        Check your eBay summary

        • Nothing in mine

          • @Pricebeat: They also get sent to you in the eBay plus emails.

            • @rith: Just got on chat as I never received such emails.

              edit: they said

For the $5 voucher, this was a signed up promotion for those members who joined the free trial and moved to paid subscription.

@Pricebeat: She's telling you bulsh8t. I never moved to paid subscription I got the $5 via email

                • @[Deactivated]: It was an offer when joining eBay plus, you may or may not have had a different offer when joining eBay plus.

                  • @rekkore: Huh, interesting. I signed up while they were doing a $50 gift card promotion but I never received that so I'm surprised that I have this "offer" instead. Pity I never really have a reason to use the $5 voucher as I need to spend $50 to use it and it can't be combined with other vouchers rendering it useless when I do buy from eBay.

  • Do these offer similar functionality as the Google nest hub?

    • I've never used the Google Nest. But we have the Lenovo in the kitchen and use it for recipes, music, adding to the shopping list, controlling the heater and aircon, adjusting the telly etc.

It's not as good.. more like taking the Nest Mini and adding a screen to it. Can't play videos or photos..

    • Nest hub is better than the Lenovo 7" Smart display. I have both and audio is better on the Nest Hub. I bought the Lenovo thinking the camera could be used like a security camera like the Nest Hub Max but was disappointed when I found out it couldn't. But the lenovo I got was in a bundle with a bulb and socket for $129 so was ok for the price.

I would rather go for echo show 5 for $79 and could stack with the 10 off app offer if you are eligible that’s making it to $69
Also you can pay 199 for 2 Lenovo display 7 at job or HN with far more functions

    • How do you get the $10 off?

    • any reason why the echo show 5 is better than the lenovo?

But then you're using Amazon services, literally Apples and Oranges.

Hate to be one of those but what you said is the exact opposite of 'literally'. (figuratively)

        • Yes people who do that are literally stupid

I had this and returned it. I really wanted to love it - personally, I wanted it in the bedroom, where I don't need to watch videos or see digital photos. But it constantly disconnected from a modem that was just 10 metres away with no walls (our bedroom has a glass slider), often refusing to show up in my Google Home speaker groups for Chromecasting. Worst of all, because we have a baby in the same room and we like to chromecast White Noise to it, it would arbitrarily disconnect - which bubba didn't like at all! A bunch of hard resets didn't help either. I am now pretty wary of Google Home devices from third parties - I also had to return my JBL Link 10. Have had no problems with my Google Nest Home devices.

It also doesn't have the Google Home control panel. I've since replaced it with a Google Nest Hub that I got for $109 (thanks to the TGG $20 voucher when they screwed up the Nest Hub Max price),. The video and google photos are a bit unnecessary, as expected, but being able to turn off smart lights from bed is terrific.

Interesting, I've got one in my bedroom that i use as an alarm clock playing radio in the morning. I also use it for spotify in general, never ever had a disconnect and my modem is the other side of the house.

  • Love mine but really wish in general apple music would stream through these. It's why I am tempted with the echo

  • I think Echo Show 5 is a better product for this purpose. It's $79 everywhere these days.
