YouTube Premium Argentine Peso $119 (~A$2.40) Per Month (VPN Required)

5830

It's really simple:

  1. Change your VPN to Argentina
  2. Go to YouTube Premium and sign up. https://www.youtube.com/premium
  3. Takes two seconds to get a local address. https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries/address/c…

The amount will be shown in 119 Argentine Peso
— Equal in July 2020 to $2.42 Australian Dollars

It used to be India we would rely on for this hack, but as Argentina's money printer goes brrr… They're the current new leader.

  • Best if you use a credit card that doesn't have foreign exchange fees.
    — it'll only set you back a few cents if your does.

  • Please post your fave VPNs in the comments
    — Many here use Nord as it was 97% discounted here sometime ago

  • Please let us know if you find a more affordable country.

Worth noting this will fluctuate with the currency conversion.. That'll probably be a good thing as the pLandemic continues to spiral currencies ;)

    • Yep, I've been paying $9 a month for the UHD plan for a while now. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/414789

      • Is this still possible now though ? They are pretty good at noticing VPNs now.

        • They only detect vpns when you try and play something. So if you just change plan while on a vpn, and then turn it back off again it works.

Watching ads on YouTube is cancer.
Get this and save yourself thousands in chemotherapy costs.

    • +2

I agree with the first part of this comment.

      • If you agree with the first part, then why wouldn't you agree with the second?

(To be fair, you haven't said that you disagree with the second; perhaps you feel that agreement with the first implies agreement with the second; but in that case, you might have omitted “the first part of” in your reply.)

        • +1

Oh, I've just read your earlier comment about alternative ad-skipping methods.

          • @dudeguy: Also Medicare so we're spending thousands on Medicare Levy anyways regardless of Chemotherapy (assuming an earning level that contributes to Medicare levy)

        • I'd go down the more natural route for treatment, so no need for Chemo ;)

    • This comment..Made my day :D

  • What's the normal au price for this ?

    • +1

      $14.99 / month - single
      $22.99 / month - family

      • +1

        $23?! That’s 4.5 dominos pizzas right there.

    • Last I checked it was $14.99 AUD

  • using surfshark argentina server, payment options show up in euro? (eg. individual sub: €11.99/month ~ 19,49 AUD/m). am i doing anything wrong?

    • Same thing happened to me.

I closed my browser and opened it again and it switched to AR.

      I'm on Nord.

Can I use VPN via Chrome like Hola?

    • Yup

  • +3

If you have an Android device, just get YouTube Vanced. You don't need a rooted device and you can enjoy YouTube videos ad-free and play them in background. Doesn't give you all the premium features (like downloading videos) but for most people, it's enough. You can also download a modded Spotify premium apk on Android to access all Spotify songs (search and choose any song within playlist/album) ad-free.

    • +3

Vanced is amazing, it does everything i would need from a premium sub for free.

      • Is there a guide or official site for vance? I ask as there seems to be a lot of copycat/adware based sites and apps using its name

        • +3
          • +4

@yupyup: https://vanced.app is the official site.

            • @AusNugz: Thanks for the links both, appreciate it

            • @AusNugz: true, and technically the more on point answer to the question, however xda has good how-to, faq's, community spirit and place to ask questions if issues etc, so it's my preferred go-to. The main dev is on there and replies to questions regularly

              • @yupyup: if not for being on xda dev I probably wouldn't be game to install this tbh between how you have to install the apk and the permissions MicroG service asks for I think $2 a month to avoid the hassle is probably fine.

  • Signed up to SurfShark and I'm getting 12 Euros. Am I supposed to sign up for a new account?

    • same, instead of messing around i just VPN'd to india and started a sub, it's hardly any more $$

      • +2

Thanks. Spent another ~5c p/month for the Indian sub. I think I can splurge on myself this time around.

  • Hey team, two questions, is there much concern of Google banning accounts doing this?

And is the family premium similar to Spotify, where I can add other accounts? Cheers

I find the best VPN for sign up that is free - Tunnelbear

So let's say you lived in India and subscribed then came to Australia as a student. Do they continue to charge you as an Indian customer going forward even if you are only using the service from within Australia from then on? & Also do you continue to get indian based recommendations even while accessing from Australia?
I ask because other services like Netflix essentially you migrate as you travel and get access to whatever is licenced locally no matter where your actual subscription originated. Thanks for information OP & others

    • +1

They charge you in INR moving forward. Indian recommendations only for YouTube music. Youtube recommendations is based on your feed and location. Hope that helps.

      • Will the music recommendations evolve over time, as YT Music learns your tastes?

        • +1

They do, but it still lists the Indian charts and Bollywood mixes on the front page. But 95% of the front page is accurate to my music taste after using it alongside Spotify for a few weeks now.

Seed4me VPN that was free a while ago works just used it

  • +1

I am a student from India, the question is should I move to Argentina? Sounds like I might get musics of totally different styles.

  • +1

Thanks OP. What VPN do you guys use?

    • +1

I just used Seed4me worked fine

  • With Cobra Kai moving to Netflix, my main reason for youtube premium is gone though. unless cobra kai season 1 and 2 are youtube exclusive?

  • PSA YouTube Vanced does 90% of the stuff that premium does and it's 100% free.

    • +1

The Google Play Music subscription is at least 50% of the value.

      • Fair enough. I use Amazon music and free Spotify so I don't use that.

  • Do I need to VPN in every time or just to make payment? And will it except AU payment? This sounds amazing!!

    • +1

You will need VPN just for the signup, and it will accept AU payment.

    • Just to make payment, afterwards you can use it as usual.

      • +1

        (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ AMAZING!!! DONE!!

Thank you! Just signed up for Philippines Spotify as well last night. :P
Wonder whether it’s worth doing Netflix…

    • Do you need a Philippines credit card? I tried with Spotify India and it rejected my Australian Credit card.

      • I think I created a PH paypal account, but still used my australian credit card as payment. Works ok!

    • Netflix… yep. Turkey, Argentina etc
      Link above

      • none of my Australian credit cards (HSBC/NAB/AMEX) are being accepted by Netflix India

Thanks OP. I was subscribed to India premium, but I prefer Latino music suggestions and I switched! Enjoying the latino beat now. Vamos a bailar

    $2.48 Bankwest - India

  • I would have tried this out but there is a bit of hasle at my place. My missus work at home so she relies on a stable network. If I use VPN linked to my home NBN, how stable is the internet anyone knows?

    • +2

You only need to use the VPN to make payment, afterwards you don’t need it.
Furthermore, you normally install the VPN on a client (PC) so it doesn’t effect a whole network.

      • Thank you. I will try out. If it works out I will cancel my current YouTube Prenium subscription.

    • +1

Completely fine. You need the VPN turned on for like 5 mins to subscribe and enter payment details, then turn if off.

It'll have no effect on the stability of your home network unless the stability was bad to begin with.

Edit: Whoops didn't see that you'd been replied to cause of the page break on mobile.

    $2.49 this month in India

    $2.59 last month

    Citibank everyday account.

  • I used seed4.me which I got free from ozbargain while ago. I've checked if the free code is still available on ozbargain, but it's expired already. I haven't personally tried it but you might want to try this one. https://winningpc.com/giveaway-seed4-me-vpn-license-free-unl…

Cheers, d/l seed app and using free trial signed up for prem youtube no problems, thanks alot.
      Edit: cost me $2.43

    • does this not work anymore? hmmmm

  • Does this work paying for other Google services like Google drive etc?

  • When I go to sign up with an Argentinian VPN, and it says I will be billed US$4.99 after trial.
When trying an Indian server it says 32.99/month AED

  • Is the following possible… ?

    • Create a disposable account in Argentina
    • sign up for the family plan
    • invite my Australian Google apps account to the family plan
    • invite my Australian gmail account to the family plan
    • use my normal account, to access GPM and adfree YouTube.
    • Get regular tending items for Australia, etc

    Thanks

    • +1

Or just use your Australian account via a VPN to sign up in Argentina and use it in Australia the same way you would if you had of purchased it here…

    • no u cannot add people out the country, tried and no luck, like people suggested just use ur personal account, should be fine.

      • I added my relative who wasn’t in Australia. But I created an Australian account for them then gave them the password.

        • yes, but not existing accounts.

    • I don't think Google apps accounts work, but no need to create a new account in Argentina. Can just use your existing but sign up there with a VPN.

  • Thanks, Just joined premium family plan.

  • Having issues with my VPN for Argentina as it goes to Indonesia, I tried India (single plan) and its showing 99 Rupees which is $1.89? Unless theres something i missed.

Edit: Nevermind was looking at youtube music by itself.

  • +1

I've tried with 2 different credit cards - both declined.

    Any help would be great!

    • Your credit card provider probably rejecting the international payment, but if free trial i dunno

    • Try Citibank if you have it

      • Bankwest no go. Citibank worked despite address generator. Thanks!!

    • OR-CCSEH-05 by any chance? Same with ING and ubank

      • Yes same - using ANZ and citibank

        • I just used ANZ Visa card and it went through. Well I think it did. I was able to sign up to premium but it starts with a 30 day trial. Did not get any errors.
