  • Isn't the 750w always that price (check 3xcamels)?

I have RM850. I don't think the fan has ever started up (not meant to unless it needs to).

    • Does your case have a PSU shroud? I'm thinking without the airflow it's going to spin up sooner, but while under load (gaming) it's unlikely to be audible above other fan noise.

      • Not sure what you mean by PSU Shroud…. I have a cube computer, its like… a two story house, with motherboard upstairs and and all the HDD and PSU downstairs. I /think/ my psu has its fan facing inside the case. Its a good case though, heaps of airflow. It's really quiet. I pimped out the rest of my fans to match and I can almost literally not hear it.

  • These would come with a US plug as well wouldn’t they?

I read it as Amazon US, my bad lol

  • Price went up to $272

    • They jumped up again last night and then came back down this morning, so keep an eye out

Damn prices have really gone up on these, I got a RM1000i for $169 delivered late last year.

  • Crap. I've been sitting here at my desk for the last 2 hours doing research on parts for a new PC and this is the PSU I've decided on. I didn't peek in on Ozbargain and missed this deal. Ah well.

None of those prices seemed that fantastic

The 650W RMX is $220-239 normally. Getting the 750W for $185 delivered is damn good.

        • good PSU for the price

        • +1

It's been the same price for a year https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B07FS2NFVT

          • @miarn: True. I should say "abnormally". Prices are not good now if you are PC shopping.

        • Try rm650 from amazon with free shipping for $179.49

having a high quality psu doesn't mean it doesn't die, i had one blow up on me

        • +1

Hopefully a high quality PSU wouldn't bring the rest of the build with it when it blows?

          • +1

@Navanod66: that's conventional wisdom but i've yet to see any hard evidence

i mean you used hear horror stories with those $20 diabloteks but that was what 10 years ago?

these days there is a huge pre-build industry and they all cost of these PSU's are in budget territory, someone linked the one techfast was using and it was something like $20 on alibaba.com

        • +2

Yep had two brand new platinum Seasonics blow up in my face.

  • I paid 139 for a 550x late last year.

  • 750W gone too now, should have bought it an hour ago, doh.
