  • Looks good!
What are the main difference between this laptop and
    http://www.centrecom.com.au/catalog/0914u2m-lenovo-z560-0914…

I'm guessing the one in the link is maybe first gen i5? If so, is there a big difference between first and second gen i5?

    • Yep, the centrecom one is 1st gen.
Depending on what you do with the laptop. For gaming and/or graphics purposes the difference is quite noticeable. I would go for this one if I have to choose from the two.

    • +1

      Hi Tool,

Basically the CentreCom one has a 1st Gen i5, this is 2nd Gen. The CPU difference is estimated at the 2nd gen being roughly 20-30% faster over all.

Also their laptop has an older graphics card (nVidia GT310M), ours has the newer GT520M which again is newer faster technology.

For an extra $80 we are offering you the newer model with increased speeds, increases you can not perform to your laptop later on i'll add!

      • +1

The GT520M is about 1.2x better than the GT310M. However, when couple with 2nd gen i5. This makes the price difference decent.

Warning - wrong specs are posted
website lists geforce 520 this page says its a geforce 540

also 'cashback' is a visa card…

    • Graphics fault corrected, but the cash back is still a cash back. Obviously they cant send you physical cash incase it goes missing, so instead you get a prepaid visa card which can be spent in any store world wide without any form of transaction fees at all. Even on the signage provided by Lenovo directly it says cash back and you can see these signs in any store which sells their products.

Just to extend, even when you open the cash back link in our post, Lenovo themself have named that page "Lenovo Cash Back Promo" and you can see this in the top of your internet browser. Then again where they list the model and the amount redeemable, the top of that column again states "cash back"

"Lenovo Cash Back Promo" is a pain in the ass

        • Care to elaborate? I'm thinking of buying this laptop and a heads up on the cash back promo would go a long way!

        • Go and read the T&Cs, but basically, what bothers me about it is you need to lodge your claim within a week of the sale date. The claim requires the serial number. Buying online with delivery times to consider… it's a pretty fine line unless you get express postage of some sort, which no doubt costs more.
I would be interested in this deal if it came with free express post! wink wink

Or can Dereko confirm we can get an invoice with the serial number on it before we receive the goods?

        • +2

          Hi guys,

As soon as payment is received you get an invoice with the model number, serial number and proof of payment showing you have purchased the laptop :)

Our deliveries are also over night, so say you order today, pay today
money clears with us tomorrow, you receive the invoice tomorrow and goods are shipped tomorrow
Goods then arrive the next business day (which if ordered today is Monday)

Once you get our email you can complete the cash back in full as you have the model number, the serial number and a PDF invoice you can upload to the lenovo website.

        • Nice one dereko thanks.

  • You might want to update your website it states it has a gt520M.

Note; Cheapest I could find for that price

    • Already corrected :S Sorry about that!

what's shipping rates like to ship to Adelaide? I registered and now waiting for activation email since last 40 mins…

        • Exactly what I would like to know also please.

        • +1

          Hi drocksu,

I beleive we just spoke on the phone, as discussed though a customer of ours from "Wayville, SA" had a laptop shipped to him last week for $22. Another customer had a laptop shipped to "Collinswood, SA" for $23 With this in mind, I would say shipping to Adelaide metro would be between $20-$25.

NachoMafia that should also give you an idea of shipping costs.

        • Thanks again dereko, really appreciate your rapid follow-ups here!

        • No worries Mafia,

Working in a computer store there's always a spare computer near-by :P Now if only I can convince the boss to unblock FB! :(

        • HAHA FB!.. well then we wouldn't hear from you would we… nice one!

  • http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55066 , was cheaper on that post, not sure if the coupon is still available though

    • +1

i3 model only though dude! Our model is the i5 for a whole $10 more….. Also, ours has a larger HDD! Ours is 750GB, theirs is 500GB

      • that was without the $100 cash back..just saying

        • Yeah I know, I wasn't being mean or anything mlburnian :P but honestly, for the $10 extra after cash back ours is the undisputed winner!

      • whats the diff between Z560 and Z570?

        • Z560 is the earlier model, typically the Z560 models are al first gen.
Z570 are 2nd gen, CPU's are 20-30% faster and you get a few other perks such as better graphics cards, USB 3.0, bluetooth 3.0, etc.

        • Sorry did you say USB 3.0?
All reviews/specs I'm seeing suggest it does not have 3.0

        • This exact model doesn't, but some other Z570 models do.

  • want a deal for 14' 13.3'
15.6' one is always feel like less build quality compared to 14' one, for example Thinkpad E520 compared to E420

    • Hi aboutconfig,

      Check our our bargain posted earlier this week;
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55218

      • too expensive for i5 2410m, even after cash back price $699
I bought Thinkpad Edge E420s with same specification and paid the postage and it worked out to be less than $699. You might want to consider to do some grey import to lower your selling price? I mean give some pressure to your supplier.

        • Yes but grey imports have warranty problems my friend, it's not nice to you if we do that. The reason why this laptop costs more is also the battery life, it has 8+ hours where as most i5 laptops offer 3-4 hours.

  • If delivery is $25 then for an extra $12.95 this would be a better deal if you want usb 3.0

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55132

Also has 1GB GeForce GT 540M
    3 year warranty

    • Alright - fair point. We have that same laptop in stock, we will match the deal entirely with the 3 years warranty too and offer it for $698 with free shipping Australia wide. For this, orders can only be made through email to [email protected] or over the phone (0298920000) and just mention this post!

      • Doesn't really bother me but are you matching this ($616.95 delivered)or offering it for $698,your comment is a bit confusing.

        • i think he means u get it for $698 inc delivery and then u use cash back offer to get it for $598…

  • +1

I'm struggling to pull the trigger on this on dereko. Are you sure there is no "OzBargain Exclusive" coupon code for free shipping? :)

    • +1

totally agree… for me postage works out to be $31.00 to post it to Adelaide.. that means 31% loss of my cash back offer :(

also… many retailers now a days are opffering extra warranty at no cost (may be that's because their faith in their product).

    • +1

I'm with Nacho on this one, I'm very close to the edge of buying -but just need a little nudge to push me across the line. ;)
Realising there is no USB 3.0 is a bit of a downer.

      • +1

The USB 3.0 gets me a little too.

        • I think… I am gonna turn it down… just lack of motivation guys…

      • Alright alright fine, the best I can do for you is have this shipped to Adelaide for $18. If you are happy to proceed email your orders to [email protected] . I will need you to send your name, delivery address and phone number and then we can send you back a sales order so you can make payment.

And for anyone who orders tonight, tonight only, I will also throw in a free Intel carry bag and a free Norton antivirus 2012! This post will be removed tomorrow and not repeated again, so if you want motivation there you go! :)

        • ok, you got me. :)

        • me too… however, i haven't got reply to my email yet… looks like LFO doesn't like me… ;P

        • +1

Alright guys, both orders processed! The original comment will be removed shortly.

        • Thanks dereko.

        • thanks dereko!!
