Peak Design 20L Everyday Backpack V1 $265 (normally $378) @ PeakDesign

120

For those looking for a premium tech/everyday/camera backpack, the PeakDesign Everyday might be for you. Expensive (yes) but highly praised for its functionality and versatility.

If you don’t mind it being version 1, then this is pretty good. From what I read online and on YT, v1 and v2 has almost negligible differences.

  • Should probably add V1 to the title.

The biggest complaint about these I think are the shoulder straps which the V2 fixes (but the V1 does do some things better)

One of the more extensive comparisons I found linked: https://www.reddit.com/r/peakdesign/comments/e1y3jn/all_diff…

    • Thanks for the suggestion, yeah I’m seeing that from comments on YT as well. It seems like the V2 is equivalent to an “s” upgrade in the phone world.

    • +2

Add to that the area near the lower back had increased wear and the material would develop holes.

  • I bought the 20L originally and found it really small so swapped for the 30L. Highly recommend paying the difference for the bigger bag

  • +1

I don't think you can actually order these here anymore. It doesn't let me check out and it says the V1s except for the 5L Sling are unavailable in Australia

    • Bummer, didn’t realise it thanks for pointing it out

      • Yeah was a good price :(

        • Yeah, will probably wait for Rushfaster or something to put the v1 on sale. Thus far, they are overpriced as hell.

  • 20 min deal?

  • Jeez that expired incredibly fast. I got in one this and the sling back during the kickstarter… and can attest that their 'lifetime warranty' is legit.

Also it feels overpriced until you ask your missus how much her 1L handbag/purse costs… and likely made using the same materials, technology, and designs from literally 100 years ago.

  • Good bag, have used the 20l for a few years.

  • ah might have to look on FB marketplace or ebay

    • This is $305. They've occasionally had 20% off deals.

  • its back.

  • I did some travelling with the 30l pack. It is great. Well designed with a lot of really nice touches.

    Like:
    The magnetic clasps everywhere
The hidden straps (in the side pockets) to strap things across the bag
The side pockets stretches really well for big bottles.
The flexible removable partitions.I had my cameras in a crumpler haven for side loading, so there was more space for it as a normal bag.
Little pockets everywhere to hide treasures of battery and memory cards.

    Dislike:
It is heavy. If flights were strick about carry on weight, it would easily exceed with photo gear and computer.
There isn’t much space for ventilation between my back and the bag. In humid environment, it sets quite sweaty and after a few weeks it started to smell. I had to take extra care to clean and dry it.
