upvote for free shipping, I know i should have waited for better deal as always, paid $10 shipping more for BudgetPC :D

    • Yes luckily with BudgetPC deal, shipping to Darwin was coming at an obscene $85. Finally ordered one now to upgrade my 500GB Ramsta which lives in a USB enclosure.

shipping to Darwin was coming at an obscene $85

That's because they need to cover all the lost packages that the crocs eat

Nice, just dusted off the old gaming pc and needed some more space. Thanks :)

    • Now I just need a decent wide monitor! Cmon ozbargain, do your thing!

  • +1

I literally just went and bought a 1TB MX500 for $173 because the Ebay Plus deals are all over. Well, Fun

    • Which seller ?
      I’m after a BX500 in 240GB

      • Shopping Express ($173 including shipping)

  • +3

    Anyone seen a decent price on a 2tb ?

    • I've also been waiting but 2TB QVO is even $355 which seems steep when a EVO 1TB is at this price.

      • price reflects the difference between QVO and EVO

        • EVO > QVO fyi

        • I know EVO>QVO but I meant to say the 2TB QVO price is expensive when compared to the prices we're getting for 1TB EVO.

Just seems that 2TB remains expensive regardless.

Remember to uncheck the shipping insurance option for $5, it's on by default.
Also no cashback from shopback/cashrewards, so save your time, just order direct.

These two lines should go to deal description.

Thanks, I didnt buy the budget PC one because didn't want to pay shipping. Have bought.

  • Good price. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw an article today saying Samsung is about to release 870 SSD series (QVOs at least) which may explain why they are clearing out stock!

    https://www.theverge.com/2020/6/30/21306860/samsung-new-870-…

8tb drives… Wonder how much those will cost?!

    • +1

Agree! As we all know SDDs smaller than 2TB are being heavily discounted presently from the RRP (noted on Samsung web site). But 2TB and above are still sold by retailers at or above RRP, so come next year we may well see smaller sizes discontinued altogether. It's SSD storage lifecycle just kicking in. :)

  • +1

For those of you who want NVME as I did, get the Kingston A2000, good speeds and heaps cheaper than a 970 evo plus.

  • Iam in market for upgrading the storage on Thinkpad T450, can anyone please recommend a hard drive for home use. From what I have researched that M2 and SSD hard drives are compatible. Not sure which one should I be ordering. Really appreciate if someone can guide me. Thank you!

    • M.2 will replace your wifi adapter. You’ll need to migrate your OS though with some sort of adapter before you do the swap though.

      • Thank you so much. If it replaces my Wifi adapter, does that mean I need to purchase an external adapter to connect to Wifi? Could you recommend any M.2 drives :)

        • Why would you not just replace the other drive though… wifi is pretty important to most people. Also it has to be a super short m.2 because it’s only like 40mm long or something.

          • @ATangk: Yea.. Wifi is important for me as well. I am thinking of replacing my mechanical drive with SSD. Is Samsung 860 EVO 1TB compatible with Thinkpad T450?

            • @ariyan82: I deleted a line from my first comment, oops. I meant to say I’d suggest to replace the 2.5” with this one in this deal, except that you’d need to migrate the OS.

              • +1

@ATangk: Ok.. Thank you so much! have a lovely day :)

        • You could try getting a 2242 M.2 drive. Very limited options on them though. Rarely from the more established manufacturers (Samsung, WD, etc.). I know that Transcend makes them and also that capacities upto 512GB are available.

  • Does anyone know if this will work as an external HDD for PS4? TIA!

    • +1

USe of SATA internal SSDs installed within an enclosure (such as this is quite common. This works with a PC I haven't tried it on a PS4 but. I think if you format it to the right partition type it should work on the USB ports of the PS4.

    • +3

Yes, it will work. Although, it would better to put this as the internal drive in the PS4, and then using the current HDD as the external in an enclosure.

      • Thanks for that Sleepycat3. Just out of curiosity, how would one go about moving their games that are on the existing HDD e.g COD etc to the new HDD that has just been swapped over? Would you have to re-download everything again? Or is there an easier way?

        • I'd suggest cloning your PS4 drive to the new SSD by first connecting to a PC or using a device like this. This will make it read the same as the size of the original HDD. You can then use a partition editor to expand the partition to take advantage of the full available space offered by the drive. I do it often on the PC drives so only do it if someone who has done it can vouch if this method will work. Note PS4 uses proprietary OS (not Win10).

  • No more free shipping?

    • Not working for me either.

    • +1

seems like so. can't get free shipping now….

      • It works on checkout… see first comment above!

        • +1

          Doesn't work anymore mate

  • +1

I got free delivery at check out but the final confirmation before place an order show 13$ for delivery.

  • +10

What a dodgy marketing, no free shipping all in a sudden!

  • +3

    Yah no free shipping

    Sad face

  • +1

    No Free Shipping

  • Damn I bought this for $209 with free shipping when the promotion started. My xbox was dead and needed a replacement. Too bad should have waited to save $30.

    • Has your samsung cashback arrived yet?

      • +1

Not yet the status says validation completed.

  • TBH BudgetPC had it at this price since last week, the rest of the retailers are just slow to match.

  • +3

Tried to buy an hour ago and they were charging for delivery.

    • I bought at 10:20am ACST, and can confirm that delivery was not charged.

  • Can this be used to replace my existing SSD on E470?

    • If your computer has a 2.5" HDD you can swap with this one after cloning the HDD to SDD.

    • +4

      Different drive

  • Was almost disappointed I didn’t get this shipped at the same price as my MSY pickup, but then they took that away. $179 as well.

    • You could still buy with free shipping? There's no option for me.

      • Nah, I'm saying I bought from MSY earlier but had to go pick it up. Would have been disappointed if I could just get it shipped buying from this deal.

  • +1

Was literally looking at hard drives last night. was gonna be a cheap ass and buy one of the super cheap ones on Amazon but an extra 30 bucks for something solid is worth it. missed out on the free shipping but meh, thanks!

  • +1

free shipping promo banner is gone as well looks like it's done!

  • +1

dissapointed over the free shipping being removed. I wanted to not go ahead in principle as id prefer to buy somewhere like centrecom that doesnt pull this but $10 is $10

    • +3

If you ask them about the promotion they will refund the shipping fee. Worked for me :)

  • After that many clicks it's not surprising, maybe they allocated a set budget for free shipping and this deal used it all up?

    • +1

got the advertsing jacked the price its the yank way

  • +2

For cashback, if you are referring to the S/N on the packaging box.. it's missing the last digit. Check the SSD itself, or use samsung magician software, which tells you S/N too.

  • Anyone received Cashback yet? Mine says processed but nada funds yet.

    • +1

Yes. Although it was displayed as "verification complete" in my Samsung account few days after my claim, the cash was deposited exactly one month after I applied.

      • Thanks, I shouldn’t have too much longer to wait then I think :)
