    • No only one generation upgrade to SoC. It would be faster but not drastically. main draw card would be the cleaner software

I really want to start a OnePlus online petition to get them back to Aus :(

  • How is this phone compare to oppo Find X2 Pro?

    • +1

Few key difference. Oxygen OS on the Oneplus in my opinion is the best version of Android. It's simply superb. Whereas the mess on Oppo phones drives me bonkers.

The camera on the Oppo is better. The screen is better on the Oppo. Not sure on battery life. But neither has bad battery life. Oppo Find X2 pro has Australian support. You can also get a fast (VOOC) charger with an AU plug for the Oppo, you can't get a Dash charger with an AU plug for the Oneplus.

For me, Oxygen OS is so good that I purchased a Oneplus 7 pro and haven't looked back. I have no regret about having to use an adaptor for fast charging. My warranty is now out of date so not having a service centre in Australia doesn't bother me either.

Not gonna lie though - the Find X2 pro is very tempting though.

      • The VOOC charger will dash/warp charge the OnePlus. Same parent company, same technology.

        • I believe it fast charges but doesn't quite get to the speed of Warp. So it's not quite the same. That's what I experienced.

          • @bunnybash: Should be warp charging with that charger as it delivers 65w on the VOOC technology and the OnePlus only needs 30w to "dash" charge. Interesting.

            • @AusNugz: Can anyone confirm? I've heard mixed responses. Although there are a few supposed VOOC and Warp Chargers out there that are not authentic and dont actually charge

      • Have to agree Oxygen OS is fantastic!

      • Thank for the detailed reply. I will wait for a deal on the Oppo then, or the one plus 8 pro i guess?

        • Maybe get a spare throw away Sim ready. Then opt in for jbhifi 12 month Telstra deal.

I'm waiting for next one to jump in and get the Oppo

Maybe some discounted physical jbhifi gift cards as well.

Last deal was 799 upfront then cancel straight away and pay 390 cancel fee

Makes it 1189 all up for arguably best phone 2020.

          • @agalea101: The find x2 pro is my ideal next phone to get, however there were some user reported having issues with the screen dimming, apparently it looks greenish in low light condition

      • Which 7t pro has band 28?

        • I'm pretty sure they all do bro.

  • I was considering purchasing but then i saw there is no headphone jack….

No one should be getting this when the Nord is on its way

  • Wait… is the OnePlus Nord coming to Australia? its on there australian website?!?!

    • +2

Negative. A lot of pages are available but you will eventually get a "Not available in your region page"
They maintain their sites at a global level and the AU site is a leftover from when they soft launched the 5t here. It was quite half-assed and from memory they didn't even include an AU charger.

      • Yeah no idea what the point of that soft launch was. I was put off by the lack of an AU charger so went an LG G6 instead I did really want a oneplus but they obviously were not prepared to commit any effort then pulled out straight away anyway

      • Just to correct - they soft launched the 5 here, not the 5T.

  • can anyone weigh in on buybuybox's support?

    • +1

      what support

    • Gray import, support non-existant.
      Do you feel lucky?

  • What about 1+8p?

  • Wow, that's pretty much half the price of the 8 Pro. That is bonkers for these specs.

  • OnePlus is a reputable brand but I have just never heard of this merchant "BuyBuyBox".

  • Anyone know if the Nord "Avicii" is even coming to Australia. I can only find references to Europe and India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Just need to badly find a replacement in the coming months for my Oppo reno.

  • no B28?

  • Hey

  • Ok. Since no one has asked the question, is this the phone that has infrared camera that can see through some object such as tv remote?

  • The hole press ahhh.

Hooray, the phone is in my hand and it is amazing!
