      sure, but value is something an individual choice. this year i was traveling asia, europe, and south africa for 7 months with temps ranging from below zero, snowing, to over 30 deg celcius and i was able to minimise my load by only packing half a dozen icebreaker merino garments (plus undies and zip off trousers and a softshell outer) which i already had from various hikes and stuff i've done. they have lasted the distance and more, they are comfy. btw don't believe the no smell claim, that didn't work at least not for me. i didn't pay full retail of course…

        I own a realfleece and the no-smell thing works crazily well for me. I've taken it on various multi-day bushwalks and it does not smell at all. Also after bonfires it is the only item on myself (including myself!) that does not smell like smoke.

        They are crazy expensive but extremely effective as well.
