    • I mean, if card has DP it should be fairly recent and if not has VGA you can easily just open dispute. As all these fake has VGA unless it new scam.

    • I mean if the bloke was trying to scam and sent a bunch of fake GPUS, you just easily win a dispute against him. So what's the point.

      • It obviously must work better than sending a rock, or these fakes would not be so common.
Maybe the seller does not even know they are fake?

        • It only designed to work with people who don't already know the performance of 1050TI, so you get tech-illiterate buying them then just assuming that's the performance you get out of a 1050TI.

          • @Ahumblegod: Exactly. So you will get a refund and "free" crappy card for a lot of hassle. Whats the point?

            • @bargaino: A little bit of a hassle for either 100 real 1050ti which is worth it. Or 100 fake 1050TI and I get my money back or my order gets cancelled. I just see this as a win win

              • @Ahumblegod: OK, I see. If you are buying 100, the economics changes. Good luck!!

        • Im assuming they meant to put it up for $149 and just stuffed the price up. Or just massive mining farm selling all their stuff. IDK either way interesting to see If I get any of the 100 i purchased

  • I just cancelled my order after seeing all the message here. lol….. Thanks bro.

  • Is Kogan's guarantee any good?

Kogan sold me a fake Rubik's cube, and refused to refund.

  • Has anyone mentioned it could be a pricing error? Probably should be $149.70???

So basically these are just ex-cryptocurrency mining cards, right?

    • +2

      very likely.

  • If you look at his Kogan store he just halved the price of everything, most likely price stuff up https://www.kogan.com/au/junchang/?page=2 seeing it was previously up for $99 which for a used 1050TI is pretty fair value coming out of overseas

    • Maybe just sending half the orders out.

    • Where do you see the price history? I hope you are not going by the "Seller's List Price".

"This is the price nominated by the seller on 31 May 2020 for which the same or nearly identical item is being offered for sale or has been offered for sale recently. The price may refer to the seller's own price elsewhere, or the price of another seller. The seller assumes sole responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of this price."

Does it look like JunChang is just dropshipping?

    • That seller sells mostly el cheapo goods with a lot of them still at rip off price even with the price reduction. The seller's name is a brand selling binoculars.

USB 2.0 stick - $30.81 (no size mentioned) and that's after the discount.

It talks about this one specifically.

  • I'm tempted. My HTPC has a 660TI. The only reason I would upgrade is because this has a h.265 hardware encoder. My CPU can't cope with 4k h.265.

JUST $50…! The GTX 1050 Ti Scam

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ItgS6KXI10

just popped up on my youtube feed

    • Nice finding. I quoted your comment.

  • +2

My media PC probably doesn't need the upgrade, but after reading all the comments it sounds like too much fun not to purchase this lucky dip of a card, since it will be exciting to see if it's fake or not.

    • +1

Exactly my thoughts, probably won't get it, probably will get my money back but if I don't $50 for the drama is a small price to pay. Costs that much for a couple to go and watch a 90 minute film. This could stretch out for WEEKS!

  • +1

If this was off Gumtree and listed for $100, I'd question whether it was legit - let alone a third party reseller on Kogan that's shipping from "overseas". Not even worth the effort for a pricing error. Sounds too good to be true so it's likely to be a massive scam.

Bloody youtubers. Seriously a 16 minute video to say "Likely a scam"?

      • I know right

  • video specifically about this deal:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ItgS6KXI10

  • It has been removed from the website

If you paid by credit card or other payment means, funds will reach your account within 5 business days, although often sooner than this.

  • Cancelled too. Either they saw the press about it being a scam and got caught out or people putting in orders for 100 cards messed it up

Wondering if everyone got cancelled as well

    • +1

Mine was cancelled as well. I 50% expected not to receive anything, 40% expected to receive a fake card and 10% expected it to be legit. Did not expect them to up and cancel it, oh well, saves me the hassle of having to refund it in a month or two.

  • Order was cancelled.
    Wasted my time.FXXK

    Ordered 2
Both Cancelled by kogan. Not a huge surprise.
