Will cashrewards be upping the cashback for Repco promo as well?

    • +2

      I would like 20% again.

  • -7

Penrite is already 30%, will the discount increase on Saturday ?

    • I am hoping it will hit 40 percent and cover the 10 tenth bottle.

    • Wow, why so many downvotes?

      • User had a random neg attached to the comment originally

        • +1

Oops, mis click but that's what you get !

          Any answers?

Losing value, it's on clearance !
    Or perhaps gaining momentum.

  • Any chances of stacking doscount? exclude cashreward…

only for those products not already in discount ?

  • +1

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

Shame we cant pay with gift cards it seems. @tigharse can you confirm the "may not be" part?

    • +1

I’ve used gift cards before no problem for cash back, perhaps that changed but worth a try I guess.

    • +3

"May not be" is corp-speak for "is not," unless it's in their interests in which case it means "it is."

      • -1

And every time you read "may" it means will if it's anything to do with your personal data.

"Anonymised" always means able to be de-anonymised. COVID tracker data is not anonymous to anyone that knows your Bluetooth ID. Which is Google if you use Android.

Woohoo my laziness this week paid off.
Wanted to call in on my way home from work for A few things I wanted, but couldn’t be buggered. 👍🏼

    • +1

What is the opposite of lazyman tax?

  • Do you have to have a car to go to super cheap auto? If not why does everyone go with a car then.

    • +2

      Insert PhilosopherRaptor.jpg

    • I'm almost certain there is no requirement to have a car in order to attend an sca store. The reason most do is because most of the stores are in out of the way places, and if you are tempted to purchase something large or heavy or both, you would find it very difficult to get home without a car

      • +1

Ah so heavy like what, the same could be said for Bunnings.

Seems everything these days relies on a car, but in regards to super cheap auto, I thought it was the norm to drive there and pick up car related stuff, because last time I went there practically all the customers were car loving folks except except for one bike rider.

        • +4

Perhaps your clue to why could be in the store name……just a thought

    • +1

Most of the stuff they sell is car related. If you want something that is not car related, who cares then? Go grab what you want! Nobody will judge you man.

For me before I had a car I never went because the location is inconvinient, and bunnings usually has a better range for non car stuff

      • +1

Ah I have no need for a exhaust pipe, I was just curious as it's super cheap auto, but Bunnings for sure it's got some deals, but nothing super cheap.

        • +2

Hahaha, super cheap isn't super duper cheap either. ;)

It is almost the bunnings of the car world. Decently cheap, you can probably find cheaper elsewhere, but hey its convinient.

Supercheap do have things like tools if you have a need for those.

    • +2

I walked to SCA, bought a sledgehammer / block splitter and carried it home.

    • -4

people go with a car because it’s easier to get stuff home ….some of those socket sets are too bulky and heavy to get home on a skateboard or bike, unless maybe on a bike if you have a deliveroo back pack.

    • Maybe you should walk to SCA and grab a car battery and take it home.
Let us know how it goes

      • Done that. Not difficult honestly.

        • Alright, how about one of these: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/kincrome-kincrome-hydrau… - weighs 47.5kg, have fun carrying that all the way back home, still in its packaging box.

          • @Zachary: I bought one of these from Autobarn when they had their sale recently, you definitely want to take your ar for that one

            • @Jackson:

you definitely want to take your ar for that one

Assault Rifle; yes, we'll need to carry guns into the shops. 😜

  • Anyway perfect timing I discovered in the recent Sydney rain my wipers need replacing. Looks like a trip to sca on Saturday.

    • If you're a club member, just go grab them whenever… If the price drops inside a 2 week period they credit you the difference.

      • +3

The real LPT is in the comments

      • +3

That's all well and good unless you don't require anything from supercheap 28 days from when the credit is applied.

        • -1

If you can't find anything to buy from SCA in the space of 1 month what the heck are you doing here… Haha

    • +3

*Insert my standard comment - Did you try a green scour pad on the blades themselves first? Also a proper clean / degrease of the windscreen. Makes heaps of difference.

I only replace broken wipers. If they are just simply not cleaning properly, a scrub will fix that.

      • The blades are 3 years old the same ones on car when was new. May as well just replace them. Only $60 anyway.

        • +1

If you have greasy window with contamination no wiper is going to fix that for you, be it $60 or $600.

        • +2

3 years..$60!! They will scrub up fine.

        • +1

Nah, just windex / detergent etc with a nylon pool algae scrubber or similar. See this thread

@tunzafun001: I get my windscreen clean with a simple razor and window cleaner. After I give it a light polish with nufinish car polish and it helps keep water spots away for a while. Also helps the wipers run smooth and bead water. The blades I just spray degreaser on a rag and wipe them and then give them a wash with soapy water. Works a treat, had the same wiper blades for at least 6 years.

      • Mine are pretty much screwed on my civic. I tried after a wash with nanolicious but it hasnt helped. Might try the green scourer with morning fresh on the screen before i entertain the nrw wipers

      • thanks for the pro tip, i will be doing this over the weekend to try and improve my fairly young wiper blades, as they screech like hell

      • Try clean the blade with wd40.

  • Any of their drill is good?

    • +3

Depends on your needs… They are not commercial quality tools. In fact they're not even home enthusiast level tools IMO. They're light-duty occasional use tools.

Their product range is also very narrow, and would benefit much more from a known cordless tool brand with an extensive tool selection.

    • I bought one of their drills for about $30. It did the job when I made a garden plant boxes using treated pine. It is also handy for small jobs around the house (drilling holes on plasterboard for wall hanging hook).

  • What about headlight restoration kit? Any recommendation?

    • +1

Just wet sand and seal it with clear coat

      • +1

Dude, you're sure? Sound straightforward, but also scared I can make it worse

        • +1

As helloozb said, sand and clear them. The kit is pretty much the same thing just much more $$$$$.

Shouldn't cost you more than $10-15 sandpaper and clear. Depending on how yellow they are you might need a couple of different papers.

I've done mine in the past and come up mint. I think I used 1k and finished off with 2k grit paper.

      • +1

        Just wet sand

        Yes

and seal it with clear coat

No. Just finish with a very fine wet sand, then a polish. That's usually what the headlight restore kits are. No clear coat will last on a plastic headlight, except for a specialist headlight clear coat. But they really don't last any longer than a good polish.

        • A good polish after sanding will only last a couple of months till the sand marks come back up.

I know because I've done it in the past. Best to hit with clear coat after sanding

          • +1

@Bretttick: If the sand marks are coming up, you're not going down to a fine enough grit. 800-1200 will work, but up to 2000 will save a bit of polish time. By the time it's polished it should be a completely flat surface.

            • @Spam Service: I finished off with 3000 that time, that's very fine, did a Polish after months headlight came up dull fine scratches.

I'll do it properly next time I can be bothered with clear coat to finish

              • @Bretttick: The clear coat is actually easy to apply, the main thing is taping off the area so you don't over spray on your car. I have done it following chrisfix's YouTube video, probably the best one tgat I had seen, the only issue I had was the clear coat I got turned out not to be UV stabilised and after a couple of months it yellowed. But when I first did it it came up amazing.

I will do it again one day when I have time, but the car is with a relo so I don't really have access

    • +3

Isn't toothpaste the fix for headlight restoration?

      • Depends on the condition. Toothpaste won't do much.

        • I tried this and it did absolutely nothing

      • +2

I've used this in the past, if the headlights a little yellow, toothpaste surprisingly works great. Toothpaste will only do so much. It also adds fresh breathe to your headlights 😂😂

    • Honestly if theyre just foggy and not cracked at all the cheap single vottle of turtle headlight conditioner stuff worked great by itself buffing with a rag.

Best to avoid sanding and abrasives unless absolutely neccessary

  • Any opinions on their seat covers?

    • +1

If your car has seat airbags make sure your seat covers are compatible

  • Need shock absorbers for my Kluger rear and front. Is Monroe a good brand?

The original ones are still on but driven 190000 already.Time to replace them?

    • Monroe's are good, if the price is right change them. You can stretch out the old ones but I'd say you have another year or so max

    • The only way to really test them in a vehicle is to put a few hundred kilograms in the boot and go over driveways or speed bumps and have someone video the car.

Other than that, on visual inspection (damage or leakage) or taken off and put into a shock testing machine.

I would usually recommend a replacement by 100-150k anyway.

  • will this start online at midnight?

    • Would like to know that as well.

      • I'll tell you in 50 minutes

        • Maybe

  • Looking for a new double din stereo that has Android Auto and dual Bluetooth. Anyone recommend a model to keep an eye on for discounted price?

    • +2

I'm eyeing off the Sony XAV-3000 or JVC KW-M745DBT for Android Auto. They looks pretty similar in terms of features/screen/quality.

I like the flush look of the JVC more, but physical buttons would be better when driving.

  • Can I pay in-store with instant egiftcards in this sale?

    • +1

      Yes

      • +1

        Thanks

  • +6

Is discount applied at cart? can't seem to get it to work

    • +1

Same here, are we missing a coupon code or do we have to try later on in the day

    • same, no change in price even in cart.

      • +1

So glad I stayed up for this

    • +2

I can some items getting discounted but not the ToolPro brand

      • The jacks and stands are

  • Banners going up at 12am and end time of 11.59pm suggests it's live. Some of the prices have adjusted sale prices in red, hover over them - alt tag: sale price.

Other items which haven't dropped, in black, also show sale price when you hover. I'm guessing some items aren't included. Day to day price = already on sale price?

    • Dick move by Supercheap if so, and I see what you mean. Storewide*

      *excludes most of store

  • This is MISLEADINGF

    Their T&C state "
Discount is Off Regular Retail Price
Sale excludes clearance, items already on sale, bonus buys, tyres, services, the purchase of gift cards and shipping charges"

Well I look at a number of items and noticed that there is NO discount.
How can they say "sitewide" misleading.

I was looking at car covers as well, no sales there!
    I agree with g452 and turboN13.

TOTALLY MISLEADING..as a lot of items don't fit into the exclusions defined by the T&C on the Sale!

  • Most of the things have NO discount at all…. really misleading….

  • Was going to get some engine oil but still same regular price :(

  • 2 of of 60 hand tools on the first page are discounted, the rest have been inflated to RRP

UPDATE: this was 94 last week, is now 127 after discount

    • Nothing illegal about discount the product and bringing back to RRP

      • The initial neg was because nothing included the "discount". However when the website was updated to include a discount, they were still significantly cheaper the week prior.

  • 25 - 50% off RRP Sitewide

Well I'm calling bs on this. I'll remove my neg if the site prices change (Exc. T&Cs) in the next 23 hours.

231 sheeple must have had success though…

  • I'm hoping it's a genuine screw up, other wise this is an extremely misleading and dishonest promo.

I'm tempted to check my local at opening time but I also don't want to waste the fuel on the chance it's the same as the website.

Edit: will remove my neg if it turns out to be a mistake.

  • +2

Some of the items jacked up the price!

    • Yeah, all three items I've been watching have been jacked by 10%, then 25% off, so still less ~13%

  • Was going to get a bissell spot clean carpet shampooer. Will go to TGG commercial to grab one for $175.

    • Yeh, me too price was jacked. What a rip.
