Good deal for members that say stuff like - "This deal was cheaper 2 months ago".

    • +9

Came here to say this. Now I have to go buy one and come back again so I can say it first.

  • Oh no, can’t find car #3 in the set! Wish I had bought this earlier. (Looks at car #2) Hmmmm….

    • I own this one. https://www.popcultcha.com.au/back-to-the-future-delorean-1-…
It's not as cheap but quite nice if you don't find the third. I got mine signed by some of the cast.

      • Thanks heaps for this link. I was looking for a website that sells this stuff but most of them seem to be from overseas.. cheers!

      • -3

I got mine signed by some of the cast.

was Michael J. Fox's signature just a squiggly line? :D

        • +3

          Mate you're on shaky grounds.

        • Username checks out.

  • +6

I just got one for $10 next week

    • +6

You got ripped off. It was way cheaper 6 years after that.

    • Did not.

  • +3

I assume you can't purchase it at the Rhodes store?

    • Only the 2nd one.

  • +2

Also, why is #2 missing the Mr Fusion modification. I can see Mr Fusion on #3 though. That is not right.

If my calculations are correct Marty, car model #1 is the most accurate of the set.

    • +2

They are included in the box, I haven't opened mine yet but according to the back of the box, #1 also comes with the long antenna bit seen in the movie, #2 and #3 come with different colour Mr Fusions.

      • Thanks for clarifying!

  • thanks OP

"Honey, I know there's a financial crisis but I bought a new car"

"Honey, I know there's a financial crisis but I bought a new car 3 new cars"

      FTFY

  • Damn paid $20ea

    • +7

Well, you do have a time machine.

      • failing that (because no gas station until sometime in the next century) - price protection on your credit card

        • Yep I'm a rookie.

That's y I joined ozbargain. I'll gun it to 88 go back in time, not buy it then return and pay $12

  • What makes these collectable? Are they a limited edition and likely to increase in value? Or is it just that they’re Deloreans and nostalgia etc

    • +1

I used a copy&paste title from the previous deal, but you raised an interesting point so I looked it up anyway.
As per Wikipedia (not a credible source I know, but we're on Ozbargain, not uni)

A collectable (collectible or collector's item) is any object regarded as being of value or interest to a collector (not necessarily monetarily valuable or antique). There are numerous types of collectables and terms to denote those types. An antique is a collectable that is old. A curio is a small, usually fascinating or unusual item sought by collectors. A manufactured collectable is an item made specifically for people to collect.

E.g. Lego Collectable Minifigures, Thomas & Friends, Shopkins & others

    • +3

Sold in large numbers so unlikely to rise in value, but if you're a fan of the movie they're a cheap piece of memorabilia

  • This is only collectible if you can sell them in the past.

  • +1

Also there should be at least a version #4 with the train wheels attached

    • They have those on aliexpress, but don't look at the price or you might exclaim "Great Scott Marty!"

    • There actually is a fourth version from the same series with folding wheels for the hover version of II, but it’s much more expensive and wasn’t sold anywhere I saw in Australia.

      • there is a 5th with train wheels

  • +1

You know what they say about a price that's too good to be true…

These are actually just toy models and may not work as you expect. My son took his back to Kmart Eastgardens, where they apologised and gave him a full refund.

    • +2

What did you expect them to do? They are really quite great quality models for the price.

      • +3

He researched the features of the original on Wikipedia so was a little disappointed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeLorean_time_machine

The Geiger Counter picked up no traces of plutonium (maybe it's not included?) and he couldn't even work out how to turn the thing on so it could reach 88 mph and achieve temporal displacement.

Admittedly, it was probably a great quality model for the price.

        • ;)

        • He would never be able to hit 88 even with an original Delorean. The cluster only goes to 85, the movie car had custom dash dials

    • These are actually just toy models and may not work as you expect.

It clearly says on the bottom of the car: "Warning: This model car does not have time travel capability. Seek immediate assistance from law enforcement if you have stolen plutonium from Libyan terrorists in the hopes of developing a time travel machine."

  • +2

    Great Scott!

Bought all 3 at $15 ea 2 weeks ago, if only I could go back in time.

My daughter was born October 21st, 2015. A little fun fact for those who might find it fun. I do.

    • Is she still your lil angel if not you need to buy this car asap.

    • get her a skateboard and holographic hat asap

  • -3

Well it's better and cheaper then stupid Nintendo amiibo figurines (that need to be docked to play certain characters)

Imagine that Nintendo rent a licence for a new upcoming game and the delorean is a amiibo, it would cost $86 dollars.

  • +1

Thanks, got all three from Toombul QLD :)

  • +1

watch the movie Driven on foxtel atm, about John DeLorean

  • +2

    Is this heavy?

    • No.

      • +1

        Hello?

HELLO? Anybody home? Think McFly, think!

  • You should be able to get number 3 in 2015, Just wait.

  • Great scott !

  • Memorabilia places like TaylorMade are trying to sell signed versions of these for a crazy amount. I'd rather just pay $15!

  • +1

Can't believe I didn't make the first comment here!
Oh well, I'll do it next week.

    • McFlyyyyyyyy!!!!!

  • And it's the 30th anniversary of BTTF3 this week.

  • Saw 3 left at Chirmside Brisbane, however it looked like dogs had chewed the last 3 boxes in the condition I saw them in..

    • +2

      Einstein?

      • Copernicus

  • +1

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour… you're gonna see some serious sh*t

  • Ok, bought #2 and #3 today in store.

The wheels on #2 DO NOT fold down (for flight mode). Kids and I (mostly I) were very disappointed. Oddly it also has the 1985 license plate.

Model #3 however is a very good likeness to the movie. This one has the 2015 license plate.

    • There is another version in this same Welly series that has the foldable wheels, but I haven’t personally seen in Australia. It is much more expensive though.

      • And there is a welley with train wheels too. about $50 from china

  • New here!

I went to purchase the Delorean at Kmart and noticed the blue box, didnt have "Delorean" on top of the word "time machine", where as OP your image does have it.

I kind of want it to all look the same, as the word "Delorean" is on the 1st and 3rd Time Machine.

Does anyone know if their Kmart has it (preferably in Sydney?)
