  • EDIT: ITS GONE !

    • See the original HP thread too.
This one is different from HP in following things:
      1. 2 years Global warranty as compared to 1 year HP
      2. 6 GB RAM vs 8GB in HP
      3. Graphics: 1GB DDR3 NVIDIA® GT540M vs ATI Radeon HD 6770M (2 GB GDDR5) in HP
HP graphics are better. I am not that expert in gaming, so can be wrong also.
      4. 1 USB3 vs 2 USB 3 in HP.
      5. Weight: 2.9 kg vs 2.63 kg for HP

        Hi Gagans,

        thanks for the comparison chart,

other point you might miss out is:
Bang & Olufsen ICEpower Audio vs Beats Audio™ Quad speakers
Look of each laptop (different appeal to different people)
Asus Style Keyboard vs HP style keyboard
(i have tried both before, Asus is more bouncy and responsive, while HP has a softer touch)

i dont know but hp laptops seems to heat up really fast.

l like asus, they tend to last longer but thats just my opinion

    • I have checked now, and it is still in stock and coupon is working too.
For those looking for the last HP deal again, Vote postive for that deal, and shoppingexpress will activate it again.

Definitely in stock, not very high, with limit to 1 per customer. This is a great choice for Asus Fan especially this is one of the more popular series of Asus model-that is great for multimedia and moderate gaming. Today's price:under $900, is definitely great value. I suggest people interested act fast, before it happens like the HP deal again, as this will be our last batch of stock and no relist or restock once sold out.

    • Hey rep, does this one has a subwoofer built-in? Also do you have any deals on the 17" model? I'm looking for a 17" i7 laptop with discrete VGA, and with spec comparable with the DELL XPS 17.

      Thanks

      • No subwoofer built in. 17" should have deal by next week. Any particular specs requirements or models from other manufacturer?

        • Thanks for the quick response rep! I'm looking for 17"HD screen + 8GB ram + 2xHDD + good speakers (with subwoofer like the XPS 17) + discrete graphics + i7 + dvd/BR) - XPS 17 meets all of this. I'm waiting for the next DELL XPS sale or unless some other brands/models matches these spec with a similar price (under $1000)

The N55 line (updated N series) has the B&O speakers + external subwoofer, if you wanted to take a look at them.
If you want to listen to the N53s, from memory (dont know if they do now), JBhifi has them, ask the sales assistant if you can have a listen to them (bring an mp3 file or something on a usb stick and play it on there)

        • homersyd,
You might want to continue the discussion by sending email to [email protected]. Will get back to you on this one. Note:mention that you are from ozbargain, and wish the rep could get back to you on the 17" model.

        • Thanks cwongtech, I will check out the N55.

        • thanks rep, i will send email separately.

        • @homersyd
          MLN sells the N55

TBH, I've never noticed the need of a speaker on my N43, because they're laptop speakers, not party speakers or headphones I haven't felt the need to have a subwoofer

        • "TBH, I've never noticed the need of a speaker on my N43"
Woops, never noticed the need of a subwoofer

Comment on the quality of the speakers: Best laptop speakers I've heard. I've got the N43JF-A1, which is the 14" version of the N53 line.
N53 line of laptops are going to be replaced by the new N55 (not sure if there will be 14" versions, i.e. N45) that has some USB which you can charge your stuff in even when the laptop's off, but still has the B&O speakers.

  • re asus N55, have been looking and spoke to a guy recently who got one from JB for about 1k. i plan to go in there and see if i can get it for 950 on the weekend :)

shoppingexpress: any upcoming deals on N53 or N55 type models???

    • You'll be happy with the speaker SQ ;)
