Great deal from IKEA for a one seat section of a sofa. Perfect for those on a budget or leaving temporarily in a unit.

VIMLE

I am not sure how comfortable it is but for $49 it is worth a try.

IKEA’s online ordering is cooked, so that chair could well become $49+corona fine if you’re not careful…

      What do you mean

      • +1

They are having issues with the online system. If you go to order at the moment you receive an error. People are complaining on their FB page.

You would have to travel to a store (in VIC anyway) and if you got caught by the Police, you’d have no real valid reason for travel and could cop a fine.

        • Ah okay, sorry, that makes sense now.

        • You can leave to purchase essentials. Many stores are open

It didn’t occur to me about the corona fine. My wife reminded me just now. Not worth the risk.

      That comment isn't valid nationwide.

      • True. It’s definitely a VIC thing.

      What's this mean?

Not sure what LittleTicket is referring to, but a couple months ago I ordered online, got pickup confirmation and then got a phone call to say sorry your order isn't ready today for pick up, come tmrw and it'll be waiting for you.

Went in the next day and waited over an hour for my stuff to be brought out.

They just weren't set up for the influx of online orders I guess. Not sure if it's better now.

        • Online ordering isn’t functioning properly at the moment. The webpage flags an error. All over their FB page people are complaining.

That's one of OzBargain's stranger comments

Just curious, does that mean an ikea staff is able to travel to work legally but if a customer goes there, they could be fined? Is that how it works?

      • I think it's a big more complicated than that. Some stores may sell essential and non-essential stuff. What's essential may differ from person to person.

So I think it probably it depends on what you need not just the actual item. But I'm neither a cop nor a lawyer.

Just fyi to complete it you'd need to buy the armrest frames ($120 each / $240 for 2) for those separately. The legs are attached to the armrests so there's nothing really supporting the base and it will possibly break in a short time if you tried to use it without them.

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/assembly_instructions/vimle-1-sea…

You can see on the picture at the top of the assembly manual that it's just resting on a thin piece of wood otherwise, plus the spaces where the armrest connect are just uncovered wood. Good maybe for someone whose really handy who could alter it someway.

  • VIMLE range is out of stock Australia wide.

Saw it the day after it started, but no stock anywhere

Got mine from sydney rhodes this morning. Lucky I guess :)

  • No stock

  • This is no deal. It was the last one

  • Cheap price, would have been tempted. Just the armrests issue above, and the polyurethane fabric I suspect will feel gross in summer.
But still an awesome deal op.

  • really good price

50 bucks for a single section is cheap? they had 2 seater lounges in the past for 50 bucks

  • Out of stock for delivery

What do you mean it's perfect for those "leaving temporarily in a unit" ? :-/

    • Somewhere for you to sit when you get back?

    • Hehehehe

  • Looks like plenty of stock to go around for everybody finally a company that did something right:

  • No stock=no deal!

  • No stock in Vic

  • Out of stock, bummer. Looking for something like this to put outside for the doge.

I prefer the king living furniture ones of these that have storage underneath, are standalone, and you can take the back off to use a an ottoman. Flexible and perfect for renting.
Often going on gumtree for less that $50. (Delta style). If you are handy, converting this one to one of those with a gas-lift component would be epic.
