The S2000MKIII was just released recently, and was available at an introductory price of $499 @ Edifier AU, but they are now currently $574.99.

As an update to the old S2000Pro, these S2000MKIII are more similar to the flagship S3000Pro only with a smaller 5.5-inch woofer (compared to 6.5-inch on S3000Pro) and less power. Also the S2000MKIII uses a wire to connect Left / Right speakers (compared to the S3000Pro’s wireless Left / Right speaker connection).
Also S2000MKIII misses out on the S3000Pro’s USB input.

And with the S2000MKIII being overall smaller than the S3000Pro, in my opinion the S2000MKIII is more suitable for desktop use.

…sounds like a really good update to the product.

    • +2

I could have worded it better. But basically S2000MKIII is an update to the old S2000Pro, making it closer to the higher end flagship S3000Pro model. Hope that makes it clearer.

  • How could this be compared to the s1000db?

    • S2000Pro was a big upgrade from S1000db. S2000MKIII is another revision from S2000Pro.

      • That's great, i was reading very good reviews on the s1000db and was just going to buy it…will go for these

      • And compared to the s3000pro? Just found it for $626 o another deal here….don't want to pay that difference but also I read that it is the flagship…what's your opinion?

        • +1

S3000Pro is larger & has more power to fill a large room, so if you need it pay extra.
If you are using in a medium to small room, and therefore listening closer to the speaker than S2000MKIII should be plenty enough.

          • @thebadmachine: So no difference in terms of sound quality, clarity, distortion…etc?that's what i really care about
            Just power?

            • @Amr911: There will be some slight differences in sound as they are different speakers, but mostly power yes.

Put it this way, on a Desk S3000Pro will be too large and too powerful.
In a Large living room the S2000MKIII may struggle to have a ‘full’ sound.

            • @Amr911: Only 2 left of S3000Pro be quick if you need it.

  • Brah, that's steep drop compared to when I brought for $499 on April.

For real, the OLED LCD that's currently exclusive to S2000MKIII, make's it a worth an upgrade from S1000s.

    • So what's your opinion about it please

      • It's great man. Spent my lockdown life with these speakers on full blast.

Just don't set bass control over +1 from back of the speakers & you gonna have good time.

        • Any idea if the s3000pro worth the upgrade? About $200 more than these…not sure if I should go for it….I didn't want to pay that much but on the other hand its their flagship there..

          • +1

@Amr911: If you value having best sound quality just get it. I dout it gonna be this cheap again anytime soon. S3000Pro & S2000MKIII are the best for their product range. I highly recommended S3000Pro if you have room for where you putting it on cuz it's massive. If not, rollback to S2000MKIII.

Edit: S3000Pro actaully does have LED intecator at front but it's not as refined as S2000MKIII does it.

            • @Rage Roze: Got it, I don't have room for it now, but will manage it out, never thought I would buy these before having a decent home thatre first
              Thank you

  • Should have waited a bit more. Just bought the S2000 pro for 409 a month ago through Edifier store. Arrggggh! Can't fault it though, fantastic speakers.

  • Really good deal for these higher end speakers. I'd be all over this, but i didnt have the space.

  • Comment moved to deal description.

  • Thinking I'll sell my crappy Yamaha 1080 for a pair of these.

    • e235 model comes with subwoofer if that is what you are after.

  • How will the s2000's go close to a wall? My desk is up against a wall so worried they'll be to boomy.

  • I have been looking at the Edifier S350DB for a month now and considering getting them. My main use will be for movie view and watching TV shows. For music I have headphones, so that's why I felt I needed a subwoofer, and the S350DB has one. While I've also considered the these S2000 MKIII's and the S3000 Pro's. Neither of them have a dedicated sub.

Now the upgrade to the S350DB is the S360DB, but it's almost $700 and hasn't been on discount at all over the last month, I have been checking every day for it. Hoping it drops on special. But for anyone with experience, how does the bass on S2000 MKIII's and S3000 Pros compare to the dedicated sub of the S350DB & S360db?

    • It has been awhile since you commented so I will share the following which is my opinion.

S350DB are reported to be bass heavy, so suitable for movies / tv shows if you are after that cinema like sound.
Although if you are used to headphones you may notice a lack in clarity in vocals, which the S2000MKIII’s and S3000Pro will do better with.
S2000MKIII’s and S3000Pro’s will still have ample bass, just probably less quantity than with a dedicated sub like on the S350DB.
So you will be weighing up bass quantity, vs bass quality with clear vocals.

As a headphone user, I think you will appreciate more bass quality with clear vocals (S2000MKIII / S3000Pro).

S360DB is reported to have less bass quantity than S350DB, but better bass quality (a more balanced sound).

      • Thanks, I ordered the S350DB yesterday on Amazon, will see how they perform. They have 30 days money back guaranteed anyway, so I can test them and see if their sound signature is to my taste.

        • Yes Amazon AU has good returns policy.
