        • nope, they told me they would send email for updates, and i haven't received any email yet.

    • +1

Same here. Called Microsoft and they said they will "remove" the error on my account that is blocking payments and will put the order through in an hour or two

  • -8

A fancy design on an old console? What's that saying again.. 'you can't polish a turddd'. Maybe if it was a PC case I'd grab it, as i could upgrade the parts over time. I understand some people like collecting, but yeah, nah.

    • +1

As if the Xbox One X was ever a turd. It was the fastest game console on the market.

  • +2

Happy to help out if anybody wants to use the Amex offer

    • Pmed

    • Yes please tell me how?

    • +2

Offer used up now. Please no.more PMs 😅

    • +2

LOL hope this doesn't (or maybe does) lead to another https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/529062

      • Thanks for that mate. That was highly entertaining to read. There's some real life Sherlock Holmes detective work in that thread. Can't believe how far some people would go to scam a fellow human being.

        • OzBargain: like Anonymous but for bargains instead of politics.

  • +2

I just had my EB games one delivered this morning, but had to buy it again as I had the Amex deal saved. Will have to sell one off now :)

    • That's dedication what's the price difference buddy

      • +1

EB games pre order was $440 including delivery, this Microsoft deal got me one for $344.15 after Amex and CR cashback :)

        • -1

That's a awesome price. Might be worth keeping one sealed and selling it if they become rare

          • @Sammy Boi: Thing is that I already own a One X so these both will end up staying sealed! Wasnt really expecting to buy 2 more consoles within a week haha the wallet and mrs wont be happy :(

            • @smurfstah: Definitely sell one as it might make someone's day if they just missed out on this deal.

  • Just return the eb games one if you haven't opened it =)

  • Pity I didn’t save the Amex offer before it sold out

  • Does anyone know if you're able to sell the Cyberpunk 2077 code separately?

    • +2

I have seen in the US that the game is tied to the first account that registers on the console. Not seen anyone in Aus confirm if this is the case here or whether they provide a code which can be sold as usual

      • Unfortunately its tied to the console.

        • Thanks guys

    • +1

No. There is no code. Cyberpunk 2077 is delivered digitally onto your game console when you first run it. So you can't resell it as it's automatically tied to your Microsoft account. I think that it might be the first ever game title which uses Digital Direct to digitally deliver a game to the game console upon console activation.

      • It might not be the first example of Digital Direct, it seems to be a 2019 option that was called Roma and is now live with the recent June 2020 update.

        https://www.thurrott.com/games/xbox/236165/xbox-codename-rom…

        https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/consoles/digital-direct

It's also seemingly tied to the Telstra Xbox One MRO option, where they distribute Forza Horizon 4 and LEGO Speed Champions, etc. Along with XGP etc to the first user to sign in on the console.

Likely it's done via a serial number/batch release for the hardware so it could be revoked or retroactively added in an update for Day One consoles, etc.

And this also lends credence to the rumour of Microsoft leasing hardware with monthly repayments for Series X hardware, but will probably be handed off to telstra to handle the payments and risk / financing.

  • All the Xbox one X bundles are $429 as of today, three choices of games and an S model dropped to $239.
so no need to panic about getting stuck with a console with weird colours.

I bought the one with the racing car game, and checkout went through smoothly.

and if you were Smart you would go through Shopback and get a 17% discount on a TCN him card, so you get this even cheaper

    • That's all good in theory but when it sells out this quick, you will only risk being left with $400 worth of giftcards and no console.

      • -2

Ya gotta live a little man! besides if you wanted to buy an Xbox, you can still buy an Xbox, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, Microsoft is going to be selling them for a long time yet

Not to mention, there is still plenty of Xboxes for sale at $429 today. is only the yellow one that sold out.

        • +2

Well people are buying these because it's a limited edition console. Of course you can buy normal ones.

          • @keejoonc: Can't buy a normal one here any more any where around this part of Central Queensland. No stock left of the normal Xbox One X in Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gracemere, Gladstone or Emerald here in Central QLD. And of course home delivery is greyed out. Would have to travel a few hours up north to Airlie Beach or a few hours down south to Bundaberg just to buy stock of the normal Xbox One X. And even that won't last long. There is no stock any where around here within a few hundred km be is the normal Xbox One X or a Limited Edition there is just none. And who knows if there will be any more back in store now that Microsoft would have ceased production of the Xbox One X.

And i think i must have bought the last unit in stock of the brand new Xbox One X is Yeppoon yesterday while i was there. I wasn't interested in the Limited Edition as i like the jet black old school console look in the normal version. Reminds me of the old Sega Megadrive i used to have.

I would say within a few months there will be no brand new Xbox One X stock left at all. It will all be preowned. Just like how it went with the Xbox 360.

            • @hollykryten: The only ones left brand new would be ones scalpers are trying to get rid of. Some people are still trying to get rid of their Gears 5 limited edition consoles for a lot.

  • +1

Why are people bidding on ebay for $600 + when they can buy from the mmicrosoft store for $429?

    • +3

Microsoft only changed the price this morning. wait for the panic to subside

      • ok makes sense. how much was it before?

        • +2

Price wasn’t listed before. Had the page open for the last week waiting for it to go live. Just said coming in June.

        • +1

$549 for all the X's. you can see that on the page.

    • +1

It's because they don't know about this deal. I hope MS releases more stock if possible as I'd rather see that money go to MS rather than scalpers.

  • +2

Alright couldn't resist and bought one.
Don't even have the AMEX deal saved.

  • Showing OOS now.

  • +2

Last week you had to pay $429 as a pre-order before the 12th June (normal price $549). Now it's $429 normal price lol….gonna be some pissed off scalpers.

    • +1

Given that it's free returns, I think they will be ok.

    • +4

Out of Stock, meaning that the last units of the 45000 made were sold.

The scalpers will still be making money!

      • So new version coming soon?

        • Collectors item, only 45k EVER made. It's not just a plain Xbox One X obviously, its for the biggest game this year

  • Back in stock now

Got one with Amex deal - $349 in total, damn good price

  • Managed to grab one! $349, great deal.

  • -8

    CONSOLE OUT OF STOCK

Hi All, I've got the Amex offer from Microsoft for $80 off a $400+ spend which I'm unlikely to use. If a long-time member of OzBargain wants to go halves with me on the discount, we can split it and each get $40 off. PM me if you're interested.

  • Do we know when this console is released? The AMEX T&C says that if it's a pre-order - may not be eligible.

    OFFER TERMS
Excludes pre-order items where the release date is after offer end date.

    • +1

      They're already shipping, so I don't think this counts as a pre-order.

      • Cheers for the clarification

    • +1

The console is officially released today so it should be fine.

    • Today is the release date. 12 June 2020.

  • ordered it around 8am this morning and order status is still pending?

  • +1

If I didn't have the gears five console I would jump all over this. doesn't look very clean in my opinion I love the console but it would stand out like dogs balls with my setup

  • AAAAND THEY'RE GONE FOR GOOD!

    • +1

I'm so glad I was up early watching the PS5 announcement live on YouTube. That was the only way I would've noticed this deal in time.

So many good deals today. Bought this for $429 (still good even though I don't have Amex) and a Switch from Gamesmen eBay deal for $409. Such an expensive month for me but totally worth it.

Now to sell my OG Xbox One. I can finally watch those 4K movies I have that are 4K and Blu-Ray bundled.

      • +1

Sounds like me and you have had a similar day, other than the Switch. Up early for PS5 and grabbed this deal without an AMEX because I was feeling that game hype.

        • I think it's a smart move by Microsoft so they can sell more Xbox One Xs this late in its lifecycle. I held out from upgrading to the X for so long but this was too good to resist.

Considering people have gotten their consoles from the JB Hifi/EB Games preorders, I hope MS will be able to ship this to us soon. I can't wait TBH.

          • @driew: Yeah I’m keen to get it now, just watched an unboxing. I was so scared of it selling out didn’t even check if I could do Cashrewards or anything!

  • This title would definitely hit PS5 soon, maybe in a bundle.

    • So PS5 can do UHD 4k now.

      • Not even a surprise. It's standard.

  • +1

Don't forget to use your Microsoft account linked to your XBox Gamer ID when buying from the store. You will get at least 1 Microsoft Reward point per dollar spent. If you have XBox GamePass Premium, you will get 20 points per dollar spent. You can spend 24,000 reward points to get 3 months of free XBox Game Pass Premium

    • How did link your XBox Gamer ID to your MS account?

      • +1

If you already have a GamerID then you have a Microsoft account, but if you have multiple microsoft accounts, you need to pick the one that is linked to your GamerID

        More info is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/rewards/shop-and-earn?rtc=1

If you don't have a GamerID, but you already have a Microsoft Account, then simple go to xbox.com.au and log in with your microsoft account and then get your GamerID

  • I'm glad its out of stock so I'm not tempted to replace existing XBox One X with this.

    • +1

I felt like that when the EB/JB pre-orders ran out of stock but couldn't resist when this came up again. I knew it would sell out quickly. In my case, I only have the OG Xbox One so this is quite an upgrade for me whereas for you it would only be cosmetic and for warranty purposes.

You better hope this offer doesn't come around again as it'll be harder to resist if it does.

I'm dissapointed with xbox these days, they used to make good consoles but now there are heaps of issues with them. I had an xbox one x for 3 months and it failed, just kept crashing, xbox replaced it under warranty, it's dissapointing as I have had 2 xbox 360s fail on me previously too. The experience when it's working is terrible: slow boot times, constant xbox updates without warning, updates that force you to stay offline before the update is applied, one time I got booted out of a battlefield 1 game without warning for an update to be applied in the evening time not middle of the night or anything. When its not updating the xbox software there are constant updates for the online games, its not more fun to console game with xbox rather than pc anymore, historically part of the fun of consoles has been that you dont have to mess around with settings and can get into a game quickly not wait half an hour frequently, the only reason I went with xbox over pc gaming was that pc often requires work before you play, getting the right hardware adjusting the settings and managing the pc outside of the gaming platform, xbox one x is like pc gaming but lacking a lot of functionality. Screen mirroring a pc through xbox is absolutate trash, low quality image and very slow. Xbox home is a cluttered mess full of advertising, they hide your games away and have these unnecessarily huge tiles limiting information on screen, as if people are using a touch screen. It doesn't remember network passwords so switching networks is a pain, trying to switch from wifi to mobile hotspot is a very slow process and some games require you to start another game then load their game again to work after network switching. Xbox settings cannot be accessed while on game, pretty much nothing useful can be. If you are downloading games from game pass you may also need to download map packs, you cant see the progress of downloads whilst being in game, combine these dlc downloads with the other game updates and xbox game updates and its not fun to play xbox once a week. 1tb is not enough storage when you have all the dlcs downloaded and when you have to switch games while everything updates. To use xbox 360 games you must download huge install files for them even if they have no 4k optimisations. The black of the xbox one x is annoying, Its difficult to see the ports in low light and they have positioned them all pretty close to one another, theres only one usb on the front which is a pain if you want to maximise cord length and minimise cord pull with multiple controllers.

    • +12

I think the enter key is broken on your console, too.

    • I mean, pretty much everything you said is entirely accurate and i share a similar sentiment.
If only you had of used the enter key you wouldn't have been negged into oblivion haha

      • LOL I didn't neg, but pretty much spot on.

I agree the guy's not wrong. As much as I've loved my Surface Pro laptops, I've had no end of trouble with them. The ONLY saving grace has been the ability to walk into the one and only Microsoft Store in Sydney CBD (not all that convenient) and have faulty units replaced with a higher spec machine on the spot due to the lack of replacement models available.

But in this case I don't think I'd be able to walk in there next year with a broken XOX and walk out with a an XSX, LOL. First time with an Xbox console. Will see how we go (assuming the order even goes through).

  • Has anyone who has ordered this found their order stuck on "pending" ?

    • mine is. hopefully just means they haven't shipped yet

      • There would just be a huge backlog of orders yet for them to ship out.

  • How does this Cyberpunk XBOX One X compare to other limited edition console that were made over the years including the Project Scorpio?

  • +1

Bought one… don’t need one. Don’t know if I regret buying lol.

    Already got a Scorpio edition!

    Ozbargain you kill me sometimes!

    • +2

      Same here haha

      • if you want to resell if pm me.

    • yep, bought one too.
barely get to play my old 360 and now (last turned on during the Xmas/NY holidays) I've gone and bought one of these

      • +1

Sell your old 360 console on Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree. Keep the 360 games that are backwards compatible on the Xbox One that you still want to play.

  • Anybody's order moved past Pending status yet?

    • Nope still pending.
They probably have a lot of orders.

  • Looks like back in stock if anyone interested

    • And….it's gone again.

    • +2

I'll take that as a good sign all previous orders will be fulfilled. Was getting worried that they'd oversold their stock and would have to start cancelling orders.

      • +1

yeah definitely a vote of confidence to me, what's weird is that they said they will only charge the amount to my account only when it is shipped. I got charged late yesterday afternoon but my order is still marked as "pending".

        • Got charged as well but still pending.

          • @grizz_li: Just charged today but also still pending. Like frankfu1122 said, MS said they'd only charge me once it was shipped.

  • +2

    I'm still pending, anyone else?

    • +2

      Yep, still pending.

      • Still pending. I hope we get it soon. I've already sold off my OG Xbox One (and backed up my games on an external hdd). That empty space in my entertainment unit is reserved for this bad boy!

        • Yeah mine is still pending. Has anyone had it dispatched yet?

          • @cc23: Also pending

            • @gottacatchemall: Also pending here. Surely they'll ship this week - this is really taking too long.

              • @bailzwhat: Yeah even my switch pre-order from Gamesmen @ eBay arrived quicker. I'll be happy if I get it early next week but I bet it'll take longer than that.

  • Just got off the ol' chat and the rep there assured me that the order has been placed and should be shipping imminently, and that I should expect delivery as soon as Friday 19th. However, given someone else above also said that their expected delivery date is the 19th I wonder if that's just a canned response.

Anyway, we'll see. The fact that they're adamant on their end that the order is fine is somewhat reassuring.

I should also say that my credit card pre-authorisation has disappeared now, which freaked me out a bit 'coz I thought it meant my order was being cancelled, but the MS rep said that it's something that the bank controls, not them.

  • Just spoke to a sales rep on the phone which has taken me the better part of an hour but they have to "escalate my case" to have the charge reinstated?? Not sure what's going on.

I had the same thing mentioned above with my pending charge being reversed on my credit card… hope the payment processes before the Microsoft AmEx cashback.

    • Yeah I noticed the same thing. The pending charge has vanished, though it shows my "available credit" as exactly my limit minus the Xbox cost (i.e. my card had nothing on it apart from the xbox). Extremely confusing…

    • Same here. What are the chances they delay charging/shipping for 2 more weeks to avoid paying the cashback?
