  • Despite what it advertises, it does not have any gaming features. No RGB, no gaming VPN, no game profile port forwarding etc.

    • +19

      RGB? Why would you want this thing which is probably located in the centre of a house lighting up like a Christmas tree?

      • +2

        Well what else can you make something "gaming"?

      • +1

        <sarcastic>
        because RGB gives you more frame rate, more flag, more K/D!
        </sarcastic>

        • why are you being sarcastic? it is fact. bears. beets. battlestar galactica.

  • +3

    Looks like a stadium

      A crab lying on its back

      • +12

        Keep going. I'm almost there.

  • What does more antennas has to do with price ? Seems like larger number of antennas , hover the price…

    • Interesting question. How much does the number of antennas have to do with performance

      • +2

        each antenna has maximum allowable power output, in theory the more antennas = the more total power output of the router.

        • Two 5.2GHz band transceivers are split across antennas.

    • +1

      It's not the number of antennas, but the girth of them that matters.

  • Not Future Proof at all, within months, the WiFi 6E is going to be released by all the vendors, it will give access to faster speeds with inclusion of 6GHz Bands.

    • And how long will it take for devices to start supporting it? Quicker than the adoption of USB 3.1 and 3.2 I hope

      • Devices are expected to show up in Q4 2020 & most devices won't have Wifi 6E until 2021-22.

        Wifi Alliance Wifi 6E devices certificate program 2021.

    • Wifi 6E hasn't been approved for use here yet.

    • What's a reasonable time frame for Aussies to approve Wifi 6E ?

      • Maybe end of this year or next year.

    • I don't doubt anything you said but with sht-like NBN I'm looking for a good WiFi5 router atm - yes when next gens are rushing up the market.

  • Guess I'll have to wait for Optus to supply me with an upgraded Wi-Fi router that includes Wi-Fi 6E. Could be waiting for a while.
    On a positive note…… the prices on these will probably drop in the interim.

  • If I had to get a router now. This or Asus ROG Rapture, AX11000 with merlin?

  • +1

    Can anyone explain when routers started costing not $100, but $600? Asus au68 still cost like $200 as if 5 years have not passed… I can't comprehend it…

    • +1

      does it matter if people will throw money at it? clever marketing and very effective.

  • Looking at a router but will need to be "6E" one for my 5 years investment.

    • +1

      what's the rate of return?
