How the hell can ovh.com.au (ABN: 61 612 612 754) continue to post prices in USD excluding GST??

  • What do you use this service for ? Can it be used as a file server ?

    • Hello orangeblossom,
As long as you can do the setup and manage your own server you can use our cloud services for any use case.
OVHcloud provides computing power, storage and network you require for your applications (OVHcloud is essentially a Iaas - Infrastructure-as-a-Service).
      Hope this helps

    Crazy cheap pricing for IaaS.
    Just as s comparison, Azure DS13-2 v2 (2vCPU, 56GB RAM, 112GB SSD) = USD $0.798/hr = USD $582/m.
    Compared to Rise-LE-1, USD $93/m

    Supports managed k8s.
    Pulumi has an OpenStack provider

  • "is valid for 2 months" - come on rep! make it good for at least a year.

  • I've tried OVH and I found the user interface for managing VPSs very slow and clunky compared to DigitalOcean or AWS. The support response time was also very, very, very slow. The VPS I created couldn't get to the APT servers that were in the sources list, so I ended up changing them to different servers that worked.

The VPS itself seemed OK, although I didn't use it much and ended up just dropping it and using DO and AWS despite the higher cost. Reviews don't shine though: https://au.hostadvice.com/hosting-company/ovh-com-reviews/
    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.ovh.com
    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.ovh.com.au

Note the last one is specifically OVH AU/NZ and the reviews are not almost universally awful like the others - but there are a lot fewer reviews too.

But they are cheap, so if you don't need per-second VPS billing etc you can just give it a go
