I guess this is to counter this deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55023 save $30

    • -4

Remember, this one only has 1 years warranty compared to 3 from megabuy.

      • +2

I think the megabuy offering only comes with 1 year warranty also:

"THe unit only has a 1 year warranty, so offering a special deal on an extra 2 years for anyone who clicks through the below link."

Does that mean it costs extra for the added 2 years?

    • wasnt even sure if it was a deal, just +'ve for that!

    • The deal under that Link still has stock though.

  • This reminds me of the 24' Samsung monitor: same product is selling everywhere.

    • +2

that is one hell of a monitor!

  • if u click the website, they sellin it for $999 !
    LOL

    • yeah was just gonna say what phantome said!

      • +2

        :O that's why there's a coupon?

        • +1

ooooohhhh … I'll neg my own comment!

edit: DOH! can't vote on my own comment!

    love these dv6 deals.
on another note, who wants to try and price match this with dick smith? =P ($99 dv6-6027tx)

    http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Com…

    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC7831/hp-pavilion-dv6-6027t…

    • they don't match price errors or clearances

    • yo bro..
is that for real $99 ? seriosly

  • Any chance you can bundle with a 160g SSD ShoppingExpress?

    • sorry mate, no 160GB SSD in stock at the moment.

  • +4

That's it…keep coming down you laptop prices.

  • do you amex for payment?

    • Not at the moment. We only accept paypal or electronic transfer at this stage.

      • Is there any change of a special arrangement for payment via Visa? (this would give me 12 mths extended warranty through Visa program)
Also - what is the guaranteed delivey time as I am travelling overseas in the next few weeks?

        • Hi quakka, we dont keep customer's sensitive information in our system at this stage, so we are unable to make special arrangement for you. The fastest way is to use paypal and our normal dispatch time is 1 to 2 business day from receipt of payment.

  • No Gigabit LAN? That sucks really..:(

    • How often are you copying massive amounts of data from a computer to the laptop where it can't be done overnight? It shouldn't be that big of a deal.

      Incidentally, I guess I wasted $30 with MegaBuy's deal, oh well :)

      • Gigabit LAN is the most common Connection used in todays home networks. Its a massive speed difference from 10/100 (10MBS) where Gigabit can get up to 80+ MBS.

Ideal for LANS, HTPC and home file sharing. Gigabit is a must in laptops :D

        • Actually I'd say 10/100 is most common as most people would either still have routers/modems from before gigabit was around or have cheaper models that don't have gigabit. Besides which most people connect a laptop using wifi. I'd hardly say gigabit a 'must' in laptops.

    • I think it is a typo. Mainly because the lower end model (ones without Blu-ray) already comes with gigabit ethernet. I know HP site also indicates it… but it makes no sense putting in a 100 Base-T in a laptop with blu-ray drive. Even the DV6 laptops with i5 has gigabit ethernet.

Best way to tell is to go to OfficeWorks or Harvey Norman to try one out.

      • It could just be that HP had 10/100 chips left over and decided to put them in this model. Why they'd put them in this one and not a cheaper one Idunno, but certainly possible.

Having said that, there are some sites reporting it as having gigabit (eg: http://www.digitalstar.com.au/hp-pavilion-dv6-6146tx-i7-2630…), so at least one of them has a typo / mistake :)

        • It most likely is gigabit ethernet. I checked a cheaper DV6 before. HP would probably use Realtek gigabit chip for this one. That chip costs less than $10. If HP is really nice and treat this as a proper high end model, then they would put Intel chip in it.

You don't put a 2GB graphics card in it and try to save $10… pretty sure it would be a gigabit ethernet.

        • whilst that digitalstar site reports the lan as 10/100/1000 they also report the video card as a 6770M 1GB GDDR5 card - that card is in the DV6-6145TX. The 6146TX has a 6770M 2GB

I think some sites are confusing the specs between the DV6-6145TX & DV6-6146TX

        • +1
  • Is a HP extended warranty available?

    • yeah, you can always buy HP Care Packs for DV6 Pavilions.

HEWLETT-PACKARD 3 YRS PICKUP & RETURN SERVICE FOR PAVILLION NOTEBOOKS
      http://www.computerwholesale.com.au/?547215
$116 for the HP warranty from that site. Search around, you might see it somewhere else cheaper.
HP does courier pick up and return for your laptop

      • Tried to search for Care Packs or Extended warranties on the HP site, and all the links led to "Sorry, we can't find that page. The page you are looking for is no longer available or has been moved."

And no details on the dv6-6146tx either. Closest on the Aus HP website is the 6147tx.

Do these run ridiculously hot like the DV6s with the 1st gen i7?
My DV6-3032 gets really hot all down the left edge & palm area.

  • Im very intersted in purchasing this but want a 10/100/1000 lan in it.

Could the rep clarify if the lan is 10/100 or 10/100/1000 pls?

    • The listing on HP said 10/100, however, my money is on gigabit LAN. There is simply no reason to have a 10/100 port anymore, especially new laptops.

  • Their movie tickets aren't reasonablly priced

    http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/hoyts-adult-movie-tick…

  • better deal than megabuy's.. perphaps buy the extended warranty from them?

    • What is real use battery life on these? Are there any upgrade options to a bigger battery eg. 9-cell like the lenovo T420/520s?
    • Is there a docking station available for this similar to thinkpad's minidock?
    • Any money back returns if not happy with it?
  • +1

    Couldn't resist at this price, I'm in…

    • +2

Hope you had moneback in this ;)

  • -4

Guys, it friggin' Megabuy. These guys are awful.

    • +2

      wrong deal panda.

    • yo troll, da missus has fresh chucken at home for ya roll home n eat trolly

  • How do you upgrade the screen? THe resolution is pitifully low, but if i could pay more for 1920 that would be good.

    • You can't upgrade a screen on a laptop. You need to look for a different model.

  • Two questions, are these guys trustworthy? Is the laptop new?

  • Went to Bing Lee Villawood in the attempt to get a price match on this. Told some punk ass salemans about the deal on Ozbargain and in a desperate attempt to earn commission, tells us all cheap laptops you see on here are reconditioned and not brand new. His best offer for the laptop for $1300..

  • Yeah this worries me. Don't a want a refurb. Can the rep from ShoppingExpress confirm that this is a new unit?

    • All laptops here are brand new, as mentioned in our listing on website. We will ALWAYS mentioned in our listing the condition and unless stated otherwise inside the listing as refurbished or opened box, i can say 99% of our items are brand new.

      • If i get a case with the laptop, can this be included with the free delivery? Thanks

        • +1

  • got reply from Rep "All laptops here are brand new, as mentioned in our listing on website. We will ALWAYS mentioned in our listing the condition and unless stated otherwise inside the listing as refurbished or opened box, i can say 99% of our items are brand new."

  • @rep est delivery time?

    • once payment received, item will be dispatched within 1 to 2 business days, with most of the item dispatch in within 1 business day.

  • +3

I tried Harvey Norman and JB Hifi to see if they could sell at a similar price. They were a little taken back at the price reduction and couldn't get anywhere near the deal. It's a lot of notebook for the price and i'm looking forward in getting my delivery next week :)

  • Almost all HP products are having big price drops. I am wondering, if there will be issues for warranty and parts in future?

    • +1

It's HP. They're not going under, and even if they did there'd be some other company that buys them out and takes over warranty.

      • I came, I saw, I purchased.

Having CarbonTwelve liking it, presumably the same awesome guy who made sc2fusion and Ive seen on the sc2manager site, helped. :-)

  • any chance of swapping bluray for ssd? :)

    • They don't customise the laptops. HP designs the models, so the 6146TX is the same everywhere.

  • Can someone please confirm which version of the HM65 chipset is in this laptop? Is it the B2 or B3? B2 is supposed to be recalled.

  • Can I still get this at $850?

It's 9 PM in Perth and didn't realise it's already 12 in Sydney.

  • If this offer can be extended I'd be interested in purchasing as well. It's still Sunday in Brissy …

  • Any chance this offer can be extended?

    • We still have a few left :)

  • Would also be interested if this offer could be extended.

    • We still have a few left :)

      • +2

        can you price match?

  • -1

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the support and interest in this deal. Those that got this deal, congrats and order will be dispatch asap once payment received.
At the moment, the deal will not be extended today, but if this post gets to over 100 positive (ie. significant people showing keen interest in getting this deal), there is a very good chance of a repeat of this deal on ozbargain again soon :).

    • +2

might be hard to get more votes on something that's expired?

      • I changed the heading slightly to reflect the 100 positive condition. That is all i can do for this expired deal at the moment mate.

        • what you're implying is that it'll only be worth re-running the deal if you can sell another 40 of these units?

        • Hi sycojt,

The evidence of strong interest in a relist/extension will convince our management that the demand is still there and worth relisting within such a short time frame specially for ozbargain community again.

  • I'd be keen to get one as well didn't realise it was for the weekend only

  • +1

    We need 100 votes!

  • +1

Doubt you'll be able to pull 40 more votes on a deal marked as expired. You'll have to come up with another method for expression of interest…

    • +1

Yeah, almost nobody is going to look at the deal after it's expired, and even fewer people are going to vote on it.

      • i agree, but i also remember this thing call word of mouth?

        • +2

How many others do you expect people know who want this specific laptop? It's either that or you expect them to hassle their friends to upvote a deal they have no interest in.

  • item has been dispatced.. yahoooo…

    very fast!

    • thanks mate, hope you can add a plus on this link to help the ones that wish to get the same deal as you.

      • done!

btw how to get the e-parcel tracking number?

        • +1

you should receive a dispatch notification mail with the tracking number provided, otherwise, login to your account to check the order status and the tracking number should be there.

  • +3

fully agree with CarbonTwelve - people will think what is the point of looking at an expired deal…. so why vote on it. Whether they think its a good bargain or not

Ive already voted - 2 thumbs up to you ShoppingExpress & look forward to more ozbargain specials from you ;)

    • Thanks mate, hope you receive your laptop soon. There will definitely be more special coming up. Keep supporting to keep us going. :)

  • +2

Please extend!!! (or it's off to megabuy we go, hi ho, hi ho, hi ho hi ho)

    • I think megabuy charges fess for credit card or paypal payments ( 2.5 %) which looks quite bad for me.
I have bought earlier from ShoppingExpress via paypal and experience was good.

    • Megabuy still have stock

  • +1

@ShoppingExpress, I think you will sell few more laptops with the current deal. You can give it a chance, I suppose.
Have the same deal with laptop and a good deal in SSD. ( Make them seperate, in case someone doesn't need it)
    Votes are already reached 75.
As few members have explained, there are very few users, who will look for old or expired deal.

  • +3

    Thanks for the suggestion guys.
I will post an update on the extension of this deal soon (on when it is happening). Get ready :)

    • I will be getting one if the deal's back

      • then vote the deal up mate :)
