Just $11* after cash back on 3 year plans
Coupon:CASHREW3Y

New Surfshark customers only.

You must click out from this offer on Cashrewards and then select 'Buy Now' from the Surfshark page in order to receive the discounted 36 month plan. If the coupon is not applied automatically, ensure you add it prior to checkout.

Prices are quoted in AUD, and may change depending on US dollar exchange rate.

Offer and increased cashback can be withdrawn at any time without notice.

The AUD amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised Cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

Referenced $11 after cashback is a best estimate figure which depends entirely on current exchange rates and may vary due to the current volatile nature of world currencies. Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only (AUD $2.79 per month or approx AUD $101 for 3 years). It will not include any GST, taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

From previous posts: Advice is to pay using a credit card (or debit card) and not PayPal.

  • How long does it take to track?

    • Website says 1 to 7 days.

    • I got it the last time this deal was on, it was tracked within 24 hours.

      • Mine didn't track, had to follow up manually

    • Took 2.5 days for me

    • Paid $110.85 using CC. (28 degrees)
      Amount as per Cashrewards $97.68
      Cashback $87.91

Aprox $22.94 for 3 years for VPN.
I guess CC and Cashrewards use different rates, hence the difference.

(Took under 3 hours for the email)

  • Paying via PayPal adds additional $10, so yes rather pay via credit/debit card as OP suggested.

How good is surfshark compared to nord and express?

    • +1

From personal experience I came from ExpressVPN and got to say that Nord has been running much quicker and better than Express was (I know, weird right?). The US servers are working flawless for me on Netflix. I was hesitant to try it, but am so glad I gave Nord a go. But I'm more then certain that SurfShark would be great as from my long research, couldnt find much but positive reviews for SurfShark! Give either a go, you cannot go wrong either way with that cashback!

    • They have 7-day trial so give it a try. The only issue sometimes makes me a bit annoyed that is unsteadiness on mobile phone. Occasionally, it drops out for no reason.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just in time for family.
I have been using this for few months, great Customer Support, works perfectly with my Nvidia sheild.

  • +1

Does US Netflix works with this ?

    • +2

      Works fine for me

    • +1

I got it the last time this deal was on, us Netflix works great on the browser and on the app. But if you have an old TV and use a chromecast, then Netflix can't cast to the chromecast.

      • That's right. Netflix works fine on my laptop but when I tried to use Chromecast to cast it into my TV, it didn't work. My TV is new though (Hisense P7). Are there any alternate options?

        • +1

HDMI cable from laptop to TV?

        • +1

if you configure VPN on your tv, or configure vpn on your home router, it should route your TV traffic through vpn as well (i have not done it myself, but i guess should work unless the app itself has a region identifier)

        • +1

It works if you have an Android TV as it natively supports VPN apps. There are a few work around on the official surfshark website. It involves running the VPN app directly on the router. Have a look: https://surfshark.com/blog/chromecast-vpn

          • @razdi: Thanks razdi and maxibon. My TV does support Android and hence I will try configuring directly on the TV first. Cheers.

    • Works well in combo for signing up to Argentina Netflix too.

    • Works fine but honestly I find that they’re more on par compared to how it used to be a few years back

  • I’d vouch for Express. But you can’t go wrong with either one.

  • Ugh. I signed up last night with 30% cash back 😭

    • +1

Don't worry mate, it comes with 30 days cancellation. You can cancel that one and sign up for a new one using a different email id.

      • Cashback tracked though, would it track with the new ID?

  • Does EU Netflix work?
It hasn't been working for me with expressvpn lately.

  • $13.19 for me after cashback

  • Not working for me. Keep getting this error after clicking link from CashRewards site.

  • +1

Are these vpn providers selling our data to afford such 90% cashback offers?

    • I don't think so. It's just part of the promotion I believe. Many more people will use it who wouldn't have used it otherwise and they would promote it automatically to friends and colleagues. I think it's just the marketing strategy.

      • Typical mentality as if this is a Chinese company the answer would be different.
Of course they will just like Google and Facebook etc.

  • -2

I tried to buy, but cashrewards keeps redirecting to a suspicious ad site ojrq.net which is on my blacklist.
Oh well. I'll stick to nordvpn.

  • +1

THanks OP. Been looking for a deal since my CG is expiring in a couple of weeks. This is great.

  • So we pay AUD 100.44 now and get 90% back from cash rewards?

    • +1

      Yep

      • Thanks, Purchased

  • This one or Nord for Netflix?

  • +3

Why the runaround with paying $100 and recouping $90?

I don’t understand the point, and usually when I don’t understand the point, I end up out of pocket…

    • +2

It's a way of retaining perception of value

The effect to the consumer is the same but let's take a look at the below two scenarios:
      - You pay $11 for 3 years
      - You pay $101 for 3 years, and get $90 back after "x amount of days"

Both, the net cost is $11 to the consumer, but from the VPN vendor's perspective, either they're setting a precedent in consumers' minds their service is only worth $3.67 a year, or $33.67 a year.

Either the VPN vendors trash their own market (ALL VPNs by just quoting ridiculously low discounted yearly prices), which will train a consumer to expect it to be at that price point, which also limits their future revenue growth, or they provide a limited time discount in the form of a cashback and maintain the perception of a much higher price point (to be fair, $101 for three years is not a lot to ask for, if it truly provides privacy)

    • Also the laziness tax.
Eg. You sign up -90% but forget to cancel subscription for next year = $$$

    • -1

personally i think people are crazy relying on such a large cashback. if you don't get the cashback you are out of pocket $$$

  • +1

Any real reviews? Compared to Nord or PIA?

    • I brought surfshark and have PIA which is expiring soon.

Speed is pretty good - checker local (Syd) and not much of a difference when compared to PIA
      User interface is clean.
Easy to choose multi hop between two countries.

Cost after currency conversion, CC fee comes out to be $22.9 for 3 years.

    • It works for Channel 4 in the UK for me when PIA stopped.

      It works for Netflix US.

      Speeds seem fine.

  • Gonna want to hope that one gets tracked properly… scares me

    • Yes I got it in my cash rewards after an hour of purchasing through their link

  • Seems pretty fast and currently works with Netflix Japan.

  • +1

Signed up. Scarey if this doesn't track.

  • I got this last time around. The cash back worked fine. Took a few weeks though. Had Windscribe previously and speeds seem pretty similar. The user interface on Surfshark isn't as user friendly as Windscribe but overall I'm happy with it.

  • Would this work with a Xiaomi Mibox 3 and Netflix, BBC, etc or only through the computer?

    • haven't tried myself but i wouild assume it would check to see if you can see the app on the app store on your Mibox.

    • Yes, there's a native Android TV app. Although speeds currently are woeful. When enabled using fastest Brisbane server, my speed drops from 93mbps down to 9-10mbps.
      VPN Unlimited are similar.
I think it's an Android TV thing as the app running on my desktop using same server will result in about 80-88mbps.

Using UK servers on Mixbox for iplayer are even slower so despite the fact it works, the picture is cr@ppy as a result of the bitrate so not worth it.

Either stick to desktop OR look at something like Getflix (Smart DNS) which, when I had it, worked great for iplayer.

  • Can you only cancel recurring payment by contacting customer support? No direct click option from website? Just want to confirmed.

  • What do we do with VAT? Default option is USA @ 0%, but Australia is 10%…

  • I don't get the Surfshark business model. I am with them now on one of these supercheap cashback deals. What incentive is there for me to extend at their normal rate and not sign up again with a different name/address on a new supercheap cashback intro deal?

  • Working on Vodafone tv. Slow as dog balls. Haven't tried all the us servers yet.

    • +1

The removal of my dogs balls were pretty quick, almost walk in walk out, 1/2 day procedure!

    • just wondering how do you use it with Vodafone TV - vpn at the router level or install the app on the vodafone set top box? (I would like to do the same)

  • Is there any vpn which works with an old tv and a chromecast?

Can I use vpn on my ps4 to watch netflix US?

  • Just bought this last night. Still waiting for cashreward confirmation email.

    • What amount do you see on your CC?

      • +1

        Aud 100.34
Using Coles MasterCard which has no international fees.

  • Awesome, thanks. Had some issues setting up with my phone spitting out a certificate error (which happened to be my printer certificate freaking out for some reason). LiveChat support was incredibly helpful.

  • Just signed up after my PIA expired. In haste I forgot to input the 3yr code, and just selected the 24mth option which came to be $66.65AUD. Got an email from Cashrewards saying $59.98 cashback tracked.

  • Is there a safer way to pay without using credit card? And some said PayPal will have additional charges too.. also afraid that ANZ card will charge $10 or $20 for overseas transaction.

Any prepaid debit card from Coles or woolies can be use for this sign up?

  • Anyone used NAB VISA debit? How much did it come up to?

  • What sort of torrent speeds are you guys getting with surfshark?

  • +1

I would keep away from this dodgy provider. Their VPN servers are slow as hell and don't work properly. If you are in for non-US VPNs, it's a hit or miss. Got some videos that are region blocked in YouTube and you can't circumvent it. ( VPN and/or their smartdns).

    I wish I hadn't sign up for 2 years of that crap…

  • I dont see i can get the estimated Nett price of $11
Paid 3 year on my CC for $100.46
    Cashback $87.10
    3 year price: $13.36

    Wish i can get the $11 .. :)

  • Signed up and made payment with Google pay

CR tracked the transaction within 20mins

Paid AUD103.54 and got cashback A$87.34

Total cost is A$16.20 for 3 yrs
