    are these good?

    • +2 votes

Yes, I brought a set about a month ago. The quality is very high.
It has the thickest bases available (6.4mm), as I specifically went for saucepans with the thickest base for optimal use of gas cooktops.

The stainless steel is 18/10, which is the highest quality. It's fine for the dishwasher, etc.

The frying pan is stainless steel, so it only really suitable for use with lots of oil or low heat (unless you like cleaning). So you are best to stick with you non-stick or cast iron frying pan for your bacon and eggs.

    It's a good price but it's 15-20% off, not 70% off.

Those don't have free shipping. Catch has $11 for pickup at Target. Otherwise this is more than 20% off.

I think we can agree that while it's a good price the RRP is incredibly misleading.

Saw this before and was gonna post but then saw other places close to this price and not that much of a bargain

  •

someone said in the other pan post, the pans are sticking due to the thin base
    no deal

      How's 6.4mm thin?

  •

These are good, yes, but cast iron are better. I spent around $300 for a scanpan set around 12 years ago. have used them extensively over the years. Then bought some cast iron from Amazon by Lodge around 3/4 years ago. The scanpan stays mostly packed away since then, and only used as backup.

If you're spending this much on cookware, consider Estelle or Woll. Scanpan does tend to wear out after a few years, whereas the others will last a lifetime if cared for.

Where are these going to wear out? At the rivets?

      •

Ours are into their 4th yr. Still going strong.

Yeah, I have one that is over 10 years old and is pretty much as good as new. Can't go too wrong when it is 18/10 stainless, hence my question.
