insane holding fees.

      • +2

That would make sense if it was a third-party seller, but in this case it was sold by Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd, so I suspect it has something to do with Amazon’s dynamic pricing algorithm.

I have noticed that when Amazon is the seller and a product is a new line for them, it is often crazy cheap for a short time.

    Doesn't work for me

    • +3

  • Error

  • Link seems to be not working when adding to cart

Just says "Your cart is empty" after clicking Add to cart. Buy it now same.
