  • Can this be Mesh'ed ?

    • yes, but not yet I think

      • +7

They mesh all they way down the street to your local embassy :P

    • +1

New firmware was released 2 weeks ago and Mesh has been enabled.

  • +4

Here I was thinking you can put a SIM card in here and get a 5G connection.

  • Are their routers any good? Was looking at getting a couple of their new AX5's and creating a mesh.

Avoid BangGood like plague, or simply be okay with the risk equivalent to slightly cheaper price you will take advantage of.

Ordered twice, products were faulty (I have doubts the products are counterfeit to begin with, or at least built with substandard quality parts). They acknowledged the fault of the product but I needed to upload the video showing the fault on three different platforms because they as a tech selling company "cant see it". I guess it is hard to open the link and press play :)

Eventually raised the issue with the payment processor as fraud so they managed to "see" the video immediately as that happened, but promised refund a few times only to not do it and then coercing me to close the dispute on the credit card first, and then they will process the refund. Right :D

I likely was more unlucky, and not all products will fail, but you are dealing with thieves and if it comes to that, you will waste a lot of your time chasing something you shouldn't be chasing and in Australia, you wouldn't.

    • but like how could they coerce you ?

      What did they do?

      • bamboo under the fingernails..was a slow process but got him to talk eventually

      • +5

They basically go - yeah, the product is faulty, we will refund in 48-72 hours.
5 days after, me - hey where is the refund?
They - first cancel the dispute/complaint on our payment.
Me - uhm, no. I have an option to mark dispute resolved when you refund. I wont get refund twice. You as a seller should refund and then they wont step in when escalated. Opened dispute is there to protect me if you fail on your promise as you already showing you are keen to.
They - Yeah, no problem. Makes sense. We will send the team internally to refund.
5 days after, me - hey where is the refund?
They - first cancel the dispute/complaint on our payment.

        Rinse and repeat.
They likely have the explicit procedure/instruction to act stupid and incompetent and make it hard for customer so they would keep the stolen cash.

      They banged you good.

I would avoid BangGood as well as I had a similar experience when ordering an item from them.

I ordered a Royal Kludge keyboard that soon became faulty within 2 weeks once it was delivered. Provided photos and video of the product not working.

Their post-sales rep informed me that it would be too expensive for me to ship the product back to them and instead offered me $12 refund for the $70 I paid to purchase the product.

      • If the price is okay then its okay, but you have to be ready to say goodbye to that money. Hence I wouldnt order anything that is not 50%_ discounted or low value such as occasional cable here or there.

  • Will this support vpn??

    • yes

AX wifi6 version is $85 on aliexpress

AX1800 VS AC2100, read the specs and decide for yourself.

    Aliexpress AU $84.16 21%OFF | Newest Xiaomi Router AX1800 Wifi 6 Gigabit 2.4G 5GHz 5-Core Dual-Band Router OFDMA High Gain 2 Antennas Wider Mi Router AX18005G

    • Could you detail a little more about what makes that one better? As a layperson when it comes to this I just assume that the AC2100 is better due to the higher number.

      • +1

The posted one AC2100 is a WiFi 5 router, i.e supports b/g/n/ac technology. The AX1800 supports b/g/n/ac/ax technology.

Getting the AX is more for future proofing your router but the AC is still fine for the next few years if you're not upgrading anything.

      • I simply pointed out there is an ax one from xiaomi at a similar price level. As i said decide for yourself which one is better.

        • the ax one might not be better as i is a new product from what i can tell. But like alaric said might be more future proofing

    • Wow, just a few bucks more and you get a Wifi 6 router. Does anyone have the AX1800? Do they notice any issues?

Has anyone bought from China recently? I'm just asking in case shipments are halted/delayed due to Covid-19.

    • Note it's only 2x2, not 4x4 like the wifi 5 router in this deal.

Correct me if I'm wrong but unless you like the aesthetics of this router the Xiaomi Redmi AC2100 is better and cheaper.
Stronger WiFi on account of external antennas and you can flash OpenWRT.

    • Nice find, that's also 2x2 & 4x4 like the router in this deal!

  • Does it have VLAN?

Banggood is a very honest site. they will BANG YOU GOOD when shit goes wrong with your order/product.

  • Skip the phishing attacks and just upload all your data straight to the CCP.

    • +1

It's a choice between uploading your data to the CIA or the CCP. I'll go for something reliable and cost effective.

My only worry is how the Trump administration is going all out to stop Huawei. If they can do it to one, they can do it to others.
