$10 off (6 Months) on nbn 100/40 ($99), 100/20 ($89) & 50/20 ($79) Plans @ Aussie Broadband (New Customers)

FINDER10EOFY

Hi,

just saw through finder.com.au that they have a coupon for $10 off for six month.

The coupon I guess is to do with the EOFY

The code is: FINDER10EOFY

Here is the link to Finder.com.au: https://www.finder.com.au/broadband-plans/aussie-broadband

EDIT:
Just saw that to use the FINDER10EOFY coupon for 100/20 plan, it needs to be a build you own plan.
Otherwise if you are doing "Aussie Broadband 100/20 Unlimited – Family NBN" then the code is "FINDEREXCLUSIVE"
Not sure if that matters to anyone or what the expiration date on the, FINDEREXCLUSIVE code is. but yeah, just an FYI

Enjoy =)

Mod: Price in title is before the $10/month discount for the first 6 months.

If you are on FTTN don't even bother subscribing to anything higher than 25 Mbps

Whilst I agree FTTN is a massive waste of money when it should have been done with the original plan of FTTP, plenty of people can get over 100Mbps on FTTN.

I’m one of those as I sync at over 120Mbps on FTTN but also have family who can barely get 25Mbps (and drops out like crazy too).

      • Actually according to NBNco 76% wont be able to achieve 100mbps. Congrats your part of the 24%.

        • +1

Point is it's disingenuous to just tell everyone to not even bother going over 25Mbps when they're on FTTN.

Does having Node lotto just like exchange lotto with ADSL suck? Course it does.

Should FTTN have stayed 10+ years in the past where it belongs? Course it does.

Was it a monumental waste of money to save a bit of money in CaPex to just shunt it to OpEx which is easier to hide? Of course it is.

Still doesn't mean there aren't people who are able to get above 25Mbps on FTTN (that includes the 50Mbps plan which is currently the highest subscribed plan on the NBN fixed line network.)

    • I get 94/39 on FTTN 480m from the node. Though you probably wouldn't wanna be much further

      • +1

How do you find out how far you are from the node?

        • aussie broadband has a line state test in their app, I'm not sure about other RSPs

    • On an ABB 50/20 FTTN plan and my speedtests typically come out at 47/19.

  • Anyone know much about Tangerine? Seems decent reviews and they are offering $10 a month off for 6 months too. I just want cheap reliable NBN not so much insane speeds.

If you're signing up for Tangerine make sure you call up to cancel before your billing cycle when you want to switch ISP. My mistake with Tangerine was cancelling few days after and was billed a full month. Rang them up and was told they don't do prorated and its written in their policy. I've been switching from Myrepublic, ABB and Tangerine. Currently with Superloop. Previous ISP gave me prorated when i cancel.

      • Did you notice differences in speed/ latency between those providers?

        • They were all the same (speed/latency). I think my apartment is NBN fibre to building. My router is connected to an old phone wall outlet & the copper should be old since the building is over 30 years old. NBN told me the max I could get is the 50/20Mbps. I've run test each time I switch & would get around 42Mbps during peak.

          • @SF7: Thanks for the feedback, I'm in the same boat and can only get 45mbps max speed on a 100mbps subscription

  • Sorry to be a bit off topic, but has anyone who recently applied for a new NBN service experiencing serious delays? I applied for Telstra 3 wks ago and heard nothing but a reference number Thinking about cancelling order and apply for this deal

    • +8

Please, for your sanity. CANCEL THE TELSTRA ORDER. I've never had a good experience with their customer service. So many issues with them. I don't even want to get into it… It actually upsets me thinking about it haha.

A few of my mates have made the switch to ABB and Mate and they're all happy (we are big gamers)
I think I'm going to bite the bullet on this deal.

  • SAVE10MONTH worked for me about 2 weeks ago despite it saying expired on here

  • these comments are funny, it's like they forgot the very foundation of capitalism

Finder.com.au does not do comparisons of products, rather it is a platform for paid advertising.

Officeworks Accord NBN 100/20 is $80 a month (not just for 6 months), no lock in, cheaper modem/delivery - so arguably better than Aussie 100/20 $89/79 trickery.

So this is a not a bargain.

    • There is no trickery involved though, you just put in the code to get the discount and it's made clear that it's only for 6 months.

Also you can't only consider price. Aussie has local customer support, which I don't think Accord has. Aussie are known for some of the best speeds and latency in the country for local and international traffic. As well as being transparent on CVC capacity. Can you confidently say the same of Accord?

Switched to them a while back and I don't know why anyone has never mentioned how awesome their Android App is!

From the app (for FTTN/vdsl) you can:

    • Connection test (see if they can see your modems connection)
    • Kick Connection (Cuts out your current modems connection so it has to reconnect)
    • Check Line State (Shows your maximum possible connection speed, regardless of what plan you are on)
    • Loop back test (test the connection between NBNs connection point and ABBs connection point)
    • Port Reset (Reset the Node connection port and clear any errors on the node)
    • Stability profile (Change from the normal profile to stability - slower but less dropouts)

Last time we had a power cut and the modem couldnt reconnect I just did a port reset from the app and it reconnected without issue straight away. Saved having to contact support and go through the usual dramas.

You can also change plan speeds / view usage / view faults etc.. but I have never had an ISP app that allows you to test & reset the node port via App. Its (profanity) FANTASTIC!

  • do these work for 50Mbps/20Mbps plans?

    • +1

      Yeah!

  • I work with IT. But I am not willing to pay $150 for an internet connection, even if its 10x faster than the one I have at the moment. This price is an absurd. Am I the only one who thinks like this?

    • I was paying $130 when I was with Telstra for 100/40 so nothing seems bad to me. They just started offering it so maybe they'll decrease the price down the line. I wish they could at least offer 100Mbps upload though but that's not something they control.

      • For most providers , the price is dictated by NBN’s pricing. Telstra is always more expensive than everyone else, though. I have always paid 99 for 100/40

  • +1

I Am considering signING to NBN for first time. What is the best offer out there. Speed is not much of an issue I am happy to start with 25Mbps as am coming from ADSL2. Connection is FTTP.
    Any advice?

    • I've seen Mate get recommended a lot on OZB, they seem to have good prices. I'm personally with Aussiebroadband and they've been great for me, no complaints. I believe ABB is also running a promotion where you can get 1 month of their service for free so that could be something to consider?

    • Best Price if you combine mobile phone… Mate Communicate

Best Support and always having a 'New Customer" special… Aussie Broadband

Most consistent good speeds and fewer dropouts.. Future Broadband

Most flexibility such as suspending your account, pay per the day … Launtel

  • Unlucky for me.
