Vodafone have this phone free on the $29 cap but they are offering a $20 per month discount on the $49 cap over 24 months. So basically getting the phone on the $49 cap for the price of the $29 cap.

The $49 cap offers reasonable value with $550 of calls and 1.5GB data.

Total cost over 24 months less the $20 per month discount is $696. Use the promo code 'CRICKET' to get a further $30 off, hence total minimum cost $666.
Also note that there is a potential saving of $84 from Moneybackco, and a further 10% off your monthly plan fee if you have an existing postpaid Vodafone service. This would make the total minimum cost $512.40

NB: phone is also next g compatible and can be unlocked free of charge

  • Please edit title - title is misleading
make it something like 49 cap for 29 p.m.

What a ripoff. Old phone and outdated specs. Much better getting a GSII on a Voda $45/Month Unltd plan.

    Neg and reported.

It's not just all about the phone. The fact that you can get the value of the $49 cap for the cost of the $29 cap is decent value. The phone outright on ebay is about $330 so half the value is for the phone, but $330 for a 24 month contract is decent.

This might appeal to someone who makes a lot of overseas calls because the total $550 included cap value can be used for internation calls, SMS, MMS.

Not everyone out there needs the most expensive and most advanced phone out there.

      • Apologies. Didn't read the title properly.

        Not a bad deal. $550/month. You can get $650 credit on LC + 6000 texts for $16/Month. Phone = $330/24 = $13.75/Month.

Either way they both work out to be $29/PM.

        • xD triple 6

        • I reckon Vodafone provides better customer services. at least you can get someone to talk to.
          I was once with LC

  • I was once with LC

Seems to be a common saying in these parts ;)

  • I see 2 months free access. Where is this -20 a month you are talking about?

    • Click the link provided and look at the text immediately on the right hand side bottom of the phone

  • NB: phone is also next g compatible and can be unlocked free of charge

For this fact that it's a UMTS850/2100 phone its worth noting that in many regional areas I believe Vodafone rolled out UMTS900 so this could potentially be a poor choice of phone unless you don't mind reverting back to GSM coverage and data speeds…

  • Rather get the galaxy s2 deal which comes to about the same price but on a $29 12 month cap. You get less value but phone is worth it IMO

    • any link?

    • Seems like Vodafone has been changing their prices. Just this week (early, perhaps) I saw that their 12-mth $49 plan required $20/mth for the Galaxy S 2 and now it's $25/mth..

      • Can you please post the link as I could not see that deal on their website? Cheers

  • Do you guys know the internal memory of this phone? If it's like ChaCha, better avoid it. Because ChaCha's was a mere 140+mb which ran out in 2 months. My gf was using one and she only used Whatsapp, eBuddy XMS and message.

I think I've read somewhere that Salsa and ChaCha have the same internal memory. If so then like ChaCha, it's not a Facebook phone, but a Facebook-only phone. Because with that amount of internal memory you simply can't do anything else!

What surprised me the most was how all the major review sites never mentioned this FATAL flaw.

It's more worth getting the Galaxy S 2.

    • I have the ZTE V9 tablet which suffers from the same problem - lack of internal memory. You can get tweaked ROM for it which frees up significant amount of internal memory. If that fails you can link part of the SD card as the app directory (i.e. a symbolic link).

Agreed it's annoying and a shortcoming, the user will either have to accept the limitation or spend quite a bit of time twiddling with it.

  • this is the devils phone.

  • Is anyone able to apply the two coupon codes? CRICKET and SAVE10
