SourceTree (Mac Git and Mercurial Client) Currently Free

80

SourceTree is native Mac OS X GUI client for managing Git and Mercurial distributed version control repositories. To celebrate Atlassian's acquisition of SourceTree, they're currently making it available for free. Either

It's available for a "limited time", so I'm not sure when the offer will expire.

  • I might as well download it, I mostly use github and the github client for OSX is great but I guess this might come in handy if I ever need to work with another git host.

        • Oh right, its only useful for team developing. Cheers.

Although I was trolling in a way, I still learnt something lol.

Version control can be useful outside of software development too. For example if you're developing a document over a period of time in collaboration with others you can track and roll back changes.

It is also useful for individual projects if there is a chance you might want to revert back to a previous version.

  • Or Xcode + Port s+ git?
