Sydney Park Hyatt, King Room $523 a Night, >50% off Depending on Night [July-Aug] @ Beat That Flight

132

The incredible 5-star Park Hyatt, on the water bounded by the Opera House, Circular Quay and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, is normally four figures, often $1300+, especially on weekends.

At present, at least in July and August, there are days you can get a King room in the hotel for basically half price, with free cancellation available. Basically every night, apart from Saturdays in July and August.

Evidence of normal price that seems to start again in September - $1366 for Sep 1st night (edit, commenter pointed out this is a harbour room room, so not a like-for-like, but as seen on the other dates, normally still over a grand - and for example, Sep 6 has a like for like one for $1300s)

  • 3 nights for price of 2 through a Hyatt Prive agent too. If you don’t know when, PM me for details

    Whre's the deal?

Readily available price from multiple aggregators.
Why would anyone need to use beatthatafilliatereferral.spam

    • +1

if you read the deal, as well as articles on numerous forums, the regular price is more than a grand. There's a special in July and August. Naturally, several aggregators (like us) have similar prices. Feel free to use whichever you prefer.

Much like air prices in the Jetstar deal we shared two days ago, some days it's cheaper on Jetstar.com, some dates we have a cheaper price we've found through our data sources. We don't make the deals, we just look for them.

Your $1366 benchmark comparison is for a Harbour View King(usually a $200 premium over King), the $525 is for King.

Surely there must be more creative ways to drive traffic to your affiliate network, how is this any more acceptable than a deal tagged with a referral link?

        • +2

Fair point on the harbour view room, hadn't noticed that (will update), although certainly on the other days it's still over a grand normally.

Every aggregator out there gets a percentage, from Iwantthatflight, skyscanner, flightfinderau and more who are all on here and have posted here. We've still set up relationships, built software and more. Signing up to amazon for an affiliate referral is a fair bit simpler.

But hey, feel free to use any site. I've regularly shared links to other deals where we don't get anything - generally I've just tried to post bargains. And thought this was a good one. If I didn't have my ozbargain association post available, I'd have shared it from booking.com or something, most likely.

Edit: Seems to go up to $1335 for a King room in Sep, although the harbour ones are still available.

          • @beatthatflight: I appreciate your posts :)

          • @beatthatflight: So the "STANDARD" rate as per the Hyatt website is $525.
You are offering rooms at $523; so a 0.38% saving on the "STANDARD" rate.

However, Hyatt are offering rooms at a discounted rate of $498.75. So a 5% saving on the "STANDARD" rate.

So you are charging an extra $24.25 per room per night / 5% markup?

            How is this a deal?

EDIT: As for Sep 6th, the Hyatt website states the "STANDARD" price as $1260, but is offering a discounted rate of $1134. So again your prices don't seem that enticing. Do I get anything extra for the additional $200?

        • +1

Yep, affiliate spam is what it is.

At least this so called deal is obtainable. As opposed to much of their posts over the past 3mths.

It's cheaper direct. Why support affiliate spammers?

      • You're taking time to post these deals and I appreciate you doing so. It takes work doing it and it's more personal than bigger international companies.

        • It takes work doing it

So does building a passive income from affiliate spamming..why not do both at the same time /s

Looked at this deal yesterday; most facilities (pool, bar, gym) in the hotel are closed … breakfast will be in room only, The Dining Room is only open on limited nights.

If anyone sees a deal for One&Only Wolgon Valley please let me know.

Is this hotel use for quarantine?

    • No, this is way too fancy for that. That was the Hyatt Regency

      • Which hotel is the one where the person in quarantine said that the cell in jail is better than the hotel he is staying in?

    • I've stayed there before, you bet your hiney i'm always on the lookout for a deal.

      • -2

Did you spend $1300 per night

        • $950 a night

          • -2

@jaygee: and you are looking for bargain.
If you can spend that much, that means you a lot as well. This means your time would be worth than the time you look for a bargain.

            • +4

@sakg: My time is worth whatever I choose it to be, and if I want to spend my time scrawling through ozbargain, then so be it.

    • That's a lie. People who look for bargains always have money because they don't spend the full price. It's like calling cheapskates poor.

    I checked dates on Hyatt.com and it’s $499 a night

    • +2

This, AND you earn points if you have a Hyatt account.

  • What the hell is up with that Instagram page? LOL.

    • +2

I know right. I wanted to stay at the hotel, but after seeing the kind of people that stay there, I think I will go somewhere else.

    • +2

      blondemodelsmatter….

  • Be careful with king rooms…you’re most likely to be facing Hickson Rd and a concrete wall. Of course you can face the harbour and the Opera House after the hotel upgrades you upon checkin for several hundred dollars.
