They don't seem to be on the shelves in many stores where I am (any that I'm aware of)…but still chugging along.
There's a new flagship APS-C body due later this year, and a handful of new lenses on the way too, including a 21mm weather resistant Ltd lens for full-frame, and a new DA* (premium) standard 2.8 zoom to replace the much maligned DA*16-50 2.8. Pentax has some nice glass available, which is part of what makes it such an interesting brand.
Got bought out by Ricoh in 2011 who don't seem to be marketing the brand much in Australia.
Quick google shows body is around the 900 mark and that lens is around the 400 mark.
But not from CRK. Its not a bad deal but not the best. If it had a Pentax lens with it, I might be tempted. Sigma too heavy for me.

Yes…I see a kit lens combo. There's a combo with the 40mm pancake too…actually not a bad little lens.
The Sigma is actually a pretty decent lens. Constant 2.8 means it may be a bit heavier than a kit zoom, but it will certainly be better. This is a good combo, capable of very nice photos.

Don't forget, any Pentax K-mount lens, regardless of age will fit this camera. There are literally thousands of options available, many are very cheap!
I used to have a Pentax KR. Great memories with it. Haven't heard the name for quite a while.
