Decent deal for an X570 with WiFi. Not quite pre-COVID but not bad if building a PC in the next month. Delivery ~ July 15 currently. Was initially waiting for better B550 deals given the price hike over B450, but not sure that's going to happen any time soon.

Features:
* AMD AM4 Socket: Ready for 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors
* Enhanced Power Solution: 12+2 Dr. MOS power stages, 6-layer PCB, ProCool sockets, military-grade TUF components, and Digi+ VRM for maximum durability
* Comprehensive Cooling: Active chipset heatsink, VRM heatsink, M.2 heatsink, hybrid fan headers and Fan Xpert 4
* Next-Gen Connectivity: Dual PCIe 4.0 M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, exclusive Realtek L8200A Gigabit Ethernet, TUF LANGuard and TurboLAN technology
* Realtek S1200A Codec: Pristine audio quality with unprecedented 108dB signal-to-noise ratio for stereo line-out and 103dB SNR for line-in
* Aura Sync RGB: Synchronize LED lighting with a vast portfolio of compatible PC gear, including addressable RGB strips
* TUF Gaming Alliance: ASUS hardware ecosystem ensures the best compatibility and complementary aesthetics from components to case

  • Is this better than the legendary B450 Tomahawk?

    • +10

Cant compare. This is x570 vs. B450. if you dont need/want PCIE 4 + some other features then get B450.

      • or a branched bios (likely cut down/messy) if you choose to upgrade to a 4000 (Zen3) series CPU … at this stage with the B550's being so close to x570 i would tend to lean towards either of those rather than a B450 .. it may mean waiting for a bit for b550 to drop in price but yeh i say it's worth going that route ove b450 at this point in time.

    • If you are running a 3900x or above this board is worth it, otherwise overkill.

I was looking at this board but went with MSI Tomahawk X570 over this.

Have a look at this video for info on this board (this board is at 10:40min)

TL:DW from buildzoid - this is a solid board.

      • Lost a little respect for Buildzoid for using Internet Explorer :D

    • I was looking at the MSI X570 tomahawk as well. This is tempting at this price

      • Yea, at this price its hard to pass up tbh. If the delivery wasnt so long I would cancel my order and get this instead.

    • Saw that video earlier, the Tomahawk is definitely better but costs almost another 60-100 bucks and couldn't justify that cost for my own use. This is a good cheap X570 with wifi (albeit without Wifi 6).

  • +2

no warranty from asus = only amazon which is return if you're lucky

  • +2

wouldn't the B550 Tomahawk be better at $309?

    • Newer, but it isn't as good. X570 chipset is superior, more feature complete.

      • is the x570 remarkably better in performance?

    • Plus the cost of adding a wifi card as it's not included with that board

      • Pretty good price ..

I just got a b450m Mortar max, good priced midrange board ($180), don't need all the features of better boards, and future proofing is a fools game (the stuff will be cheaper later but end up replacing everything).

With board selection I forget to to factor in the price of a USB wifi adaptor ($29), M.2 heatsink ($19), RGB converter ($25). All adds up and $250 is getting close to the price of this board but still a lot cheaper than $400 at the time).

Still can't believe wifi and Bluetooth isn't standard these days, it's like back in the 90s still building pcs.

  • How does this compare to something like this
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/264604680650
    For $271 after 20% off

    Or This

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/233586330274

    • That's one of the worst of the ATX x570 boards. MSI really bungled their x570 line (Except for the Tomahawk).

This one is a great board, but honestly just grab a B550. Especially since this one won't ship until July 1st.

  • “Military grade” TUF components?

    • Overclocking ability has a lot to do with the MB

      • Sure, but how many users are seriously going to OC their gear to the point where they need extra protection?

That's like top .01% for sure. Everyone else can save 200 bucks by using their noggin a little bit and buying what they need rather than what's advertised using flashy buzzwords and graphics.

    • +3

Hub reduces performance. Some people want to use 2 NVMe m.2, PCI-E gen4.

      If I bought garbage tier:
-I wouldn't be able to use my optical/Toslink mix amp
-I couldn't use my case's front panel USB c header
-I wouldn't have enough USB 3.0 Gen2 on the back
      -I couldn't use 2x M.2 without cutting PCI-E lanes from 16x to 8x on my GPU
-I wouldn't have enough SATA connections for my hard drives
-I couldn't properly overclock without overheating VRMS… the list goes on.

Sure some can be solved with addon cards, dongles, and hubs… but why buy more unnecessary things.

      • Oof, I got a lotta hate for this comment.

I mean yeah, sure but you're in the top 1% of computer builders for sure.

All your USB worries can be solved with a hub for like 20-30 bucks. M.2 is only really a consideration if you're desperate to save space (or did they solve their speed issues? i'm not up to date). Sata I can understand, as well as the optical out and OC protection if you're into that.

Aside from the sata ports however, how many users seriously overclock their gear to the point where they need the protection, and how many will also need an optical output. That's like an extra $200 most people are paying because this MB has so many additional extras. It's like insurance, pay for what you need, not what they market to you.

        • I agree, different people have different requirements, for example I don't care about WiFi, and am looking for a board without it.

    • Connectivity. Nothing to do with OCing

  • When are the B550 boards out in Australia? I asked the worker at MSY today and he said he hasn't heard any thing yet?

    • +1

PLE is meant to have stock arriving today/tomorrow for some boards. Others are arriving next week.

      • Thanks!
I just bought a B450 board a few weeks ago but the B550 boards will probably be above my budget.

      Change chipset filter to B550.
Some available, some back order and some out of stock still.

    • I bought a b550 tomahawk from PC case gear today for $309. It's marked as shipped, so I guess they have them in stock. Was talking to a guy from computer Alliance, and they have no idea when any b550 boards will be in, so I guess it depends by vendors.

      • i'm building a new AMD system in about 3 weeks. i hope CA have them in by than

        • Currently my room doesn't have LAN, so I need to buy a relatively expensive Wifi adapter to make the B550 tommahawk useful. Considering the extra cost I might go for a X570 with wifi included. If you're still wanting the B550 I'll eat the cost of shipping ($15) and sell you the board for RRP($309). CA and Umart still has no stock (CA rep said their supplier hadn't even listed it on website), so hard to tell when Brisbane would have it.

Completely new and unopened, you would get it before Brisbane stock/ miss the shipping price from Vic. Send me a message if you're interested to discuss more.

  • Have this board. It's amazing. Just looking for a white build (No punt intended) so prob be waiting on the MSI motherboard b550.

    • -3

      racist

  • You will be waiting a month for it to arrive, can buy a B550 tomahawk locally for the same price and have it now.

  • No longer on sale? When I go to checkout is mentioned to be sold at $537.99

    • Show's as In stock on July 12, 2020 here. Guess they added more.

  • Items from Amazon US are currently taking ages to be shipped!
Expect 4 weeks of shipping time.

  • Decent deal

  • This is still orderable why is it listed out of stock?

  • +1

long wait time, just ordered showing July 30th - Aug 3rd

  • 15 mins before this deal, I ordered the gigabyte aorus elite from jw. Since my 3900x arrives today, can’t wait another 3-4 weeks for asus which I like more than gb.

  • Received it today via FedEx. Was shipped on the 24th. Hopefully everyone else gets it quick too. Good luck
