I purchased the LG scanner mouse approx 2 weeks ago and love it. It might be a bit pricey for some, try getting it through work :)

yeah, you can convert it to text (word) or tables (excel) etc. It's pretty easy to use (even the non-tech people here at work has use it with ease). No, I don't work for LG or OW, lol…
The only downfall so far, is that the font size has to be 10pt or larger.So, if you are in the middle of working with a document and you are looking at what you need to type in, you can just run the mouse over that bit of the paper and highlight or something what text you want?

ergh 350 MB memory before scanning -> 1.2 GB to scan an A5 piece of paper :S

It looks like this mouse is exclusive to officeworks, so can't really say it's a bargain.
What's more, when you click through to page seven of the catalogue, the advertised price is actually $129.00. So many levels of fail.
