Extra 20% off already reduced Clearance Stock (eg. Save 40% becomes Save 52%)

When I went to school, this would be 12% and not 20% off?

Our online store is fully operational. Due to an increase in online orders some orders may be delayed by up to 2 days. Most of our stores are also open. Is there anything we can help you with?

Hi, how come you're advertising that Club members get 20% extra off, with examples 30% becomes 44% or 40% becomes 52% - this isn't 20% extra off, its 12 or 14% extra?

Hi, the way that we've calculated it is that normally these clearance items have a clearance discount already
The extra 20% is taken off this clearance price

Yeah, sounds like false advertising … ACCC wouldn't be very happy as a normal person would expect 20% off teh already discounted price … bad form Paddy Palin

      Original price $100.
      40% discount = $100 - ($100 * 0.40) = $100 - $40 = $60
      20% discount on already reduced price = $60 - ($60 * 0.20) = $60 - $12 = $48

Except they dont say the discount is off already discounted price … it's inferred its an EXTRA 20% off meaning 20% off original price

no it doesn't. it quite clears states 20% off already reduced clearance prices. as nezumi quite correctly commented.
