  • Does it work with Google pixel 2 xl to a monitor/TV?

This would be pretty useful for a laptop with one HDMI Port and dual USB C… It could technically power 3 displays, with 4 being possible if the laptop display is used simultaneously

    • Just bought one of these cables (for $25) a few days ago just to do dual screen on a laptop with one hdmi port. Didn't know DP over USB-C was even a thing until I had to do a dual screen setup and docks for dual screen were $200 and went looking for alternatives.

USB-C is amazing, and is such a multipurpose port… It can charge the laptop, charge other devices, be used for storage, be used as an HDMi port… There are so many uses, it's actually amazing :)

IF your graphics card supports it (unfortunately my work laptop with Intel HD 620 integrated graphics only supports a maximum of three monitors).

      • Wouldn't that work then… The three monitors, plus your laptop's internal monitor?

Also, just wondering, have you figured out what the maximum refresh rate is for the HD 620… By any chance, have you tried a 144hz FHD on that integrated chip?

        • Wouldn't that work then… The three monitors, plus your laptop's internal monitor?

No, it doesn’t work. It only supports three at a time, so I would have to disable the laptop’s screen to add a third external monitor, or vice verse.

If you have integrated graphics AND a discreet video card, then you can utilise both at the same time to get 4 monitors. (Or if your video card supports 4 or more monitors, obviously!)

By any chance, have you tried a 144hz FHD on that integrated chip?

No, I haven’t tried it. I have the Kogan 34” 144hz UW, which I believe is running at 119hz.But I have no idea if that is the default setting for the monitor, or the limit of the integrated graphics.

  • Thanks OP, going to try this out on the LG v50 to see what desktop mode is like.
Also will hopefully work with the HP Chromebook, and that it works with 1440p @ 60Hz

    • I wanted to try desktop mode on my OnePlus 7T Pro, but honestly I don't think I'm going to use it, and the cable might just sit there… Like a potato

  • I wonder if it will work with switch lite?

    Just beware, it's only 30Hz.
    "Supports Resolution Up to 3840*2160@30Hz"

Does this work for MacBook Pro?

  • Be aware that on eBay there is similar pricing around $15 for the exact same product. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-Type-C-to-HDMI-Cable-USB-3-1…
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-C-to-HDMI-Cable-USB-3-1-Type…

While it is only 30Hz at 3840x2160, it is compatible with 60Hz at 1080p.

Just beware that not every USB-C is linked up to the GPU, you will have to check device specs to see if it's USB-C supports display.

  • They have a similar cable at Kmart ( not all ) and also an USB C to HDMI adaptor for $15 & $10 if in hurry.

Kmart is also connected with Bunnings/Westfarmers.

      What's your point?

Did you not read the description of listing?

Both cables actually look the same too, that adds to my point.

I missed that bit, my apologies.

Probably all from the same Chinese factory 🤷‍♂️

          • @John Kimble: Most likely, like over 90% of stuff nowadays unfortunately.

Received an order for a product made in USA last week and was noticeably made more sturdy and

solid like the days of old lol. I like cheap prices for goods, but also like something solid that

will last but unfortunately for a fair bit more.

  • Would this work for Dex?

    • Can't see why not, The Dex cable on the Samsung site https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/mobile-accessories/phones/…

You'd need a cable with a male HDMI plug on both ends to hook this adaptor to your HDMI enabled display

      • Correction, you do not need a hdmi lead. Mine arrived today and are complete, USB c at one end and hdmi at the other. Work perfectly too.

  • Mine arrived today also. works perfectly with a 2560x1440 2k/60 screen with both the LG v50 in desktop mode as well as with the HP Chromebook 14.
Even works with the LG v30 running Sentio desktop.
