  • So which hotel exactly?

    • +1

This is in their website: "Due to our incredibly low prices, we can only reveal the hotel name after you've booked. However, we only work with some of the highest rated hotels in the city"

      • That seems really strange! If someone books please let us know what hotel you get m?

        • It says the last 3 that people booked were Pepper Noosa, Mantra and Novotel.

        • True @TonyBaloney per the link above, The last person got the Peppers Noosa Resort and Villas

        • happens. There was a deal in NZ last week somewhere about a secret 4* hotel in Queenstown, revealed upon booking.

          • @beatthatflight: I bought the "coupon". As below you need then log in with provided details and search your required dates to see what hotels are available for you to book. Some dates are blocked out.I did look at sep/Oct holidays and it had 3 hotels in Caloundra. Just looked at the breakfree resort and that averages at $180 per night during that period so I guess it's not bad value. Was hoping to find dates I could stay in Noosa (tried their support team) but weren't really all that helpful in giving me dates for that area.

There are 47 properties that meet the criteria. The cheapest one is Mercure Sunshine Coast Kawana waters Which is around $159 a night and the most expensive is mantra Zanzibar Mooloolaba which is around $389 a night.

  • +2

Peppers in Noosa is legit and absolutely worth the deal. But, it depends on when the "available dates" are.

    Some reviews here

"… no weekend dates are available, only Sunday-Thursday. Very deceiving advertising."
When I went to book a reservation the only night that was available for the next two years was july 18-19 2021."

    But on the other hand,

"Just received a call from one of the owners. They are refunding me my payment and they said that they are giving me a free week. I will keep you posted."
"Unlike some companies, we are always listening to our customers both positive feedback and negative in order to constantly improve. If you can please email us at [email protected] and we can look into your reservation. 100% customer satisfaction is always our goal."

Further, here's a some info from Reddit (as unsold operates all over the world it seems):

" … all the reviews had been in last couple months, not a good sign on a deal that supposely is good for 24months."
" … if you look up unsold.com in the wayback machine there is no evidence the company existed until recently. They claim to have been around since 2007"

Says $347 on website, us ozbargain ppl won't be taken advantage of thank you very much.

    Dodgy.
    Do not use.

    • $347 plus $19.10 fee

  • Wish me luck im gonna pull the trigger :)

    • May the odds be forever in your favour:-) I’m gonna pass though. Usually if it’s too good to be true it usually is..

    • +3

      So what did you get?

      • Have to search certain days to see what is available. I'll have a play around tomorrow to see what I find. Prefer Noosa area if I can manage it.

  • +2

I bought this. Its a good deal.
We live on the coast but need a break nearby. Several hotels available on most dates. One on the beach that retails for 299 a night available on our dates in a few weeks. Worth it.

    • +3

Which hotel are you staying in, and which days of the week?

      cheers

      • We couldn't get the mooloolaba beachfront one on our dates… but can see it on other dates. Were going end of august to the oaks at Alex Heads. Happy with the price and its a great location for us to feel like we're having a beach break. Can walk to maroochydore, cotton tree or mooloolaba from there.

    • +1

I'm local too but hesitant to buy. I would hate to get Twin Waters as last time I visited it was very run down and they were only updating the lobby.
Most of the other locations are nice and would be happy with

      • +1

As in Novotel twin waters? I went start of the year, as they were finishing the lobby Reno and it looked great. Not a bad resort to take the kids. Plenty for them to do. We did get a upgrade, maybe that's why it didn't feel so run down?
        Definitely good value

    • check your bank account I was charged in US dollars. :(

If this is a deal, then full credit to those that take/took the plunge. Here's some details from the terms and conditions on their website:

The Unsold Companies and the Unsold Affiliates have no liability and will make no refund in the event of any delay, cancellation, overbooking, strike, force majeure or other causes beyond their direct control, and they have no responsibility for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of any government or authority.

  • Anyone take any of the port Douglas deals?

I bought the sunshine coast one.

novatel, oaks seaport, breakfree grand pacific, caloundra central aparthotel are the four options.

    • That’s unfortunate

      • Yep same. It did mention Noosa as well. Anyone found some available dates for Noosa?

  • Bought the deal and it seems like there's only about 5 different properties available for the dates I checked. Some of the properties go for about $130+ per night during non-peak times, so I think $366 for 4 nights is a great deal. I just hope there's no issues with booking as I've never dealt with these guys before.

    • check your bank account, I was charged in US$ :(

  • Thinking about getting the sydney one, any ideas which hotels are part of it and when they are available? looking for mid next month.

4 star is luxury? i thought 5 star was luxury.

  • silly me. Pulled the trigger and after checking bank account. It is down $522.85. Anyone have any tips on getting out of this?

    • +1

Definitely charged 366 aud on my card.

      • I wonder if there was a pricing/currency error that has since been addressed. Mine shows a pending $522.85.

        • +1

I would contact them via the site to resolve. From the posts I read above they do seem to care about service.

        • +1

I just checked the link, it clearly shows its now 366 usd… when I took it up last night im 99% sure it said AUD. Perhaps they did change it ? But I reckon if you query this you might win.

          • @LikezDaBargainz: Thanks, will do and report back.

            • @Mountain greg: I'm happy to provide a snip of my cc charge if you need backup. Its definitely 366.10 aud at present on my credit card.

              • +1

@LikezDaBargainz: Yep the price definitely had an A$ on it last night when I ordered. Now has been removed. It's a .com site so wouldn't be surprised that they have since switched it around

                • +1

@andyman1908: I just checked, it definitely say $A in front right at this moment. They even specifically note "Prices are in AUD" next to total.

Don't know how Mountain Greg got charged in USD, best to contact them to sort out

  • +1

All good -I contacted support and just received this back from them …….
    "HI,
We hope you are well. We were informed by our IT team that there was a
system issue causing you to be charged accidentally in USD instead of
your local currency upon your purchase of our specially discounted
Unsold Saver Deal. We apologize for this inconvenience. Rest assured
that we are now in the process of refunding the difference, which
should reflect in your account in 3-5 business days or however long
your bank's processing time is. Thank you for your kind
understanding. Please let us know you have confirmed receipt of this
email or if you have any questions we can assist you with."

So all good, thanks guys I was worried there for a while.

  • Hi, is anyone been charged for international transactions fee?

On top of 366 my cc charged an international transactions fee.

    • It's a fee from your credit card company. Unsold is not an Australian merchant.

    • I've been charged too

  • How many of you managed to make the booking? I hit an issue where it wont let me book for both our kids and us, claimed they are looking into it. This was 8 days ago.
