Red Rooster's gravy is crap.
This one is better.
I have to disagree with that. They're both good in their own ways. Red Roosters mashed potato is much more buttery than KFCs which gives it the edge overall IMO.
@KLoNe: Not going to do that, I'm comparing the two products as they are.
I'm not saying KFCs P&G sucks, it was good until I tasted Red Rooster's P&G. It still is good but I prefer Red Rooster's and I'm not going to add butter to it just so I can like it more to prove some point.

The local requires over-the-counter ordering to claim the survey chips and drink, so I can't claim both as the app removed the counter order option
I guess they could choose not to take someones order…but there is no condition that the order needs to be over the counter to get the survey deal.
I'm fairly sure they need to give you a receipt as well. The machine prints it out all the time but I have noticed they don't give it all the time , I just ask for it.
Order on the app, usually if you 'pay at counter' and slide them the receipt they can 'modify' the order to include the extra drink and chips :)
Pretty sure you can add a can of drink for $1
Or use your feedback voucher to get free chips and drink when you can order this deal at the counter, probably next week

God I'm so (profanity) sick of KFC and their bullshit expirations. Macca's and Red Rooster cycle them out quite a bit but you usually get a good month at least. Less than a week now? I'm not even gonna bother redownloading their app for this tbh.

Hot & Spicy has gone downhill for a long time. It's not hot nor spicy like how it used to be back in the 90s. It was amazing back then.
@zaphy: No idea who is in quality control or if someone made the call to change the chicken but someone's dropped the ball on it.
The skin gets sickening too for me personally, there'll be big pieces of thick batter that's just plain.
If I want H&S I'll make the trip to Belle's Hot Chicken, that chicken is absolutely amazing.

I find when I get these $5 deals I eat a lot less as I get my fast food fix and don't have any other main meals. No doubt not very good for me and addictive.

Always love when this deal comes back! Also, they're surprisingly more filling then they seem.
It's the bread roll that's their cheap filler. Sizzler use a similar tactic with their cheese toast so you get full quicker on the bread than them having to include more expensive stuff.
IMO the burger deluxe combo with the gravy replaced with chips is a better deal.
But that's personal preference.
The burger goes straight to my gut though, with the chicken I have a fighting chance

That is exactly what I used to do. ….but, I have recently discovered something amazing (and I suggest everyone try this)!
1: Tear the roll into some bite sized pieces.
2: Submerge the pieces into the potato & gravy
3: Leave the pieces in there to stew, for atleast 4-5 minutes (this is most important part!!! it doesn't work otherwise)
4: Eat.:) The roll is way better to eat, this way. In fact, if you do this right, you will wish you had 2 rolls and a bigger potato & gravy!

8 pieces of chicken, 6 nuggets, 4 large sides (chips/P&G/Gravy/bread rolls/1.25l drink + 2 Dipping Sauces (if they remember to include them) for $20.95. Seems like the more value orientated option in my eyes. It's the 'Cheap as chips' meal.
The fill up box was their starters before family bucket
Tried the hot and spicy fill up box today with free chips and drinks using survey. The original recipe is a joke, it’s way too small, probably reduced by 40% compared to last year. But to compensate for that they give you one tender chicken piece.
Overall good value for $5.
