I've tried using numerous Optus resellers, and Catch is by far the worst.
I'm guessing their auth server is slow as hell, because after periods of inactivity it takes a long time to reconnect / start receiving data again.
Called their tech support and they couldn't provide me with a fix.

Something to be aware of if you're shopping for a new plan.

Your experience is the opposite of mine. I sim shop and have found Catch to be the easiest to deal with and their connection to be the best.

Same here, Catch works fine for me in Sydney.

I thought they brought back their $5 for 40g data sim for new customers. Damn

Didn't they have a Covid outbreak at the Catch warehouse..? I would disinfect anything coming from them before touching…

    • +2

Correct, at the Catch warehouse located at Truganina, Victoria. But my previous sims have been shipped from Sydney

Where is the 90-day sim deal?

  • Tree fiddy.

  • +2

wondering if we should boycott this - hope they can improve on their offer to something closer to the good old days. a bit of wishful thinking…

    • Do not buy it unless a better offer or 100%+ cashback.

  • +4

Boycott this. Force them to offer the 40gb offer again. Or the 90 day offer.

    • Guess I missed this - this must be a recent thing?

  • What network do they use? Optus? Telstra?

Catch is slowly 'catching up' to the offers it gave previously.
$5 plan for 30 days with $3.50 Cashback is good. But I'll wait for them to jack it up to 40GB, or a $10 or $7 Cashback from Shopback like the previous deals:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/496367

It been a long time Shopback had any promotions on Prepaid Mobile Plans.

    • Agree. The 90 days plan is still on the list. If it takes 75% off like this deal, it'll be $15. Let's see if it'll happen after 22 July.

  • Did their plans change? I thought they had 30 or 40gb option for $5 for new customers in the past?

    • Yes, their plans changed bigtime prior to End of Financial Year. All discounted options removed. The $5 just made a comeback (this deal), but only 15GB though.

  • Pity there old plans are gone

  • Amaysim 100gb 30 dollars per month
