  • What type of defects can we expect as a factory second from Breville?

    • Factory seconds are made up of:
      - Carton damaged.
      - Ex-demo.
      - Minor blemishes.
      - Manufacturer refurbished.

All come with a 7 day satisfaction guarantee (see website for more info) and a 12 month Breville Warranty for peace of mind.

  • Any reviews of this coffee machine?

    • There are some good reviews of the unit here from a bunch of different users:

      • If I buy the factory second product and it breaks down within 12 months, will Breville replace it with a new one?

  • If the product does indeed break down within the 12 month warranty, just like you would a new Breville product, you would take/send it to one of the many Breville authorised service centres located around Australia and they will repair it under warranty.

A list of the service centres is located here: http://tinyurl.com/3wz55dr

Got mine today. For anyone who is interested in knowing, the unit I got was a refurbished second (written in a slip which came with the machine). It came in an average condition brown box with 800ES written with a texter on it. The machine looks old with scratches, slight dents and the wording on the machine is worn out (so it should be pretty old). Tested the machine by running water through the brew head and water that came out was brown with coffee residues from previous user. I had to run 6 cups of water before I get a clear water with minimal residues. So I think it is reasonable to assume that the machine has not been cleaned before packing into the box - which raises the question of the definition of refurbishment.

WOW! That sounds absolutely disgusting. Will stay clear of this website and go to Breville or Sunbeam factory outlet instead…

It seems like they didn't service the machine, if I were you, I would return it because you'll have issues.

Servicing coffee machines is quite costly especially when the technician has to come to your place.

Then I recalled that the rep posted here that it is backed by 7 days money back guarantee. Went to the page to search for details and realised I would not be able to get the original shipping cost back ($26.95) and I would have to pay for the shipping to ship it back. So much so money back guarantee.

I did send them an email stating that it should be advertised as a refurbished second instead of a factory second (I don't know if it is just me but they give me a different perception of the product) but that was before I realised the machine hasn't even been cleaned. The email hasn't been responded to, and I am not sure it ever will.

I am posting it here so that future buyers could make a more informed decision, I couldn't find any reviews on this company before I purchase it.

        • As a standard precaution I NEVER buy anything from web sellers which do not disclose their physical address.
If you do a search on their web site there is no address.

From what I can see they bought a few of second hand machines for $50 each and even for less then they pretend to sell as refurbished without servicing and saving more money.
