Good price, has been between $60-$90 for some time with this the all time low.

This Flextorq is interesting too - has anyone ever used it and has an opinion?

    • I have some, they are pretty good, tips seem to hold up well and haven't broken any yet. They haven't done a lot of work yet or hard any super hard jobs though.

    Imperial not metric?

Well USA does use imperial. It looks like it would be the sockets and allen keys.

It would be a great deal if it were free postage. Some might like to look in their local Bunnings —> https://www.bunnings.com.au/dewalt-flextorq-impact-driving-k… it is a smaller kit (31 piece) but is also FLEXTORQ and only $25.

Looks like the same 31 piece set is on Amazon (available as on option on same page as the 40 piece set) for $39.80. It might be worth checking for other options at Bunnings to see whether other competitively priced metric sets are available before jumping on a cheap DeWalt imperial one.

  • Mine just arrived, could someone explain to me what the piece on the bottom left of the image is/does? It's a long black philips head piece with a sliding metal bit over it.

    • It's a magnetic holder to keep your screws/fasteners from falling off when driving into work piece. It just sits loosely and slides slightly towards your screw when when you place it on the bit…very handy. I too purchased this kit recently and very impressed with the "easy bit removal".

      • Wow, thanks for the response! Yeah I think that will come in handy. I am also impressed with the 'easy bit removal'. I had bought the bosch set that was listed recently but returned it because it was so difficult to remove the bits that it hurt my fingers, i had to return them. This set though, is amazing!

I do agree it's a nice set especially with the easy removal system! I've actually swapped over some of the less used bits with metric socket bits (10, 8 & 7mm) to complete it.

That little magnetic sleeve itself is worth it for me - cheapest I can find is $13 plus postage on Amazon or $27 on Ebay AU - the Bunnings kit variants do not include it. Also, if you didn't know, the sleeve can be pulled off with force and used with other extended bits.
