I think for $250 extra it is worth getting the latest Gen Ryzen 4000 series. Some very good Lenovo deals at the moment.

    • That's true, the Lenovo deals are very tempting.

Potential delivery times of up to 4 months are not so enticing on the Lenovo's though

        • Damn that is a long wait. In that time there is a potential for a myriad of new deals/configs from different manufacturers.

          • +1

@parallelparadox: Im keen on the Lenovos but yes concerned about the wait. My desktop died so prefer something off the shelf or few days post

            • @dmb0312: I Checked and it said that the approx post time is start of august so in 2 weeks.

              • @parallelparadox: Thanks! I read someone say they recently ordered form lenovo end of last month and maybe coming mid August so that put me off. I want to customize the one i was looking at so assume that will delay

    It's a bit cheaper here at $939

so officeworks will beat extra 5%?

      • I believe so.

        • wouldnt have thought officeworks beat ebay, do they?

          • @JuryWheel: Yes they do, provide it's not a coupon and delivery fee included. However if you look at the link there's only 1 available so there's ground for refusing to price beat.

Thanks for that, just picked one up for 892 :)

      • Did you call OW for price match or instore?

  • I’m in the market for an office only machine. I’m not that great at computer parts. I get the feeling though 4GB if ram may be a little slow, but to go up to 8GB really increases the elite to around 1k.

I have a 2018 iPad Pro, it’s not great for doing long stints on though so I need something additional.

Are there any decent options around $400-600?

  • Is it a good deal for $700. My uncle works at Officeworks, so I might get 20% off?

    • Yes!

    • Mine works for Nintendo

      • +2

        Mine works for a prison.
Does that mean I'll get 20% off my sentence?

    • Scales down significantly from 20% as items get more expensive. Better of using the price match and getting $50 off

  • Anyone know if I can easily swap out the 8gb ram for 16gb if i purchase separately?

    • just need to take off the cover and you need to find out how many slots for RAM in there.

      either 1x16 or 2x 8 choices…

Can this be ordered online for delivery …

  • My boss bought me this laptop for work. Its been simply horrible. Sluggish speed, so many blue screens of death. I've had to send it back to Acer to be repaired almost straight away. The touchpad is the worst I've ever used - it feels so fragile and sticky - but Acer assures me that its normal like that. Never keeps battery while in sleep mode despite Acer support running me through every power management setting. I had to charge it up every morning.

I'll never buy or use an Acer again, especially this model. I'm really hoping I dont get the laptop back from their repair centre. Avoid
