  • so what happened

    • I think sold out, just checked on kogan.

      • It was marked expired just 3 minutes after posted??? ffs

        • yup, another user marked it expired :/

  • You have to be quick…lol

  • +4

Link is usually helpful. Not sure why it has been marked expired because it's still in the marketplace

    https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/buy/digitalstore-brand-new-h…

Usual caveat though, "if it's too good to be true…", this seems it. Plus https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1313431 doesn't bode well (same underlying company, Brus Australia).

But ultimately, this is more like buying from a dodgy ebay seller than DS/Kogan themselves.

    • Thanks mate. Was close to buying until reading through your links.

  • So it is 3rd party seller of Kogan?

  • @freefall101, added the link to kogan. Yes, too good to be true but you never know.
    @vihand, 3rd party seller on dicksmith/kogan

Good price but gee supporting China after they are trying to crush this country into a pulp for daring to ask a valid question?

    • +14

Good luck trying to avoid buying items manufactured in China.

      • +6

Don't know why you got negged.. Its true what you say, a lot of people want to produce products at the cheapest rates… And people want to buy at the the cheapest price… And that's why most things are made in China…

      • +2

Made in China vs Chinese owned, the are two different things

        • But one would suppose buying items manufactured in China would equate to "supporting China" too, no?

    • +2

hmm… been thinking to play by the chinese game as boycotting chinese made stuff, but on 2nd thought i may be have to be all day naked as even undies are made in china… lol

      • -1

Naked or not, even if all of Australia boycotted China, it would be just a drop in the ocean. 27 mil people is nothing when you have just about everyone else buying from China. And if it wasn't for the US, Australia would probably already be a Chinese colony.
Same like how some think Australia should lead in climate change. Yeah… even if Australia was wiped off of the map, that would be the same as killing an ant in an ocean of 7 billion.

If things are to change you need the whole world to unite, but as it is I don't see it ever happening till it is too late. After all McDonald’s is far more important than the world people live in.

Is A71 from Samsung better than this? I really afraid these Chinese brand as found some unknown tracking history while browsing.

    • -1

Of course these phones track you, without any real oversight either. Anyone would be naive to debate that.

The issue I have with this is having to install gaaps/gsuite yourself. Seems annoying if I was spending this much on a phone.

      • +2

You do realise this phone has all the Google apps already right?

        • I thought it was just the Android 10 version that had gaaps installed? But yeah if it has gaaps that makes it a much easier purchase!

          • +1

@incipient: Ye I think the p30 pro has google apps, it's the newer version P40/pro, Mate 30/pro that doesn't have it.

    • +6

P30 pro walks over sammy a71 everyday.

    • +4

Who cares about the porno you watched?

  • +12

If Chinese spies were tracking me, I would think I was doing the world a favour by wasting their resources!

    • +7

They are tracking the phone, and you're wasting no resources. It all goes into the pile of "big data" that feeds their machine learning models.

    T & C’s

All items come in a generic box with generic accessories

  • Thanks OP, have been waiting for this.

  • oppo reno 10x better

    • Is it really?

      • yes i have them both and im pretty sure

  • So is Huawei still running Android?

    • +1

for the P30 Pro yes, and with full google service and support etc

      • Cool, thanks!

  • +5

Great phone happy owner of a P30 Pro.

I would have thought they'd be even less by now but these phones have held up remarkably well due to the final version with GMS.

  • Is there a 128gb version available? I dun need t hat much space

  • Thanks OP. Nabbed one despite all the negative comments you can't please everyone!

Had a Mate 20 Pro - best phone I have ever owned. Smashed the screen with an excited puppy and they wanted 600 to fix.

So got a minor upgrade 👌 great post thanks

    • +1

I had the same reason for the upgrade - smashed Mate 20 Pro screen. A real pity. as I agree that Mate 20 Pro is the best phone I have owned. The face recognition unlock was incredible, as was the long battery life and super quick charging. Unfortunately front camera no longer works properly after screen smash, and fingerprint unlock is a bit hit and miss.

I just got email from Kogan saying they are unable to fulfil the order.

    • Yeah me too. Don't know if it's Kogan or the seller at fault but it's horse crap

      • +1

Kogan already has a bad reputation here.

    • same happened with me unable to ship the order
