OzB Exclusive: $5 Bonus Cashback with $50 Spend at Any Online Store @ Cashrewards (Activation Required, Excludes Woolies GCs)

5150

Hi everyone. Another bonus for our members. Will be perfect for stacking with Apple, AliExpress, Lenovo, Cellarmasters, Kathmandu, and other great deals (some go live at noon). Please read the terms and activate the offer prior to shopping. Once activated, shop as normal via the 'Shop Now' (Store) or 'Activate Now' (Notifier) buttons on Cashrewards. Valid for purchases made from 08:00am 26/06/20 to 11:59pm 26/06/20 (AEST). Thanks for your support as always. Stay safe, and enjoy :)

  • To be eligible for the AUD $5 bonus, you must first activate the promotion via the link in this post, then shop as normal via any online store on Cashrewards, excluding Woolworths Gift Cards.
  • Transaction must be made between 08:00AM AEST 26/06/20 and 11:59PM AEST 26/06/20.
  • $5 bonus is eligible when making a purchase of AUD $50 or more (inclusive of GST, after any discounts, and before shipping).
  • $5 bonus will not be added to your Cashrewards account at time of purchase. It will be credited separately as approved by 29/08/2020.
  • $5 bonus is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction.
  • Transaction is valid if made online via desktop browser, Cashrewards mobile app, Cashrewards Notifier, or mobile browser.
  • Bonus is not valid for any in-store purchase.
  • Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $50. You will still be eligible for the bonus.
  • Selected merchants report orders with multiple items as individual transactions into your Cashrewards account (eBay, Amazon Australia & AliExpress). These are still eligible.
  • $5 bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account (separate purchases from different stores don’t qualify for additional bonuses).
  • $5 bonus is ineligible if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected, or if you purchase an ineligible product (standard store cashback terms and exclusions apply).
  • Fraudulent activity will result in rewards being forfeited and accounts closed.

A common question is "will I be eligible for the bonus if I purchase anything from an Amazon category at 0% cashback, or on eBay using a code"? Answer is unfortunately no. Thank you.

Don't forget to refer-a-friend for $10 each. Tip: add your code to OzB’s randomiser. And check out our Help Centre & Contact form here for any questions or issues.

Literally spent $53 on Amazon via Cashrewards half an hour ago and looked on OzB for any bonus deals… FFS

    • +4

Could always cancel and reorder :)

    • +2

I know the feeling bro. :(

    • +2

same here. spent $59 at Kogan after having checked on OZB & CR app… that was before 8am…. and before this post! ;(

    • +1

You’re not the only one! 😭 Did just that too! 😭

      • My sympathies fellow bargain hunters.. it's a grim day when a bargain is missed.

I tried asking Cashrewards if they would honour the promo, but they declined 😔

    • Mate, please hand in your OzB badge. That sort of practise is just not on.

  • Great thanks

      Thanks dealbot

Anyone got this message before and can store rep advise whether the below will be an issue now if it does take 2 business days to process? Never had this issue with purchasing from AusPost before using same payment method

      Your order hasn't been finalised.
Your recent order: xxxxxxxxx is on hold while we review the payment details. We'll be in touch once the review is complete.

You'll be notified of your order status with the next 2 business days. Your payment will not be processed until your order has been approved. Approved orders will be processed and dispatched as soon as possible.

      • +2

Just got the same message and wondering the same.

      • +4

I just bought thr Amazon gift card using PAYPAL and received an email saying that my order has been processed and tracking info will be sent to me once it ships.

      • +2

Got the same but the money has already been taken from my cc. Hope CR is not gonna bend the rules again after publicly advertised and telling us something different post-purchase….

        • +2

Yep noticed money taken out too. Still under review. The last AusPost $3 bonus on giftcards, the sale had to be manually tracked for me too after putting in claim …

          • +1

@Horrorstory: Just received a receipt and tracking info from cashrewards.

            • +2

@nmcc08: Yep no longer on hold and got CR tracking email. Can move on with my day.

        • Same they might be doing something : (

      • +1

it happened to me and they solved it like 24 hours later. You do not need to take any actions.

      • Happened to me recently. Never received any further updates, but the gift card arrived via registered mail about 10 days later.

      • It's a security protocol for new customers. Just in case people use stolen credit card details to purchase gift cards. They wait out a little bit to see if there are any stolen or lost credit card reports on that number. Same thing happens with woolworths gift cards for new customers.

      Medal Bud :)
I think this week everyone will go for a Amazon card .

      • Why? Is there something special happening?

    • How about buy eBay gift card directly from them?

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/eBay-Digital-Gift-Card-5-to-200-…

      • I would imagine that it would be excluded as the terms for eBay mention that gift cards are excluded from cashback?

Cashback is ineligible on purchase of Gift Cards

    • +1

BUt on the CR auspost terms it says this:

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
If a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

      SO surely it doesn't qualify?

      • +2

Fixed now for AU Post. Should read:

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
If a gift card is used as payment.

    • +2

thanks but not much incentive as you can get 1000 rewards points worth $5 if you buy ebay cards from woolies this week. its states You may not be eligible for Cashback:

If a gift card is purchased or used as payment."" so do you get 1.5% back or not?

  • +1

    Thanks, TA!

  • If I were to buy on amazon using gc will I still get $5 from cr?

    • It seems you can, only Woolies GC are excluded from what I can see.

    • Yes you would

    • +1

      For Amazon:

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback.

      • and if amazon category is 0% cashback, eg: electronics, then do I still get the $5?

        • Bottom of OP:

A common question is "will I be eligible for the bonus if I purchase anything from an Amazon category at 0% cashback, or on eBay using a code"? Answer is unfortunately no. Thank you.

          • @tightarse: TA can you reply to my query below about how Amazon categories are different on CR website.

  • looking at getting computer parts today through amazon au and noticed cashback is 0% for cashrewards, would i still get the $5 bonus even though i purchase through cashrewards?

    • +2

      no

    • +1

      Answered in OP

      From the post:

A common question is "will I be eligible for the bonus if I purchase anything from an Amazon category at 0% cashback, or on eBay using a code"? Answer is unfortunately no. Thank you.

    • whoops apologies all

  • Will ebayplus 10am deals over $50 work?

    • No, as they have codes associated with them:

Cashback is ineligible if discount coupons or promo codes are applied to any transaction.

      • Thanks for that clarification. Just for some clarification and future reference, does this also apply to codes that discount shipping rather than the item itself (e.g. FREESHIP code from Kogan)?

  • +1

    Great deal, thanks

  • I noticed this point in the post:

A common question is "will I be eligible for the bonus if I purchase anything from an Amazon category at 0% cashback, or on eBay using a code"? Answer is unfortunately no. Thank you.

However it doesn't look like the categories on the CR Amazon.com.au page are current, they list a "kitchen" category, but Amazon.com.au only has "kitchen and dining," CR also lists an "apparel" category but there is no apparel category on Amazon.com.au, the closest is "clothes shoes and accessories"

    TA can you please advise?

    • +11

It is mentioned in the OP.
It is mentioned in the comment above yours.
It is mentioned a few other times in comments.

What is everyone up to this weekend?

  • Is there any way to get Nintendo eshop vouchers with this?

  • Will this work with amazon's $10 off $39 spend on app?

  • How do I check an item category on Amazon? Been looking to buy a router (presumably electronics category) but I'd like to verify.

    • You need to view webpage of item through desktop mode. Category will be displayed bear the top

    • One more thing, is payment by Amazon gift cards still eligible for cashback?

      • For Amazon:

Purchases paid with gift cards are eligible for cashback.

    • Worth noting that the categories on Amazon.com.au don't align with those displayed on the CR website. Need @tightarse to respond to my query above.

  • If I activate the cashback on my Cashrewards account using a web browser on my laptop, and then some time later, make a shop using the Cashrewards app on my phone, then will I still be eligible?

I mean, I don't have to activate and then make the shop in one session right?

    • +1

      Right

    • +2

Yes doesn't matter. I have personally done this many times.

  • Thanks! For once my procrastination on purchasing has paid off

  • +1

When do these show up in your account? I took advantage of the $2 reward that was offered last week and it's not in my account yet. Thanks!

Edit - oops just read the T&C's

$5 bonus will not be added to your Cashrewards account at time of purchase. It will be credited separately as approved by 29/08/2020.

  • @TA why don't u guys track it straight away when the original cashback is tracked instantly. i mean don't approve it until later but atlease track it as a separte bonus transaction in account. i swear i keep lost of bonus cashback offers and don't known when it was or whether it has been credited.
it makes this easier don't u think..

Also if u reply can u clarify that we can buy gift card from AUSPOST for this bonus offer.
    thanks

    • Australia Post site says gift cards are 0% currently. Took a chance and got the Amazon one as cashback normally payable on these.

      • +1

From memory it was commented on previous deals if cashback is 0% than bonus doesn't apply either.. hence i asked him. hope he replies soon.

      • +3

Australia Post site says gift cards are 0% currently.

Where are you reading this? I am seeing 1.5% cashback on Category 2 items which includes GC. So the total cash back on $50 GC would be 75 cents plus $5 bonus.

        • +1

Sorry you are right. My error

    • +7

Use the "Reminder" button at bottom of OP and save it straight away to your calendar on the day the bonus is to be credited. Takes me all but 5 seconds. Hope that helps you with tracking the bonuses

      • +3

Use the "Reminder" button at bottom of OP

Great tip, I have used reminder in the past for deals but never thought of using it to check the CR/SP bonus.

      • great tip. wud be nice to have it in cashrewards account. but great tip.

YESSSSS! - I have to buy booze today, Dan's here I come (at 12pm).
    SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE

    • +2

Booze is always a good option when you don't need to buy anything else.

  • Will it work if I use the Shaver Shop $10 new customer coupon? 🙌🏼✨

    • +1

      Interested to know this too!

      • +1

I wouldn't risk it, but your call. See my comment here.

  • My gift card order is on hold for review at Australia post. I received the following message:
Your recent order: ONSH******* is on hold while we review the payment details. We'll be in touch once the review is complete.

You'll be notified of your order status with the next 2 business days. Your payment will not be processed until your order has been approved. Approved orders will be processed and dispatched as soon as possible.
Will I receive the cashback if my order is approved?

    • +1

Same got confirmation email 1 hr latter :)

    • +1

Mine confirmed by Aus Post after about an hour followed shortly by CR tracking email.

  • tried my luck with amazon gc purchase.

  • Ordered amazon gc on aupost shop for the first time. Hope it works well.

  • I bought an item from Kogan using freeship code on Kogan(FREESHIP) this morning and checked message 2% cashback from Kogan and total amount was $69. Curious whether I am eligible for additional $5. Can anyone advise?

    • Kogan cashback is for new customers only. So, the answer is No.

      • Thanks!

  • I was thinking to buy some books but unfortunately books were under the 0% cashback category the last time (not sure if they're still 0% cashback). I don't understand their reasoning of excluding items that generally get no cashback from these deals. Would have thought it would be the opposite.

  • TA, can this stack with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/547803 ???

    • +1

The 1st line in the description says
