      Tried one of the Arlec from Bunnings, to see if any better for my old rotary dimmer switch.

      Got flicker about midway on the dimmer, then none, then again towards full on.

      Also get flicker with the MR16 LEDs and old transfomers already installed, but only near full on with the dimmer. Dial it back a tad from full and no problems though, so stuck with these as still more predictable than the Arlec.

      Was worth giving the Arlec a try though, as able to get a refund from Bunnings pretty easily.

          @Ok computer: Not annoying enough to justify the cost of an electrician to change over.
          Got my feet wet recently with other basic smart home stuff, so when the bang for buck is right will likely replace with wifi controlled downlights. That'll give me considerable control over dimming/light temperature, enable me to easily do it myself & still have change compared to the electrician callout cost.
