  • Just want to confirm this has the mopping function?

The Ecovacs website does not mention anything about mopping feature.
    https://www.ecovacs.com/global/deebot-robotic-vacuum-cleaner…

    • Can't see much about this either would be good to get more info.

      • THis is in the comments on the amazon page. But I think that might mean it's can't vacume and mop at the same time and you might need to manualy swap the tank

"D710 is doing promotion now, buy D710 get a water tank.
This D710 originally doesn’t have a mopping function, and an additional water tank is required to implement the mopping function.
This is a bundled package. You need to add the D710 and the water tank to the shopping cart first, and then purchase them together. The amount will be automatically reduced. D710 and water tank will be sent to you by Amazon.
        Thanks, "

    • This machine originally doesn’t have a mopping function,so this water tank and dust box need to be replaced in order to achieve mopping and sweeping. Thanks.

      • Thanks. How is this different to other robot vacuum cleaners WITH mopping feature? for example Roborock S6?
It's difficult to find reviews that use the water tank mopping feature since it was originally sold as a vacuum only product.

Otherwise I would save $100 and buy the vacuum only product.

  • SAME as the ALDI one?

    • could you pls provide model name? I can check if the same model.

        DEEBOT OZMO 900
This comes with the mopping add-in.

        • The 900 has SmartNavi 3 with laser mapping and guidance, the 710 here has SmartNavi 2 with camera guidance.

Usually with a camera unit you need the lights on so it can see, so the laser mapping imho is a lot better. You can typically tell these units by the raised mound on top for the laser to shoot 360 degrees.

I've got the Deebot 920, awesome unit.

          • @LowRange: 900 does a great job on the tiles, including mopping.
On the carpet - no so good (obviously, no mopping).
            The mapping system is outstanding.

            • @cristtos: That's interesting my 920 does a brilliant job on vacuuming both carpets, tiles and wooden floors. It cleans better then the Roborock S5 v2.

But mopping the Deebot i found just average, but i have a lot of highly polished red cedar wood flooring which shows up streaks. So i usually do this with a steam mop.

But yes the mapping has been outstanding for me too.

              • @LowRange: I could not figure out how to put a virtual fence. I am using a crate at the moment :)

                • +2

@cristtos: It needs to complete a full clean on Auto and return to the dock before it saves the map. Then you just click the Map icon, tap the picture of your map then click "Virtual Boundary".

It's much easier to do if you have it on a tablet with a big screen because when drawling the virtual wall, it has guide lines on each end that extend longer then the virtual wall and it's harder fit them on the screen and to get right on a phone.

It had me scratching my head for a bit too until i also put the app on a 10" tablet, but after that it was easy and i have all the rooms divided, labelled so i can clean only specific rooms and have a number of virtual walls and schedules setup.

The other thing that had me scratching my head which i found by accident is how to delete a schedule, you need to drag the schedule left which reveals a red delete button.
