    Does Rupert know about this?

Stan is really trying hard to improve their numbers
Sinking Ship apparently, haemorrhaging users atm

I also got a notification the a few days ago for 6 months free of Binge. Too bad there's no app for WebOS on LG's.

  • Binge is better than Stan, but not as good as NetFlix. AppleTV has excellent shows, but not enough content. Disney+ is good for kids.

      Binge is better than Stan

Depends what you want to watch.

    • +1

      Disney+ is good for kids.

My kids got bored of it after a couple of weeks. Glad I only had to pay for 1 month.

    • Do any of them have law and orders on them?

      Feel like watching that again

          Too complicated
I'll just watch them off my nas

          • +2

@iamhurtin: Yeah because installing either Binge or Foxtel Now on any device is more complicated than:

            1. subscribing and purchasing a VPN
            2. installing a torrent client
            3. finding a torrent website
            4. finding a torrent with seeders
            5. downloading the torrent
            6. ensuring the file is named correctly
            7. setting up a NAS and network share
            8. installing Kodi or Plex on a device

And sure steps 3 through 6 can be somewhat automatic but still, it’s hardly simple.

              @sween64: You're a takeout man I'm assuming

              • @iamhurtin: Nope. I cooked dinner last night. I don’t mind a little effort if there are benefits.

                • @sween64: Right
Which is why I have the nas

The torrent finding takes less than a minute on private sites, wait for it download and I'm good to to

Rather that than have to see the horrible Netflix front end advertising another abortion of an offering from happy maddison

                • @sween64: I should listen to jigga and bail out

                  Enjoy your home cooked meal

            • @sween64: Oh

Only one season of the original is available for streaming

        • Gee this looks like an interesting episode: https://www.justwatch.com/au/movie/law-and-order

          • @Jackson: I got it for the first 10, the early episodes really.

I'm struggling to understand today, so I thought I'd like look into the past for answers.

And one episode in particular really spoke to me and my ptsd
Feel so much better after my session today and which I was able to discuss

Maybe you should watch it too

There have been countless occasions where I've flicked through Netflix, found nothing I wanted to watch and settled on something on Stan. I think 85% of Netflix originals are utter trash which seem to make up a fair chunk of their new releases.

      • 85% is too generous

    • couldnt find any good action movies or animal attack films on binge. any good recommends? :)

    • No love for Prime? I think it's the best value and the quality of the originals is stellar. Movie selection is ordinary though lately they have some AAA new releases (Joker/Hobbs and Shaw/Spiderman etc). Plus The Office, Parks and Rec, Community, Always Sunny, The Expanse…

      • I've found streaming services are as much about quality as they are quantity - and as far as the latter goes I've found Prime to be so far at the bottom that I don't even bother checking it any more.

        • Fair enough, definitely not as much content but getting better but wouldn't cancel my other services and have just that. At least what is there I find really good

        • Prime has gotten a lot better in the last month or so

      • +2

        Prime is amazing value.

        • but not 4k

          • @petry: Original content like The Grand Tour is.

        • Even better now that they support profiles too

    • I watched everything worth watching on Binge in one day. I don't think it's even better than Crackle.

  • +1

I've redeemed this twice so far using the same Telstra account. It's been available since last year.

  • Hi OP I got 50k Telstra points added to my account but then it got revoked , anyway I can get it back

    • but then it got revoked

      What did you do wrong?

    • No

  • Can I use this if I use iTunes credit to pay for Stan? Or does it have to be billed through Telstra somehow?

    • If you subscribe via Apple app store, you can pay via iTune credit.

    • +1

No, it has to be a "normal" account created via Stan.com.au.
I fell foul of that last time, & so much hassle to get them to delete my new (created from iTunes) account to re-sign up via their website. The clause is buried in their T&Cs.

Probably easier to suspend your "iTunes" Stan account for 3mths & use a new "stan.com.au" account to claim the promo code. Also would get you a free 1mth trial too. :-)

I just checked and had this and a Binge 3 month offer in the MyTelstra app but when I clicked through neither one of them was available to me. :/

  • +1

Thanks, was able to renew again (and had used the previous telstra offer too).

  • +1

How do I actually sign up? I logged into my Telstra with the above link but there’s nothing to sign up or link to Stan?

  • +1

Clicking on the deal link gives me "This benefit is currently unavailable" on my Telstra account.

I used a 3 months for nix deal 4 months ago and just paid my 1st month.

Would like to know how others got a second round of free Stan.

    • yes, I also have the same problem.

how do we get another 3 months of free stan? that would be awesome

  • Good promo. Stan is way better now than before.

  • Nice! Can reactivate the parent's account for them.

  • How do I become a gold member the cheapest way possible?

  • It's offering me 3 months, I'm neither gold nor silver, just a lowly 'member'.

  • I click on the link and it shows Stan for 3 months, but there is nothing to click. Is this because I am only member, not silver or gold?
I only have 1 bill with Telstra so I will never get to silver or gold membership, shame only benefits are for only people who have multiple bills through them.

    • Actually yes, I didn't notice that when I loaded it on my phone earlier. Stands out on a computer though. No link to click…
