Perfect for when I wake up after a big night out and forget where I parked my capsule

Great! Now I'll know which satellites I'm mooning at.Hope the photos turn out, lol.

  • This is a great app. thanks

  • Anyone think of Cartman?

Are you referring to the Dawson's Creek Trapper Keeper Ultra Keeper Futura 2000 by any chance?

  • There’s been a few of these apps around and the quality tends to vary. Some were great many years ago but have since become paid and lost most of their features. Others just have a few objects like ISS. Really frustrating as the information is public domain - I’d pay for a good interface but many are lacking in this area.

Have you tried the website www.heavens-above.com ?

      • Click on "location" at the top-right of the screen, and enter your latitude and longitude and timezone. For Sydney, try -33.9 lat, 151.2 long, GMT+10.
      • Click "update" to return to main page
      • Click on "daily predictions for brighter satellites"
      • Lots of satellites passing over your location will be listed. Note that "morning" really means "just before dawn" and "evening" means "just after sunset", as you can't see the satellites at other times.
      • Click on the blue "highest point - time" for any of the satellites, and it will show you a sky map of where you'll see the satellite.

For example, for your location, the next good (evening) ISS pass will be on June 20, between 6:18pm and 6:22pm. The ISS will pass almost directly overhead.

Don't forget to click "update" every time you change anything, the website design is really old!

For tonight (1 June 2020), it lists 200 visible satellite passes - an oddly round number, perhaps it stops at 200? This is with minimum brightness set to "5.0".

  • Can you track Dragon Crew with this app? Only satellite and ISS

    • Not until the app is updated

  • +1

Perfect timing, can watch the ISS's location to see how Dragon Crew is going.
