    Just an FYI.
I bought one of these from amazon last month. Initially impressed, however after a few days it was slow and miserable to use. Battery life was ok. screen was nice but no good to use while driving if you use polarised lenses (unless it’s straight on).
I ended up returning mine as it had a intermittent fault where by the ringtone randomly sounded like it was underwater. It wouldn’t do it all the time, maybe 40% of the time. But all of that was enough for me to hate using it after a week.

I used to like Nokia’s, I had high hopes for this one. But I think at this price it’s still too much. I paid 390ish for mine. Just my honest opinion. YMMV.

    • I believe polarised lenses are not to be used for driving.

        Not really true, please Google

      • Really? Did not know that. TIL.

      • Why not?

lcd screens have issues with polarised sunglasses ….. oled might work with polarised because they emit light in all, directions rather than depending on polarization plane of the lcd cell when activated and backlighting.

driving with polarised sunglasses, the issue is laminated windscreens and when light hits at certain angles the stress in the glass goes blotchy ……

      • Certainly true for flying - because of the glass cockpits in use today. Instruments are shown on LCD screens. Pilots know not to use them

Not sure about driving though. Unless you've got an LCD display instrument panel I wouldn't think it would be an issue. The windscreen going a bit blotchy with color fringes is not really a problem.

A quick search shows nothing on Google about driving recommendations against them.

        • When I want / need to wear sunglasses for driving, I always wear polarised glasses. So much less stress on the eye as it cuts out so much glare, even handy for driving in foggy conditions. Never had an issue with looking through the windscreen. The rear window, yes, due to the tinting, but nothing so bad that I can't see. As for looking at my phone, I turn it 90 degrees- from upright to sideways - and can see the screen perfecrtly.

Conversely, I've been using one for a couple of months now after upgrading from a Nokia 7.1 plus and haven't had any issues.

      Some thoughts:

      • One of the rare phones that supports two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.
      • Android One so frequent security updates (on June 2020 security patch) and will be updated to Android 11.
      • Not sure about value of the Google Assistant button on the left side. Some may like it.
      • Ambient mode is nice.

I thought mobiles were not to be used while driving.

      • If they are in a phone holder you can use them.

      • Well, you can use for Maps, as long as you set it up before driving.

  • Any carrier support for VoLTE or voice over WiFi?

  • Maybe realme 6 would be a better choice. 409 Kogan delivered, Australia stock.

perhaps- Realme 6 is faster, faster charging, bigger battery, 4 cameras, but not Android One phone, both IPS screens ;(

i have the 7.1 plus and love the regular security updates from nokia, 2 year old phone and it got upgraded to android 10, and the generic android one interface …..
has been rock solid phone, would buy 7.2 if i needed a new phone, but will wait to see what nokia has when android 11 comes out.

        • I think you mean the Nokia 7 Plus from this link, https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_7_plus-9058.php

I missed a few of those early deals on the 7 Plus and ended up getting the Nokia 6.1 which although a well build solid phone, never liked the boxy form factor and really slow to update google play apps.

A friend was looking for a mid range phone with a good camera, with local stock, and I filtered it down to this Nokia 7.2 and the Xiaomi A3. Both have good cameras and Android One.
I wanted to like this phone. After watching some reviews, we decided for the $299 A3. For starters, it is quite a good price. Second, it completely smashes the Nokia in battery life. 3rd was the fast-charging capability, present in the Xiaomi only.
The only downside for the A3 was the 720p screen. For this user specifically, this isn't a issue.
